Someone dropped a link, one indiabix.com, a few weeks to the aptitude test. I can assure you beyond any reasonable doubt that for the "Environmental Engineering & Sustainability" field specific section which I chose during the test, all of the questions were taken from the 7 sections on https://www.indiabix.com/chemical-engineering/environmental-engineering/. I mean ALL 50 QUESTIONS, not even a single question was foreign to those on that website. I practised those questions as I had no other material for this course, hence my ability to recall all of these 50 questions even though I might have missed like 5 or so during the test. As for the English part, I totally cannot comment because it's the worst English exams I have written all my life. Bringing out such sort of questions was so unnecessary in my opinion. I mean how are such words going to actually test the English ability of a technical professional. The grammar part towards the end was the only thing I was sure I answered correctly. As for the first 50 or so questions, I leave everything in the Hands of the Lord. All the best to every deserving individual who worked hard for that day.
what state are you from biko?

The important paragraph in the executive secretary's feeds are:

Gusau said also that the PTDF had met with Vice Chancellors of 40 Federal Universities offering courses relating to Oil and Gas, so as to redirect its overseas scholarship award to local institutions.

The official said substantial number of applicants taking the 2017/2018 PTDF scholarship test would be admitted in Nigerian Universities already running courses in oil and gas related areas
but anyhow anyhow they will she give overseas abi?

most of the questions not all and they modified them and changed their option arrangements.

UPDATE ON PTDF AFTER TEST

Due to low oil price and economic crises, only few people will be admitted for overseas scholarship this year. If u choose Brasil and Germany schools with partnership with PTDF then this may be secured.

The exam is quite unfair so is life. However, there is still hope because selection though determined by your state, in case of discrepancies, the course chosen, O level and Female gender is still accounted for.

If it happens any of you get local scholarship, kindly choose IFP school, Shell Centre of Excellence Benin, OAU Centre of Excellence and private universities.

There school fees is over a million and u get quality education and conducive environment with no strike and lecturer problem. Do not choose to go to any regular schools. No real impact and differences between u and undergraduates.

Every year it is the same story yet people used PTDF to attend Imperial College and other universities in UK last year despite oil prices being far lower then than it is today.

PTDF should also explain to us why some beneficiaries of the LSS are yet to receive a dime till date even when they received close to 80% of their budget allocation.

They are talking about Germany as if close to 95% of the German MSc programs are not tuition free. This is an aside from the fact that more people still secure this scholarship without having their names appear on the master list released in various newspapers when result time comes.

I personally know 2 people who secured this scholarship last year that may not know the difference between discrete and discreet and their respective states still got 5 and 6 scholars (depending on ND states).

PTDF should just shut up and do what they are paid to do- which is to disburse monies for the scholarship and stop talking arrant nonsense. We all know Senator's cronies and even staff of the MPR will still get the same scholarship and be sent to schools of their choice.

You people should stop sugar-coating things.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/07/ptdf-screens-eligible-candidates-nationwide/amp/

ABUJA-The Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF, has screened candidates who had earlier applied and qualified for the Fund’s scholarship programme nationwide.

The screening exercise which took place at various centers across the country simultaneously had students from various units of the oil and gas discipline.

The Executive Secretary of PTDF, Dr Bello Gusau who monitored the exercise in the Abuja and Kaduna Zones explained that the Fund was targeting 1,700 candidates at the Abuja centre and 4,500 nationwide.

In his words, the examinations took place simultaneously in all the centers, noting that the results would be communicated later, in order for candidates to learn of their fate as quickly as possible.

He said: “This exam is essentially for masters’ programme so they must all have a first degree and must be in the relevant field that is related to the oil and gas sector. These are the basic qualifications for writing this exam.

“In our selection we put the federal character into consideration; that is why we have other centers across the nation and the federal character commission is represented at this interview and all other centers in the country’’.

Gusau explained that the screening of scholars was for both overseas and local programmes as the fund has recently been working towards domesticating its capacity building programme.

His words: “Even though the fund is trying to phase out overseas scholarship, it is still on because you can’t just stop abruptly. There has to be some kind of periodic checks to frequently directing the figures from foreign universities to Nigerian universities.

