Went for a test drive, and the growling from the wheels is no longer there.

The kakakaka sound when turning is also gone

I have gotten 2 quotes for the upholstery work, with a 1week duration for completion of the work. Both guys charged 50k each (like say dem get union ) I also found the stock interior complete @ 150k in ladipo.

I will be going with the upholstery option but will inspect previous work done by each of them to make a decision. This will be done along side painting and panel beating.

last time I updated, I indicated vehicle will go for panel beating. Unfortunately it didn't.
My preferred panel beater was under the weather so I skipped that and did other things.

Finally after a lot of back and forth, I settled for a set of 4 bridgestone tyres, 2015 W rated. I'll upload those pics specially in the morning.

Also got a spare tyre to go with them

Time for that VSA warning.

A scan of the vehicle revealed an error with the steering angle system, although it is clearly stated that there was a recall issue, I was not sure what parts were replaced during the recall.

So first thing I did was a live scan to see actually what was happening.

With the scanner connected, the steering angle is stuck on 0 degrees and does vales do not move when steering is turned.

There is also a permanent code that reuses to go when erased. .

I opened up the steering and replaced the steering angle sensor to see if the problem would be fixed

But taa, the error code was still there.

Let me briefly explain how the steering angle sensor works and what it does.

The steering angle system consists of a pulsar plate with markings at 2 points, and a sensor that reads the markings.

The module that controls the system, is also same module that controls the anti lock braking system, and it is found on the front right of the car just by the power steering pump.

Working from easy to hard, I am now faced with replacing the ABS pump which also doubles as the VSA module.

For this I took a trip to onyigbo (yaba) and hooked up with a great man called luvinghubby

I explained my current predicament and he handed a me a sharp toks ABSpump.

Without taking out the brake pipes, I extended the harness to the new part, went into the car and started it.

It was like magic, no more warning lights

Impressive results. I connected my old one back and put the new part in the boot.

I bought some other honda parts from him and went back to the workshop.

I removed the old pump, installed the new one, this was a great opportunity to flush out the old brake fluids and install new fluids, so after the installation I bleed the system with dot4 ATE fluid.

Next was to reprogram the new ABS/VSA system to the vehicle, it went seamless, and I am done.

The drive home was fantastic, no more warning lights.

Oga this your spare tyre.. Last time i travel, FRSC worry me ontop my doughnut tire, said it is not allow, said am suppose to put a regular tyre as spare, say dem go book me...
