5days is too little for a flat...coz here they charge per month...a hotel is advisable...since you are with family i can reccommend some hotels for you (cheap ones since the stay is short)

Thanks for your contribution bro, do you think someone with a degree in English Education and English Language can teach over there? and what is the working hours there, is work paid per hour? and please shed more light on the type of business i can do over there.

Thank you

I don't think you can get any job in Kenya especially with a degree from nigeria (no offence) you have to bear in mind kenya is still Africa so jobs are scarce...there is nothing as per hour pay in kenya it's monthly ....

I don't know about flying with such but if you were flying directly to Kigali, it will involve less handling than connecting through Nairobi.

i learnt they put such fragile luggage in another place entirely so i cant put it with other luggage. i have a box of cloth weighing 21kg, a ghana must go of few food stuff and cloths weighing 12kg and the tv which is less than 7kg.

But my concern is with this luggage wont it be counted as 3piece even though i have not exceeded the total weight?

It wouldn't, you need to see my load when I fly ET. cheesy You haven't exceeded the 46kg but if you still do not feel convinced, do call KQ's Lagos office and forward your concerns.

It is Ankara not aso oke. Kenyans are embracing them.
Considering he might be a first time traveler, don't you think Kenya customs might ask him to pay heavy duty because I guess he might buy plenty to resell in Kenya, just thinking out loud so that he will not buy plenty Ankara wrappers and it end up been seized or attract heavy duty smiley

He flies in with few, once he establishes network he can then cargo them over.

Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate it. I have tried calling the Lagos office before i resorted to nairaland but no one picked it up.

Nevertheless you have given me muscle. i will also keep on trying the contact hoping someone picks eventually to have a second opinion.

Asante Sana

Taking an Uber ride on arrival will be better. Change few dollars at the airport to cover the Uber ride and things needed immediately. Then in the morning head to the city centre and change what you intend spending while in Kenya at a Forex shop.

Staying in a hotel since you will be around for just 5 days is recommended.

There are many Nigerian restaurants in Nairobi, Mummy Dada is one of them located in the upscale neighbourhood of Lavington. I guess you intend experiencing kenyan dishes.

Thank you bro. Should I change from Dollar to Kenya money. is that what you are advising please?

Pls permit me to recommend Grace House Resort to you very close to yaya center. I spent like a week there and i really enjoyed theirs service. It a Christain like hotel, the staff are exceptional. One of them led me to my host about 5mins walk from the hotel without collecting a dime
I agree with pavore9. You can change some cos u may likely get a better offer in town than at the airport

hey guys, please I have some questions regarding kenya, i'll appreciate it if any Kenyan here can help.
1) How much is the average cost of a good(decent) rented apartment in Nairobi.
2) What is the average cost of living in Kenya
3) Like how much should someone earn per month, to leave a pretty decent life in kenya.
4) Also how is the security situation ( Al shabab et al)
5) lastly, where are DON'T GO areas in kenya for foreigners (Nigerians).
