On Saturday 15th of April 2017, OBASA SPECIALTY VEHICLE unveiled an all terrain vehicle named Tekowi, which was manufactured at the company’s factory in Ijero Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Speaking at the unveiling event, one of the brothers High Chief Johnson Obasa said Tekowi was coined from “te oko wi” an Ekiti local dialect which means sandals or boots farmers and hunters wear regularly to the bush to stamp on anything. He also said that TEKOWI is a combination ruggedness and luxury.

According to the other brother, Victor Obasa {snr} he stated Tekowi’s unique design features which are; 4 wheel drive, High ground clearance, Custom interior tailored to customer specification, Stereo system integrated with latest technology, Diamond floor plate flooring, Reinforced steel structure, Double utility storage, Engine air scoop and Name branding option, to mention a few.

He said that Tekowi is hand crafted with simple tools and locally sourced materials.

If you have read this book by Ryn Holiday "Trust me am lieing," you will very much understand how easy it is to get fake press coverage and falsified hype on whatever you are producing or servicing.

There are over 50,000 of good semi big scale businesses worthy of press cover in Abia state alone, but you don't see them making noise for fake PR.

And if you ask why don't the Igbos do same, well we don't need. Our products service at least 65% of the SS markets, more than 75% of the SE, and roughly 45% of the Nigeria market. With good plans to expand to more larger and greener part of Africa.

Even with the strangulating policies enacted by the government, a lot had been achieved.... More could still be done. Kudos to the Igbos
