I was brought up as a jehovah's witness.as a child there were so many thing i did not like about the church,for example their disdain for traditional african cultural practices,discrimination against other churches,segregating their members from mainstream socities and so many other things.However,i always owe them a huge appreciation for instilling in me self-discipline and control as well shaping and expanding my intellectual capacities, which put me above my peers then through constant reading of their magazines like AWAKE and WATCHTOWER.This early exposure made me to gain a rare insight about the complexities of socio-political,economic and religious at a global level which seem to marvel most adult of whom i came in contact with.i can rember my school days when we re having lecture on philosophical anthropology about the origin of man,and the lecture asked if anyone had an idea about what evolution meant,mehn,i stood up and mesmerised both my course mates and the lecturer with a vivid answer even quoting Charles Darwin.afterwards my lecturer asked me if i had been studying the course on my own and i said no, that i gain my knowledge by reading jehovah's witnesses publication titled:Life how did it get here-by evolution or by creation?jehovah's witness is what made me to think deeper about life, even though i'm an atheist now.

I attended MFM.. We prayed way too much for my understanding. But the church was really good. And they are not all about money. You rarely hear the pastor talking about tithe and offering the way you hear it in RCCG that I attend now.

I am also thrilled about the MFM's passion for musical instruments. They train interested kids on different instrument in their music school for free.

I grew up living with my dads immediate younger sister who happens to be a member of The Apostolic faith Church (a.k.a ijo elekun) back then in ilorin at agbo oba road, with headquarters at Anthony village, lagos.

what a church, I was well groomed with d world of God, very very spiritual that we see other denominations as unbelievers.

We no dey watch tv, no earrings for females, no drugs, no hospital, we no dey dance for church, men no dey keep beards, no offering except tithe, if you dey pray and u no cry join, usher go tap you, (to tell you that you are just playing) up till today, I never sabi dance as d church affect me reach, upon say I don dey attend winners ever since I relocated to lagos at the age of 14, am 33 now.

But I missed their musical concert well well.

well, i was born and brought up in a cherubim & seraphim church....,,,,

the mode of worship is an interesting one especially revivals and vigil programmes..it's always something to write home about.

how it affects my personality?

however, i think members are too religious with a larger fraction of gullibility and hipocrisy.. (we too dey folow folow spiritual leaders)


but now, my case is different!

Deeper life Bible church. It really shaped and made me the christian I am today. All the Christian virtues I know today were as a child who grew up in deeper life Bible church. The Bible study on Mondays is so enriching .

Growing up I attended Qua Iboe( now united evangelical ) church orile, but the distance was far from our house at Festac. So whenever we could not go there with our parents, we went to Presbyterian church around the corner.
Qua Iboe impacted on me Cox since it was not a regular thing it made me look towards going to church, as that was also an avenue to meet my grand parents who resided at ketu. The service then was fun because of the memory verses we crammed to show off at home, and any time there was a function, intelligent kids were given the opportunity to show case their scriptural brilliance.

The Presbyterian also helped me because we wrote monthly Sunday school exams and nobody wanted to be seen as a failure, also that was the first church I witnessed people being excommunicated (the good old days of christiandom) due to bad behavior, while in Qua Iboe if you came late during prayer or sermon, irrespective of who you were you most stay outside, till something less spiritual starts.

I later went to a boarding house where I was baptized in the Catholic church, I didn't really learn much, but that was one of the most dedicated part of my Christian life, the reverend fathers and sisters were wow and out of this world and really helped me I guidance, I might have been a lost soul if not for them, I am forever grateful to the catholic church for the guidance of my life at a crucial stage of growing up.
After school I worked for the synagogue church of all nations and that was where I learnt Life, Prophet T.B Joshua remains an inspiration till today. I learnt life and Christianity from another angle, unfortunately that was the last church I took seriously.

I have since become a non denominational Christian, as I believe Christ is about love and keeping the commandment, I don't want to be associated with any particular church, I want to be associated with Christ like characters, coupled with the fact that I can't stand Hypocrisy and the church this days are filled with hypocrites.

That being said 80% of my Christian spiritual knowledge, is from the teaching of a Korean, his analysis opened my eyes to a different way of seeing the Bible and understanding creation, he made me meditate more, he made me understand that works is equally as important as faith.

But more importantly he made me understand why most people will constantly be misled, because they see omniscience in a different light.
