IMPORTED CARS AND MOTORS My brother, you are not far from the truth Here is the prove to that abeg Innoson Motors lays off 50 percent of workers By News Express on 14/01/2016
Share on inShare

Nigeria’s pioneer indigenous vehicle manufacturing company, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited, has laid off about 50 percent of its work force, News Express learnt.
A source close to the company blamed the development on a combination of declining patronage by government, high cost of the dollar and difficulty in procuring foreign exchange for imported vehicle components.
Whereas the immediate past Federal Government of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and Anambra State Government under Mr. Peter Obi encouraged and patronised Innoson, the reverse is the case presently, with the incumbent Anambra State Government under the watch of Chief Willie Obiano preferring to import vehicles from the USA and elsewhere.
“Things are no longer the same at Innoson and the vehicle plant at Nnewi has laid off about 50% of the workers,” the source said.
The source also disclosed that Innoson Technical & Industrial Co. Ltd., producers of motorcycle parts and plastic products, has cut staff by some 25%. He said that Company Chairman, Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, started the retrenchment exercise from the Emene plant in Enugu State.
The source told News Express: “Mr. Chukwuma addressed the staff late in July and announced that because of the bad shape of the economy, 25% of the staff would have to go home and wait till December when they would be recalled if things improved. The next day the list of affected staff was released and they had to go home after collecting their July salary. Of course, no one has been recalled because, rather than improve, the economy has become even worse since then.”

Jonathan regime really benefitted them. This is why till today, they are still bitter that he lost the election. Funny enough, the south-south where jonathan comes from have gotten over it, but an average Igbo person is still bitter today. They occupied all the federal posts and never cried marginalization. The only time an Igbo person will feel happy is if he sees the down fall of Yoruba people. They are the most useless and pathetic people i have ever known. Split on their dirty head. Credit: FKO81 First, I commend the time and effort that you spent drawing up this list. It must have taken you a while to put it together. But while I commend the efforts of the Igbo entrepreneurs you listed here, you should understand that there are also entrepreneurs from other ethnic groups especially the Yoruba, who have also set up similar things in the past, or are currently major players in the same industries, listed here. For example, PREMIERE BREWERY and EASTERN DISTILLERIES & FOOD INDUSTRIES LTD, which you listed as engaged in the manufacturing & distilling of spirits and wine, is actually in 3rd place behind International Breweries Plc which was founded in 1971 by Dr. Lawrence Omole. It commenced production in December 1978, with the launch of Trophy lager beer. The company was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1995, and its' portfolio has grown to include Trophy Lager, Trophy Black, Castle Milk Stout, Castle Lager, Redds, Hero, Grand Malt, Betamalt malt drink and Voltic Water. The brewery and corporate headquarters are located at Omi-Asoro, Ilesa in Osun State. It began production in 1978 with an installed capacity of 200 000 hectolitres per annum, this increased to 500 000 hectolitres/per annum in December 1982. Their distribution centres are in Ibadan, Lagos and Ilorin. Dr. Omole cashed in his assets when he signed a technical services agreement with Brauhaase International Management GMBH, a subsidiary of Warsteiner Group of Germany, which bought 70% equity of the brewery from him. Today, that same brewery has signed an operational services agreement with SABMiller. Dr. Omole is still the one smiling to the bank with millions of US dollars, in his pocket. GARBS ORGANISATION LTD and another company OZALLA PLASTICS ENTERPRISES LTD, which you also listed as firms that manufacture & market Plastic Domestic Wares and Containers, are actually learners when compared to Eleganza Group of Companies, the multimillion dollar plastic manufacturing company owned by Chief Razak Akanni Okoya. The Eleganza group of companies today employs over 5,000 people and has multiple manufacturing subsidiaries in several places like Oregun-Ikeja, Isolo, Alaba, and Iganmu; producing items like seats, shoes, jewelries, plastics, coolers, cutlery, ice chests, electric fans, cosmetics, pens, and a lot more. His group also comprises of a multi-million dollar properties investment arm called RAO Property Investment Company, and is generally one of the largest conglomerates in Nigeria today. Now, you also mentioned A.N. EJEAGWU & SONS LTD, as well as TOPAN ADVANCE AGRO PAPER LTD which specialises in Paper Converters/Conversion, Manufacturer of Toilet papers and Plastic bags/waterproof bags. However, they are still playing catch up when it comes to companies like Banrut Rolls Nigeria Limited -Abuja, the second largest manufacturers of Tissue Paper in Nigeria and neighboring countries. It is owned by Prince Samson A. Ataiyero and his wife, Mrs. Ruth Aina Ataiyero. The owner has a Full Technological Certificate in Automobile Engineering (HND) from Kaduna Polytechnic, and BSc Hons in Public Administration from University of Abuja. Hmmn... let me stop here. I really do not want to bore anybody with too many details. 18 Likes 3 Shares |

