Lagos government explains why Lekki, Victoria Island are flooded.

The State’s Commissioner for the Environment, Babatunde Adejare, who spoke after inspecting areas affected by the flood in the State, allayed fears of residents, assuring that the government has activated its emergency response system to respond efficiently where necessary.
He said most of the flooding would recede after a period of time, attributing the cause to the high tide of the lagoon, slowing down the flow of rainfall water from drainage channels.

The last couple of days hasn't been rosy for residents in the Lekki and Victoria Island axis of Lagos. The heavy downpour has translated into massive floods and left most roads and homes inhabitable and as expected, Nigerians with zero chill on social media are having a field day mocking the so called 'Big boy and girls' in Lekki.

I don't think there's much anyone can do about lekki and VI floodings during heavy downpour because this area is below sea level. It's natural phenomenon.

Well said bro except if the building are constructed well higher above sea level but then nature would still take place

Poverty and beef are like twins.. #beefonlekki... Flood occurs globally and its mostly government that is responsible for urban n regional planning... I'd take flooding any day any time over badoo killings... grin

Everything should not be made as a joke. This is when solidarity support is done. A lot will be devastated by the flood ravage. Envy and bad belle won't let Nigerians help each other in situations like this.

I lived in a city in India that was ravaged by flood, we all came out to provide assistance to people and areas affected. Nigerians are best known to make silly comments on social media.