“As you can see quite a number of the beneficiaries of PTDF capacity building programme are working in the oil and gas sector. A large number are also in the university system, like a kind of train the trainer programme whereby we equip the universities to handle more and more people who are interested in working and acquiring skills for the sector.

“ What we do essentially to improve the scholarship programme is to ensure that based on our own skills gap analysis, we understand where we have deficit in the oil and gas sector and we concentrate on those areas of deficit. As the sector is growing, new demands for skills are also growing, so we keep tracking and monitoring that and we tailor our capacity development programme to meet such demands.’’ he added.

In the same vein, the Federal Character Commission (FCC) expressed satisfaction with the enumeration process carried out by the Fund.

Commission representative and Chairman, Committee on Petroleum Resources, Mamman Alakayi, who monitored the exercise, said federal character compliance, would level playing ground for each candidate who has applied and to also allow all qualified candidates to participate.

“I was part of the short listing process and the federal character played a role from the onset. It is a rule of federal character that they should advertise and that was done; the advert is allowed to run for six weeks to give every interested candidate time to apply.

Probably after the PhD applicants have had their interview. I know it won't be long considering the fact that September is at hand.

I graduated from uniport, I studied chemical engineering and obtained a good result. Since I came back from service the world had just become too unbearable. Jobs are not forthcoming at the moment. I have an ailing mother to cater for. My rent expires next month and if nothing is done under Obiri Ikwerre flyover might be my destination. Am not even bothered about that one, I can bear the pains but for my ailing mother, she cant live with me there
.
I have thrown in my best to get a job or a scholarship which I still believe can still happen this year. I had to trek from rumokoro to RSUST to write NDDC exam, I trekked from Rumuokoro to Elekahia (mummy B junction) to write PTDF exam, to write Flour mills exam last year I stood in young shall grow motors to and fro. I had to hang out around the venue so as not to send people running away from the rancid odor from my cloth blended with sweat. And on Saturday trekking from rumuokoro to ACE center to write agip exam will be a suicide mission. Nowadays I stay in betting centers looking for who to win money so that I will beg the person for any amount he can spare

Please I beg my brothers here, I need help, I can sweep your house, clean your gutter, wash clothes, Teach your kids, if you know a school I can teach please help out. Any job at all that can place food on my table. I am also willing to learn skills if anyone can help out. I need help recently passing through a deep drainage or a transformer has become too tempting for me as I am always pushed to take 10mins and end it all.

I still believe in that good people exists here. Please apart from feeding and house rent I plead with any good samaritan that can help me for transportation to write my agip test on Saturday. It was a friend of mine that encouraged me to use his account since I cannot open a new account and post this immediately here and seek for assistance. I will post my NDDC, PTDF and Agip invitation slip here for those who wants to verify

Thanks for the info flexisafsupport.

Like I asked earlier, is there a possibility of conducting this interview via a video conference/call, say over skype or any other similar medium, for applicants who are not presently in Nigeria. Since it's an interview, it can be completely done over video call and still have same outcome.

Also, if you are a PhD applicant who is currently not in the country and who wouldn't mind doing this interview via Video call, Stone123 suggested we maybe try getting across to the PTDF officials and make a case for a video call, instead of having to travel down to Nigeria. The suggestion was to do this as a group though. Incase you are interested, you can please message me or simply send an email to idearules01@gmail.com

Thank you.

I think you should go get a teachING job first. That used to be the easiest trade for graduates

I fully support your proposition NJN. At least it will save such persons the stress and maybe save PTDF the transport allowance (i.e if there is any) that they give for travel inconveniences. I'm with you on this and I've sent you an email.

Virtuoso89:

The system is a huge mess. Nigeria right now is an abysmal pit of nothingness where nothing works. The next generation has lost hope in this country reason why everyone wants to leave. You see that some you put up there in the emboldened? Change it to All.

Thanks for the info @Flexisafsupport.
Please as @NJN and I have requested earlier, I recently sent you an email for consideration of Skype interview. It will be difficult for us to make travel arrangement at this short notice given the high prices of flight tickets. Please can you find a way of allowing most of us outside the country now to participate in the selection process.
Thanks