Finally, unraveling the big player and real owners, developers of Lagos When I see your people claiming they developed and own Lagos, I just shake my head at their stüpidity and ignorance. Anyway, Let's look into the top players in the real estate industry of Lagos:
1. Weyinmi Edodo: CEO of International Property Development Consortium (IPDC). He's a fine economist and an alumnus of Havard Business School (Real Estate). His remarkable works include TBNW terraces in Lekki Phase 1, Pine Courts Apartments by Femi Okunnu Estate and Lotus Apartment in Ikate Elegushi.
2. Gilbert Chagoury: A billionaire Lebanese-Nigerian who owns HiTech and ITB construction companies. He's also known for the development of Banana Island, Ocean Parade Towers to be precise. A 4-bedroom flat in Ocean Parade Towers currently sells for 1.695 billion naira and that's a flat not a separate fully-detached house. Over 6 billoin dollars has been spent on the Eko Atlantic City project and a penthouse is expected to sell for over two million dollars upon completion. This is what development is about, not hawking fanyogo and useless chest-beating.
3. Mr Kunle Tinubu: Also an alumnus of Havard who leads the Trojan Estate Team. Some of his projects include Royal Gardens Estate in Ajah, Peninsula Mall in Lekki, Peninsula Sports and Recreation Club in Lekki, Royal Gardens Estate in Abuja and the new Troy Court in Aguda, Surulere.
4. Sijibomi Ogundele: Sijibomi “Sujimoto” Ogundele is the founder and lead partner of Sujimoto Group of Companies, which comprises of real-estate, finance and energy divisions. The organization operates offices in Paris, Accra, Madrid, Dubai, Riyadh, and Lagos. With the umbrella of Sujimoto Investment Ltd. and its principal partner, Yazeed Alrahji, Sujimoto has been able to bridge the venture capital industry with more than 47 successful business acquisitions and restructurings. As the Chief Executive Officer of Sujimoto Construction, a real estate development firm, Siji is one man to watch – as far as the revolution of Nigeria’s prime real estate sector is concerned. The company, which describes its obligation as bridging the gap in the provision of quality, affordable, and luxury buildings, that are analogous to modern cities and towns like Cape town, Monte Carlo, and Miami, has over the years proven its mantle in this highly competitive field. With its flagship development in Lagos known as the Medici by Sujimoto on Milverton Road, Ikoyi to the upcoming Lorenzo by Sujimoto on Bourdillon in Ikoyi, the company has shown that it is force to reckon with as far as luxury real estate development is concerned in Nigeria.
5. Dun Salami: He's the CEO of Admiralty Homes Limited. He had tons of investments in Banana Island. He also owns Queen's Court, Silicon Valley and Victory Court, all in Lekki.
6. Otunba Olamide Osunsina: He's the CEO of Megamound Investment. His notable works include Carlton Gate Estate in Chevron Drive, Lekki and Lekki County Estate in Ikota.
7. Prince Olu Okeowo: The billionaire is the founder and chairman of Gibraltar Construction. His works include Abraham Court, Solomon Court, Grace Court, Emmanuel Court, Adejoke Court, all in Ikoyi.
8. Tayo Sonuga: In 2009, his housing projects were described as the most romantic homes in Lagos. Tayo Sonuga is the CEO of Haven Homes and his current project is Richmond Gate Estate in Lekki.
9. Yemi Idowu: He currently heads Aircom Nigeria Limited. The company has successfully completed and delivered Nothern Foreshore Estate, Friends Colony Estate, Napier Garden Estate, Egerton Place Estate, all in Lekki. As well as Bourdillon Court Estate and Milverton Court Estate both in Lekki.
10. Sade Gbadamosi: She's the Financial Director of Redbrick Homes Limited, the developers of Amen Estate located along Eleko Beach in Ibeju, Lekki. Feel free to watch
11. Tokunbo Ajayi: He currently heads Properygate Investment Limited. The company is renowned for most of the major developments within Crown Estate in Lekki.
12. Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi: The Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi although has recently come into prominence as a result of his emergence to the throne of the Yoruba cradle, he was never a minor in the real estate world. Through, his Gran Imperio Group, he was able to take Lagos real estate market by storm. His flagship project was Jacob Mews Estate in Yaba, while others are Southpointe Estate, Northpointe Estate, Lakeview Park 1 and 2, The Grand Lake Estate, Golden Leaf Estate, Yello Estate, Midland Estate all on the Lekki axis. He is also the developer of Inagbe Grand Resorts and Liesure, a a first of its kind Resort on over 3 million square meter land within a 100 kilometer stretch Island along the Atlantic Ocean. Located just a few minutes away from Victoria Island.
13. Adetunji Ogunwusi: He is the CEO of PrimewaterView Limited. Its track record includes the development of various residential/commercial properties in Highbrow areas such as Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Lekki, Lagos Nigeria. Its foray into luxury apartments dates back to 2006 when it developed a block of 19units of 3 bedroom flats and semidetached houses for Exxon Mobil Staff Cooperative society within 12 months at Oniru Estate in Victoria Island Extension and the very popular PrimewaterView Gardens Phase I (107 units) in Lekki, Lagos.
14. Folorunsho Alakija: The richest African woman, Folorunsho Alakija, is not resting on her oars to make more wealth. Among her numerous business investments is a real estate company called Dayspring Property Development Company Limited, which is currently developing her ongoing project, Rose of Sharon Towers.
