alcmene: I live in Owo: I am thus attaching live pictures of my house and its immediate environment I don't seem to understand what you meant by asking "If Lagos is like this, then you can imagine the conditions of Owo, Oshogbo..." I can confirm we live far above the standards possible in Lagos. We had left you to "your Lagos" long before Fela sang his "Suffering and Smiling" I can confirm that I am NOT a Politician - and have NEVER been one: just your average Middle Class citizen... We eke out our daily living in peace and tranquility here. If you feel your living conditions are better than ours, you are welcome to your opinions However wake me up when you are done with your illusion about your Lagos 1 Like

alcmene:Please what's the rationale behind this comment? I suggest you study Google maps in terrain mode to see how far above sea level all the places you mentioned are, also research the amount of rainfall in those places before assuming they will be worse; or else you are just here to make tribalistic and thoughtless comments. 1 Like |

Noah's covenant with God is almost expired. How often do you see rainbow these days? The rainbow is the only sign that reminds God of his covenant with Noah that he will not allow flood to destroy lives anymore. The end is near. |

Sleyanya1: Yup you're correct! poor Storm drainage to be specific. Excessive but still regular rainfall cannot overwhelm a proper storm drain network. Only the 'Act of God' scenarios mess evrything up. Such we haven't experienced yet. 1 Like |

This is not just a drainage issue. I live in an estate in lekki-ajah axis with excellent drainage and for the first time in 8 years, we have had water gathered in the premises for over 5 days; not up to ankle length and not all over the place, but a strange sight all the same. The lagoon is at our back and the drains empty into it and a nearby canal. Thanks to 8 days of rain, most of it very heavy, there's no where for the water to go to; the ground is saturated, the canal and the lagoon are at a high level. It's the same scenario in my small farm further down the lekki axis. The ground is saturated; water fills the imprint of your feet when you step on the ground. I think the problem we have in Lagos goes beyond drainage. Lekki, Ikoyi, VI are all low lying areas with high water tables. So, with the extended, heavy rains that we have experienced recently flooding is inevitable. 2 Likes |

LastMumu:Don't mind them, haters are liable to die young,I live and work in Vi.Today's rain was very much,it started in the midnight, continues rainfall causes flood in many parts of the world(Nigeria inclusive).Currently as we speak, the flood is reduced.....it is better now Leave the children of hate alone, they are hating what they can't conquer. 1 Like |

Some idiots will say Lagos is over rated as if they don't know these things happen in Coastal cities with high magnitude rainfall. Flood happened in the North side of England while I was there, it happens in the USA so it's not a matter of Government or Overrated, it just nature. These areas for some of you that don't know are some of the best real estate locations in Nigeria, you think they don't know they ought to have good drainage system since it keeps happening every year. |
