I won't write about other South-south States but Rivers State that I know very well. If a paternity DNA test is conducted in Rivers State one will trace at least 50% Igbo in all ethnic groups apart from Ogoni. A maternity test will yield at least 70% apart from Ogoni. So in a nutshell apart from Ogoni, all other ethnic groups in Rivers State are related to Igbo by blood be it Kalabari, Okrika, Ekpeye, Ikwerre, Etche, Abua, Odual, Andoni, Degema, Ogba, Ndoni, Engenni, Ibani, Eleme etc.

pls oga, leave those ijoid groups to prevent controversy.

That I am a Rivers indigene from an Igbo stock, Proclaiming my Proudly Igbo root is a problem to a guy here whose profile location is Ile-ife.
Had it been I denied being Igbo, he would have been happy.

Here's another question, gentlemen. This time, a hypothetical one.

If the Igbos' homeland was the Niger Delta, and that of the south-south groups was up in Igboland, would the Igbos have invited them to join Biafra?

So going and interfering with their marriage becos of a false sense of entitlement is wholly unacceptable.

Igbo dont share border with Yorbas.

Politically we are not ally rather foes.

So wat is the noise about marrying Igbo?

U want to use Igbo blood to cure ur Ugliness or inferiority complex issue.

U are a definition of parasite. U have jump from oil and gas to blood.

Did you mean your short women with their yam legs and big heads? There are both the ugly and beauty in every tribes. That ibo keep boasting about beauty on every thread shows their lameness and inferiority. Ojukwu was a beauty, right?

The Biafra issue is a different one and the view you have is that of one school. Igbos are comfortable having a country of theirs without South-south but the present agitation is political and all they are trying to do is to create instability because of PDP's loss to Buhari. IPOB doesn't represent Igbo stand but Jonathanian's stand.

Dat is a very wrong response.

This is y everybody envy Igbos, becos we are far too intelligent.

We even went as far as the North to bring Igala and Idoma, becos we will need to grow enough food for the country.

If u want to know the truth, then ask the right question.

The right question would be, would Igbo still be Biafra with the SS without Oil and Gas?

The answer is yes. The SS has open access to Sea, Igbo have land.

To the question if Igbo was in SS would dey be interested in the minorities of the SE?

Again yes, they have land that will be useful for the economy.

All this other factor aside age old cultural relationship amongst all these group.

SS/SE are the samething and the same people, two sides of one coin, just that alot of the people are daft due to poor education.

When did you consult the SS to agitate for one country with u or you want them to exchange one form of slavery for another more oppressive and humiliating?
Or your culture is to carry a lady from the highway because you want to marry her? In my own culture we call such an action abduction and that goes to show the level of respect you have for the SS and the difference between the SS and SE.

So where will the capital of Biafra be with ND?
Onitsha of course. This time they will send the Niger Delta money to Onitsha. kiss

The Igbos will never allow the capital of Biafra to be Port Harcourt or Calabar or Uyo etc. You can be sure of that.... The 'special brotherhood' doesn't extend to that level. In fact I see the south southerners becoming second class citizens in Biafra. They will be bullied.

We know the Igbo speaking areas that are our brothers

Ipob people are the ones still lumping south south as our brothers so you can go and sort things out with them. They are not representing igbos.

During GEJ's campaing in Enugu during the 2011 election, Jonathan's wife was the one who addressed the crowd in Enugu in Igbo language telling us to vote for her husband that south south and south east are brothers. Jonathan agreed with the wife. The numerous south south people that came with Jonathan never countered the assertion. Igbos in their open mind accepted Jonathan and his south south people as their brother and stood by him against all odds even uptill now. This could be the basis that ipob sees the entire south south as brothers to igbos. Stop deceiving yourself that its all about your oil.
All thru Jonathan's stay in power you people in south south never countered the assertion that south south and south east are brothers. Suddenly you ve woken up from your sleep and now you are pretending as if there was never a time south south people called igbos their brother. What a shame. . Continue with your hypocrisy but you cant deceive us . Its the IPOB miscreants that gave u people the room to talk trash.

Ask them if they have heard of any Igbo state dragging land with SS before...

in a normal sense, why will two state be sharing a community...

Just imagine..

Egbema is in Rivers and Imo state.

Ndoki is in ABIA and Rivers state...

