Please I'm totally in a disarray order presently.
My fellowship ordination is today gangan and I'm already seeing strong indications that I'll be chosen as either the president or evangelism coordinator.
My panic now is that I'm very weak spiritually, in fact the last time I read a bible/pray was February 2016.
Now, should I run away on the ordination day or what?
My heart is over bleeding.. .

Just don't submit to what you are not eligible for. It's just like when you're making a vow to God and failed to fulfil it(Ecclesistes5:4-5)

My candid advice is for you to just willingly tell them you can't accept the offer and give them a sound explanation-though you should tell the truth!

Both you and the Church doing the ordination are spiritually immature. You don't ordain someone until he is trained and tested.

May God deliver us from business outfits that parades themselves as Churches.

Even if you run away, the person appointed might even be worse than you. That's the irony.

At least you have a conscience. My advice for you is to not run away from responsibility but rather give it what it takes.

Thank you. The Bible teaches eternal security and is clear about us being saved by grace through faith which is not of ourselves Ephesians 2:8,9.

Here is a short article that is helpful

When people come to know Christ as their Savior, they are brought into a relationship with God that guarantees their eternal security. Jude 24 declares, "To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy." God's power is able to keep the believer from falling. It is up to Him, not us, to present us before His glorious presence. Our eternal security is a result of God keeping us, not us maintaining our own salvation.

The Lord Jesus Christ proclaimed, "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand" (John 10:28-29b). Both Jesus and the Father have us firmly grasped in their hand. Who could possibly separate us from the grip of both the Father and the Son?

Ephesians 4:30 tells us that believers are "sealed for the day of redemption." If believers did not have eternal security, the sealing could not truly be unto the day of redemption, but only to the day of sinning, apostasy, or disbelief. John 3:15-16 tells us that whoever believes in Jesus Christ will "have eternal life." If a person were to be promised eternal life, but then have it taken away, it was never "eternal" to begin with. If eternal security is not true, the promises of eternal life in the Bible would be in error.

The most powerful argument for eternal security is Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Our eternal security is based on God's love for those whom He has redeemed. Our eternal security is purchased by Christ, promised by the Father, and sealed by the Holy Spirit.

If we win salvation then its no more by faith.

Faith is by works, we won't receive eternal salvation if we don't confess. Our confession is a work which is also faith

One can draw back in the faith and as a result lose their salvation.
Paul said we are not of them that draws back unto perdition.

1 john 2:1, "this thing I write unto you that you sin not" writing to the saints in the church

Well, I still don't understand the concept behind eternal salvation, but my opinion is, once any1 sin, he's likened to the prodigal son who lost his salvation and his fellowship and he realised that and came back.

I think we need to read more of Matthew, Mark Luke and John and put them first always and not only that, using those four book as a guide in interpreting whatever the Bible state thereafter.
Thanks

True

Faith is by works , we won't receive eternal salvation if we don't confess. Our confession is a work which is also faith
Not really. Faith isn't equal to work. One is borne out of the other. Faith births works. Genuine Faith that is. So if we believe in our hearts, we would confess unto salvation. "unto" does not mean we were saved by by confession/work that would contradict Salvation by grace through faith. Rather we were were saved and received eternal life when we believed and then we inevitably confessed our faith. Inshort they happen so simultaneously that we cannot have one without the other But there is sequence. Faith first. Through it is a man saved. "whosoever believes has eternal life"
And whosoever has eternal life will not be mute but must surely confess it out.

But here is the problem. Many men have not this faith that by itself produces works in a man. And since they have not this faith, they go about establishing their own works and falsely equating it to faith like you just did wink If we won't receive eternal life until we confess then eternal life cannot be a gift but a reward for our righteous choice. But salvation is by grace through faith and this is not our doing but God's

Paul said we are not of them that draws back unto perdition.
The Bible is very clear about those who draw back, says they were never saved to begin with. This is well detailed in my last thread.

OK...

Well, I still don't understand the concept behind eternal salvation, but my opinion is, once any1 sin, he's likened to the prodigal son who lost his salvation and his fellowship and he realised that and came back.
Okay. So you think each time we sin we lose our salvation and then we have to do something (like coming back to our senses) to get it back but that would contradict the Bible. In the Bible no man was, is and would ever be saved except solely by grace. Grace means you don't deserve to be saved but someone bought your pardon with his blood. If you lose it when you sin, we would need another sinless person to shed his blood again and this would be an every minute, hour or day sacrifice, worse than the old covenant. Because without shedding of blood there can be no remission of sin. But thank God we are saved by grace. If we sin we confess to God who gives genuine repentance and turns us away from that lifestyle. Not you, but God does all these things inside of you.

I think we need to read more of Matthew, Mark Luke and John and put them first always and not only that, using those four book as a guide in interpreting whatever the Bible state thereafter.

I see what you are doing but my advice to you would be to go to God and he would teach you himself. You won't have to follow your own understanding but rely on Him cos there are so many things God has hidden from the world and only shows those that come with humility

I can believe and not confess, like the pagans do and lemme ask? how do you know someone is saved or born again if not that they confessed

Does his non confession even when he believes make him save

loooooooool, I would let that slide

Whosoever believeth in Him should not perish pls I would recommend matt mark Luke and John before that's where life is

An2elect2:

says they were never saved pls explain, with reference pls Well, I would be waiting

An2elect2:

Okay. So you think each time we sin we lose our salvation

ooooooh yessss, he that sinneth is of the devil, you lost it 100%,but we can always have it because it was freely given unto us from Genesis

An2elect2:

and then we have to do something (like coming back to our senses) to get it back but that would contradict the Bible. In the Bible no man was, is and would ever be saved except solely by grace.

Grace, do you know another name for grace is Jesus dying for our sins. That was why the angel at salutation said, hail Mary full(pregnant) of grace(Jesus)Titus2:11 John1:17, 2cor8:9

An2elect2:

Grace means you don't deserve

is it true we do not deserve? cause God told satan in Gen3:15, that the seed shall bruise his head. That was as far as the day man fell and you still claim we do not deserve

An2elect2:

to be saved but someone bought your pardon with his blood

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Forever has He perfected our sins, Jesus overcame and made a public show of luIifer and his angels.

Grace is Jesus overcoming and making us to sit far above that at the mention of his name the devil trembles. If the name is that powerful then Jesus does not need to come again, speak in a word, that's case close

well, do you know Jesus must need die Hebrew 2:14-15

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Lemme just tell you, everything in the Bible that you need is in Matt, Mark, Luke and John, I thought you would understand but I
would explain, everything you need present (Matthew Mark Luke and John) past (Gen to Malachi) future(Acts 2-Revelations) is
in Matthew Mark Luke and John
