Mynd44: Thanks Mynd44. Locking and deleting educative threads is not the best for NL. A lot of useless mediocre and propaganda threads are allowed to proliferate and run amock while intelligent ones are deleted. Most intelligent contributors are deleting their monikers and moving on because the intellectually capacity building NL is known for has dropped to sub-zero, while some of us only chose to stay to stop lunatics from a washing Internet with bad impression of our ethnicity and we go to other intellectual sites for high level discussion and knowledge sharing. Some of us have been on NL for more than 10years and we know practically all sensible contributors, ethnic but sensible contributors and hollow heads. You guys should let us know what exactly you want NL to be known for. This particular thread brought back a lot of old timers eg Katsumoto with their wealth of experience and foresight. Thread such as this should be encouraged and not some useless Biafrau.d will be better than heaven thread, Kanu is having his bath thread, Evans ate chicken yesterday, Hushpuppi is lounging on Atlantic Ocean, Tonto Dike is twerking threads that litter FP nowadays. The quality of contributors on NL has dropped to an abysmal mediocre and sub-zero level. Gone are the days when NL was a change agent in organisations, source of breaking news for traditional news media and information library for researchers. You guys should have an in-house discussion to tell us what NL is for. 13 Likes 1 Share |

laudate: Prolly to yank if off air again and again and again or perhaps ban the living cells off you "Alt Omoluabis' . . . . . . . kikiki. I hate myself falling in love with this thread looking back in retrospect ! . . . . .my really first serious evergreen contribution on Nairaland that I honestly thought would remain devoid of all "big brother" activities but seems I miscalculated big time and believe me you eh? I detest miscalculating! In years to come to when we look back on happenings out here, the ignoble role Nairaland is playing in providing a platform for many of today's negative political oddities/vibes would certainly be a centerpiece of our sober reflection and hopefully, it won't be too late I pray. To be bombarded with all things biafra round the clock out here? from the nonsensical postulation down to the outright ridiculous prognosis and deep-seated tribal hatred evangelism ever ongoing here sure sucks and to think the powers that be out here are so comfy watching all this carry-on and moderating this gravy train of mostly misinformation/propaganda/tribal hatred by yanking of sane threads leaves much to be desired. The swiftness and military precision all cerebral "Yoruba centric" threads get disposed off out here leave me more "confused than confounded". Honestly I don't mind if the powers that be have a closely guided narrative they intend to continuously push out by giving "a nod and a wink" to one group and bringing out the "whip" for another, all cool by me after all . . . . . . . "man is a political animal" but in the absence of any hidden agenda and more out of "tribal political correctness" for want of a better word than you much touted political wisdom and "sophistication" is certainly a celebration of ignorance yet again cos we all know if the tables were turned out here . . . . . we will hardly be allowed to air our opinions. . . . . . . .#dropmics 7 Likes |

For those who do not know, this is the Official GDP of all southwest states.Do you think Niger Delta will allow Lagos huge federal allocation if Nigeria is restructured considering that d money is from oil?Two do you think they will allow oil companies to leave their HQ in Lagos hence d huge revenue?Thirdly do you think investor will remain in Lagos once Calabar,Delta,PH and other sea ports start working due to restructure? 2 Likes |

You abuse other tribes in d past and got away with it but suddenly they came in and gave u ppl a full dose of what u want. Also ur betrayal and tribal attitudes compounded d whole matters. Before d exit of d last administration u teemed up with others to abuse d SS&SE but after election the SE came heavily on u careless of their mega bytes.Biafra came up and some of u looked for their troubles hence the heavy insult&abuse.Presently most of them v stopped posting on nairaland bc I don't see those user names again. You need to respect other ppl to be respected¬ to run them down at every occasion or conversation.thanks |

reality1010:Oga, you failed to do your research, very well. Most of the exchange of insults, use of vile epithets and ethnic slurs on Nairaland, were started by your folks. Kindly do a content analysis from 2006/7 to 2010. Even people like me who came from minority tribes were initially content to sit on the fence. But whenever we tried to make peace at the initial stages, we were dragged into the fray, called all kinds of unflattering names and visited with bile. So we returned the favour in kind. Abi, na who be mumu? At the end of the day, it depends on how you want people to perceive or respond to you. The ball is in your court. Those who sow politeness and respect, will reap it, while those who do not, will also reap the fruit of their doings. Peace. 7 Likes 1 Share |

