Reading what Alexxo11 said about the behaviour of some Nigerians just irked me. Why can't some just respect their host country? 2 Likes |

alexxo11: In your honest opinion, how do Kenyans view Nigerians (educated and uneducated) living in Kenya?! The point I'm trying to arrive at is if Kenyans generally view Nigerians living in Kenya as criminals, drug dealers, rapists e.t.c? The reason I'm asking is because it seems to be a trend that the inglorious reputation of Nigerians precedes us, such that honest Nigerians are tarred using the same dishonest brush. 1 Like |

claremont:Well offcourse im sure that majority of nigerians are good ...but it is the behavior of the minority(which happens to be a large number)who spoil the name of your great nation. In kenya ,at first we knew nigerians as the "lords"of africa ,this was attributed to the fact that ur movies were a big deal back in the day.We were always honoured to meet a nigerian, then came the rapings ,blackmail, and all sorts of vices and our attitude changed. When you are a nigerian in kenya the first thing that comes to most peoples mind is conartists.A large majority of nigerians in kenya just stay in the house 24/7 and con people online, and then withdraw the monies through mpesa. This has actually Tainted our image in the online industry as we have already been redflaged as one of the countries with scammers, hence making it difficult to do online deals. What shocks me most is the aggogance most nigerians have on women.I mean the rape and battering of women by nigerians is just malicious! Is it a culture thing in nigeria?? 3 Likes |

alexxo11:My Gooood! Lord help us all, but these are the kind of things that drive a permanent wedge between people. We have historical and longstanding communities from other African countries. The Ugandans and Tanzanians are the most prominent, they just blend in and kenyanize over the generations. Nigerians and Congolese share a trait for the bizarre. When kenyans get fed up they can be pretty violent and unpredictable. I have a number of nieces who are of the dating age and i tell them to rather date a broke kenyan boy than a foreigner with secret fetishes who wouldn't bat an eyelid to sacrifice her to a strange wooden god i? order to get rich or famous. Am so shocked to read this, ilifanyika when? 2 Likes |

Folafikemi:Oga, If your country has loads of people who have what it takes to succeed in and out, why is your country so very... how do I put this delicately....... unexcellent? FYI, i joined nairaland to counter this perversity about Kenya, esp the stuuupid and daft sex related stories and a not so subtle attempt by forces seen and unseen to portray us as some latter day Sodom and Gomorrah. It is precisely this kind of messaging on nairaland that leads some of your less talented countrymen to think that they shall land at the tarmac of the airport and find people bonking away. The same mindset that leads a man to think he can detain an innocent girl and gang rape her in a flat after drugging her drink. What is it about nigerians and crime? Go anywhere in the world and you find very healthy and robust Nigerian inmate compliment. Why is this? Finally, work on your attitude. Arrogance is a disease every bit as bad as Ebola. Contagious and disgusting, but very unmistakable in its final outcome. Since when does an average african citizen in any country think he is worse off than an average Nigerian? Travel to some better off african nations like Botswana, Namibia.... heck even an average Swazi is waaay better off than an average Nigerian, i kid you not. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Just so you know, you can't make a payment for your Kenya's e-visa without a dollar card or activated credit or debit card. Three documents you would need to upload are 1. International passport photo page, must be colored and valid for upwards of 6 month from point of visa issuance 2. Passport photograph, must be colored and clear with white background 3. Hotel reservation E-visa comes out in less than 48 hours and you print from the portal, they don't send to mail. So you check periodically. If your business is online related, or agriculture or tourism related Kenya is perfect. But for white collar jobs not too sure. Any other info feel free to ask me |

alexxo11: Hi alexxo, Thanks for being nice, helpful and resourceful. I intend visiting Nairobi next month with my wife and kids, my family in short. 1. Pls what's the best means of transportation from the airport to any good hotel. I mean do you have Uber there too? 2. Where do I change money to Kenyan currency, at the airport? 3. what part of the country is welcoming to visitors on tourism, especially to families. 4. Where do we get to find food to eat. like restaurants. Thanks in advance bro. |
Re: What About Kenya by alexxo11(m): 7:15am On Jul 11, 2017 |
mybelovenigeria:hey as you prepare to visit i can welcome you by saying karibuni sana.....we do have uber here in kenya and if you ask me that will be the best mode of transportation from the airport....but also there are taxis at the airport but they very expensive...the best option is to take an uber...as for changing currency there are numerous places to change currencies in Nairobi...my best advice is dont change the whole amount at the airport ,because airport rates are high...change only a small fraction at the airport(for expenses) and the rest change them in town...Kenyans are generally welcoming to visitors so you can stay in any part of the country...For food you can find anywhere ...there are numerous joints....If you really want to enjoy ur stay insead of booking a hotel...rent a flat ..which will be way more cheaper....there are flats for rent, with all included ...hope iv been of help...you can message me if you need anything 1 Like 1 Share |

alexxo11: wow! you have been so resourceful bro. I'll arrange with a Uber driver before arriving. For the accommodation, we won't be staying more than 5days before leaving for Kigali. do you still suggest renting a flat for that limited period of time? Thanks always! |

Fellow Nairalanders, i hail o. please i have a question to ask. I want to travel with kenya airways to rwanda but i am aware that the baggage should not exceed 23kg 2pieces for economy. My question is i want to travel with a box, a ghana must go and a plasma Tv but the total for all wont exceed the 46kg but i cant place the plasma Tv in the ghana must go. wont the luggage be 3pieces already? even though i wont exceed the 46kg limit Please guru in the house pls help a novice |
Re: What About Kenya by alexxo11(m): 4:05pm On Jul 11, 2017 |
mybelovenigeria:5days is too little for a flat...coz here they charge per month...a hotel is advisable...since you are with family i can reccommend some hotels for you (cheap ones since the stay is short) |
Re: What About Kenya by alexxo11(m): 4:09pm On Jul 11, 2017 |
mybelovenigeria:I live in a 3bdroomed apartment ,hence its kinda small for accomodating a whole family (as in ur case) so i will look for a cheap hotel and get back to you. |

Re: What About Kenya by Pavore9: 3:12am On Jul 12, 2017 |
mybelovenigeria: Taking an Uber ride on arrival will be better. Change few dollars at the airport to cover the Uber ride and things needed immediately. Then in the morning head to the city centre and change what you intend spending while in Kenya at a Forex shop. Staying in a hotel since you will be around for just 5 days is recommended. There are many Nigerian restaurants in Nairobi, Mummy Dada is one of them located in the upscale neighbourhood of Lavington. I guess you intend experiencing kenyan dishes. 3 Likes |
