Let me tell you how some stuffs work. Most players before agreeing to join a club have their terms which interested clubs must meet. Before joining roma, juve and arsenal wanted him, but he ignored them. Players join teams that are ready to agree with their terms. Barca is with umtiti and pique, whose contractual terms may shut out manolas. Thats why some clubs would agree with a player and the deal wont be sealed until some players are flushed out for the incoming one. So transfer is not just adding 1+1. Thats how hulk went to zenith when bigger clubs were chasing him. He is now in china. Fact is, manolas is a better cb than rudiger and i am not a greek. Still expecting a cb, cos for now we just signed a right back who can play other positions.

Manolas is another Bernatia..Believe me he will not be an upgrade to either Cahil, Luiz or azpi, just another CB. Rudiger purchase is better.

Some people will criticise hazard for a whole season for not tracking bellerin, but they wont want us to criticise a defender defending stupidly. If it was cahill that gave eriksen that free goal, against denmark, some of us would be on that story till next year. A defender showing vulnerability is not the one to rely on, for ucl. He might be good few seasons ago, but at present i cant see anything spectacular in him.



I respect your soccer analysis. But telling me manolas is another benatia and that he is not an upgrade to cahill, is a joke. Manolas is a blend of both old-school and modern day cb. He can match a swift attacker with speed and can compete with a bullying striker. Every defender make mistakes, but this rudiger will be more exposed in epl, trust me. The question you guys have not answered is, who will this guy bench?

Him and Azpi will share RCB/RB position. I heard we are getting Van dirjk too. As for manolas you never can tell, epl is different. A Greek player for that matter.

Azpi will be even better as rcb next season so i dont know how rudiger will dislodge him. Van dijk is probably going to liverpool. Arsenal is showing interest too. I doubt if chelsea will pay his fee, after getting rudiger for 35m and we still have a striker to buy and bakayoko lurking around. As regards manolas, it's not a country thingy, the same epl that van persie made his name, is the same league his countryman, depay got thrown away after flopping. It's about individual player. I remember telling manure fans that depay wouldnt make it in epl, when they signed him. Just like this rudiger issue, they called me names, now the rest is history. I pray for rudiger to prove me wrong and even if he wont, his blunders should not wreck chelsea before we make adjustments.

Bro trust me his flaws will be managed properly by conte..Remember Conte play to players strength, see Luiz and Moses as an example. Would you suggest a van persie kind of player for cfc, an injury prone. It was actually this point I was making when we got linked to rudiger. While most of us agreed we needed to upgrade Cahills position last season,one will expect any player coming in will be strictly for that purpose but it ain't the case.

We have a utility player who I don't see dislodging moses or Azpi from their positions and definitely can't play Cahills position. This begs the qxn,why did we sell Ake who looked comfortable enough playing as a LCB to buy a player who is not comfortable enough playing as a LCB?