~ MANUFACTURERS IN THE FOOD & BEVERAGE INDUSTRY ~ IN the 1980s, Olumuyiwa Oluwole Aiyegbusi was named one of the young Nigerian industrialists of the future. The US-trained engineer, who also had a stint with the Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO), Oshodi,Lagos, sells palm wine in cans; and this he does profitably in London, USA, Latin America and Nigeria using his company — Olu Olu Food Processing Company — as a platform. Now a conglomerate, Olu Olu has offshoots in different parts of the world. Having set out from his wife’s kitchen in London after leaving school in the US, Aiyegbusi’s success story is an interesting one. According to him, one of his American friends had foretold of his success during his school days some 30 years ago when he was doing a research for the NASA programme. He told The Guardian: “When I first came up with “Poundo yam”, I remember a British/Nigerian multinational company wanted to also introduce their “Poundo Yam” in 1988 in England. The company had to retreat. I made them to retreat, because, theirs was flakes, and when you prepare it, you will find lumps there. Mine was genuine and it was through innovation, research, and we are always aiming for the best.” 2 Likes

In the fast food industry, you Yoruba chaps have nailed it down. Look at it: From Sweet Sensation, which is owned by the Kamsons, to Tastee Fried Chicken owned by the Adebayo family, Tantalizers (owned by the Ayenis), Chicken Republic (owned by the Adeyanjus) etc,.... haba! No need for too much talk, abeg! Tantalizers is a leading Nigerian fast food restaurant chain. It opened its first location in 1997 in Festac Town, Lagos. This first location was initially a small neighborhood restaurant, serving hamburgers. Success at this first location led to an expansion that has seen the company and its franchisees open additional locations in cities such as Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. As of 2015, the restaurant has 50 outlets across Nigeria. Lady Kehinde Kamson, KJW, (born 14 August 1961 in Lagos, Nigeria) is a Nigerian entrepreneur, business leader, and philanthropist. She is one of the pioneers in the fast food sector and an outstanding female business leader in Nigeria. She is best known as the Founder and CEO of Sweet Sensation Confectionery Limited – one of the strongest brands in the fast food industry in Nigeria, which she started from a backyard shed and a tiny converted security house with just two used air conditioners and a few other refurbished scrap equipment, after giving up a lucrative accounting career. She is one of those credited with changing the competitive outlook of the Quick Service Restaurant industry in Nigeria thereby leading to the astronomical growth seen in the industry in the 90s and first decade of the 2000s. The birth of De-Tastee Fried Chicken Limited is a translation of an idea conceived by an industrious woman, Mrs. Olayinka Pamela Adedayo, which to the glory of God has transformed into a big organization and a great fortune not only for the owners, but also to thousand of families across Nigeria and the larger society as a whole. In the quest to actualize the idea, she established Tastee Pot in 1989 to render outdoor catering services to distinguished and discerning clientele across Nigeria. Chicken Republic is an ambitious, world-class modern African brand. It began operations in 2004 and have already opened over 65 stores within Nigeria and Ghana, making us proud of our hard-earned reputation as the fastest growing chicken brand in West Africa. 2 Likes

Even though I come from a minority tribe, I must admit that Yoruba entrepreneurs have foresight, vision and clout when it comes to making things happen, within an industry. Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base (LADOL) is West Africa’s Free Zone and Logistics Hub for Multinational, Industrial and Offshore oil & gas Companies. It is strategically located at the entry-point to Lagos harbour. Now the region’s largest base for rig and vessel repair, LADOL also provides 24/7 operations with a wide range of services and facilities – from cargo handling and inventory management to onsite hotel and recreational facilities. LADOL is a fully integrated, independent and secure base anchored around a 200m quay with a deep, 8.5m draft. The QUAY provides stevedoring and cargo handling with efficient discharge and loading of goods. The BASE provides all logistical services, including warehousing, material handling equipment, fabrication and assembly yards, people management, catering, bunkering of fuel and water, facilities for the supply of bulk materials, a helicopter base, open and closed storage facilities, sewage and waste treatment, potable water and medical services. LADOL was set up by Ladi Jadesinmi, a Nigerian oil baron who is one of the richest men in Southwest, Nigeria. His daughter Amy Jadesimi, who graduated as a medical doctor (MD) from Oxford University Medical School, is now the current MD of LADOL. Dr. Jadesimi joined the the Investment Banking Division, of Goldman Sachs International in London and attended Stanford Business School, where she earned her MBA in Business Administration. Another of Ladi Jadesimi's daughters named Emma, is now Britain’s first black marchioness, as she married Ceawlin Thynn, Viscount Weymouth, son of the current Marquess of Bath. LADOL is the first and only base specifically designed to meet the logistical needs of deep water offshore oil and gas operations and projects in and around Nigeria. As the first and only facility of its kind in Lagos, LADOL was created to ensure that the nation of Nigeria benefits directly from its deep offshore energy reserves. Manufacturers setting up on the base will find LADOL has excellent infrastructure, including telecommunications, sewage systems, water, fuel and transportation network. It also offers top-quality accommodations and recreational facilities. http://www.ladol.com/about-us/ LADOL advances in $3.8b Egina FPSO vessel construction 4 Likes
