Good morning, I used UPRROOT systemic on my farm and it totally killed all my maize and also affected my plantain....it's quite devastating.

Now, i am left with advises, right, left and centre on what to do about the maize

1) forget the maize for now so as to give room for the plantain to recover

2) re-plant the maize, there is still time for it to grow

Please advice. Thank you.

How many acre/s is the farmland?

You should have used post emergence selective herbicides
The plantain might recover, replant those that did not recover.

Wait till Aug/Sept to plant the maize again for good money

And where is the farm located?

The farm is an acre and it is situated at Oteniya, idiroko way, off Alao-Akala Expressway, New-garage, Ibadan.

What is also meant by post emergence selective herbicides...Please explain further and give recommendations. Thank you very much.

There are no ideas to be shared from the question asked, only products (brands) of different usage according to the conditions obtainable on his farm.

why not share everything here since we are all here to learn, is not why the thread is form? Why diverting some to call or whatsapp you. If you want personally tutor some people differently then you should av indicated it earlier.

The Irony of it is that, when you even call, you get no attention, whatsapp too, no attention, email too will not be responded to. i have reached you to no avail via all these means and it is why i can say it.

What you don't know is answering enquiries here, answers so many peoples question and clear any doubt/fear they might be nursing.

I gave a woman ur number and she called you in my presence, you had to tell her to be calling you back at different times until late hours.

She did n you eventually told her to send you an email...how does a local woman do that?

If you were sensitive enough, you would have known from d way she spoke, she is not very literate and you were asking for email.

If you want to know everything about farming business, come to the farm.
Practical farming is different from theory and not learn online

So everybody has to come to your farm? Even those resident very far from you?

In every discipline i know there is usually theory background before practicals.

I do receive calls from many people who have gone through this thread to learn from what myself and other experience farmers posted from the first page to the last page whom I have never met. They have started their farms and doing very well.
And I have also hosted nairalanders as far as from calabar, Enugu,PH etc to our farms who are not satisfied and want to have indepth practical experience.its all about passion to start on a good note.
Reading this thread from A to Z alone will give you better insights and all the theoretical background you need.
If you need more explanation or clarity or you are having some challenges in any area, you can always call me; if you call me and I tell you to call me back, that might not be the best time to discuss which does not mean you will not be attended to when you call back.
