EVarn: Three Gbosa for you OP! you are well conformed.......The minister should look more into transmission and distribution, we have cases of stranded power already. |

Alphacom:Wrong my dear. The power issue is like a hydra headed monster that must be tackled all at once otherwise the other heads will attack. The past three administration focused on building power plants cos that's the fastest and best way to chop money. What happened? We lost $16b and not a single MW was added to the national grid. Mind You, Our transmission infrastructure was at best obsolete and at worst decayed o. Moving forward. Yar'Adua was an honest man.. So the next administration was the opportunity to chop. What did they focus on? Distribution. Sold the Discos to cronies with zero technical expertise for peanuts who have unsurprisingly hashed the entire privatisation process. Transmission still remains moribund. So the Discos have an excuse. No way to evacuate power. The new gencos meanwhile were so insidious they built with political motives. In places with ZERO access to gas. How the FUCĶING hell you gonna power your genco when gas is in Rivers state but you built in Ondo?!?! So gencos too have an excuse. Transmission nko? Lol. What am I transmitting? Irregular 3,000MW with lines that were built in 1950 and never maintained? Forget, we need to recolonise Nigeria. Outsource our leadership to China. I swearigad. 2 Likes |

Wow! Good news. The question is, will these plants ever have to be fully functional? If yes, will the power be evenly distributed across the nation? What about maintenance culture? I call these gimmicks until 70% Nigerians are attesting to the fact of good power supply (take note, not constant power supply) |

Alphacom: EVarn is right also, because the little we are generating is going into High Wastage because of distribution /Transmission |

A nation is built by all citizens, not just politicians. Many Nigerians are too destructive in their comments and actions. This government has been hampered by scarcity of funds and mismanagement of the past. We don't expect them to solve the power problem in 4 years. We all know Fashola is an action man and he is doing a lot underground. There are many power projects going on, including wind, solar, coal and gas powered stations. The government's approach now is multi-faceted and bound to succeed, as it's the right approach Many power stations are not operating to full capacity because of scarcity of gas, as some Nigerians are sabotaging all the efforts of the government. No government is perfect, we have to agree that this government is trying, within the constraints they have 1 Like |

It's only when we are operating and maintaining the previous power plant at full capacity ,that is when we should build a new one . After the completion of these plant ,several unit will be down and we are back to square one . |