And all these are oil producing communities...

If it were to be Afonja or aboki....they would have been dragging the community..

Igbo's are business minded, they do not have time for oil or what so ever
Thank you.

Just imagine the half-baked crap that the op is writing.
Imagine calling yourself Niger Deltan or SS.
Btw, what the hell is SS , and why don't we have NN or WW ?

Asaba, for example is classified as SS and Niger Delta State.
An Asaba person, being labeled SS and Niger Deltan , not by himself, but by others, deludes himself that he has more in common with a Warri (216km) person than he has with an Onitsha(30km) , Owerri (108km) and Umuahia(152km) persons.

I don't know what so-called studies the op purportedly did to come to the conclusion that no Niger Deltans are genetically related to Igbos.

In my local government, for example, we have been intermarrying and interbreeding with Ibibio, Efik and Annang communities for centuries.

The point is that Igbos no longer want to be a part of Nigeria, and do not need the approval of anyone, neighbor or not, to actualize Biafra.
Anyone who wants to stay in Nigeria in its present form is free to so. With or without Biafra, a good cordial relationship with neighboring communities or neighboring states is always good for everyone.

It's a simple yes or no answer.

And I told you to go ask Patience Jonathan and her husband "Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe" Jonathan who announced the brotherhood of south south and the south east to the world and even used it in all their campaign.

You can also ask ipob members who still claims south south is their brother. You don't need to be hypocritical here.

Before Jonathan's journey into the presidency, there was no noise about South east and south south being brothers. It was madam peace and her husband that blew the trumpet so stop telling yourself that it is your land and oil that made Igbos have interest in you, it was your leaders that blew the trumpet so your question makes no sense where the Igbos are.

Again you and I know that IPOB membership skyrocketed when Jonathan lost power because Igbos were angry over the defeat of Jonathan. Despite the threat by Buhari of 97% and 5% the igbos have remained on their stand against Buhari and continued their support for Jonathan with only a few of us supporting Buhari. Igbos are not backstabbers neither are they confused and hypocritical like some of you. When they want to support you they do it without fear of whatsoever intimidation.

I repeat, take your question to madam Jona and her husband who blew the trumpet of south south and south east brotherhood pls.

Why can't you people answer a simple question?

Another essay.

So because Jonathan said you were his brothers, to get your votes (since he really didn't do much for the SE), you are latching on to that to prove you are brothers? Hahahahahahahaha...... wink grin

But Osinbajo the other day announced that all Nigerians are brothers and should forget about break-up.

Did you listen to him?

Nah... There's no crude oil in 'Afonja land', so he can go to hell with his ''unity begging''.

Please, don't hold Jonathan responsible for your Love Nwantiti with the south-south. And it wasn't just ''after Jonathan'' that Igbos began calling the south-south their 'beloved brothers'. They've been doing its since the 1960s, when oil became a huge commodity on the international market. Ojukwu declared 'Biafra' and ensured he had guys like Major-General Phillip Effiong, and other powerless delta Yes men in his cabinet, to keep up the appearance of 'inclusiveness', even as total power lay in Igbo hands. Will a new Biafra be any different? I doubt it... The south south will play second fiddle to you, as usual.

I keep hearing Biafra proponents of Igbo extraction claiming to be ''specially related'' to the Niger Delta people.

I then began to conduct research into the alleged genetic or filial 'brotherhood' between both regions.

So far, I've been unable to come up with any special features that make Igbos 'closer' to Efiks, Ogonis, and Ijaws, than to say, Binis or Yorubas. In fact, during the course of my research, I found numerous examples of linguistic similarities between Igbo and Yoruba, over and above any other ethnic groups in Nigeria. Igbos marry far more Yorubas than they marry south-southerners.

So please, on what basis do Igbos claim to be ''special brothers'' with the south-south?

To the point that they are almost forcing them to join their new country?

Insisting that they must join.

It's a real mystery to me, this love and comradeship Igbos have for the south-southerners, to the exclusion of every other ethnic group in the country.

A real case of Love Nwantiti.

Please, can somebody explain the mystery to me?

A part from the fact that many Igbo communities have been intermixing with these minority tribes for centuries before the white man came, right? You'll find Igbo communities with high admixture from these minority tribes, can you really say the same for Yoruba and Bini?
