1. What? Like really? Are you that desperate? You could easily clone an Igbo moniker and do so Nah, if you are this desperate. cheesy

2. Really? Your Arewa overlords don't think so though :

"...We also captured Ilorin, killed their local King
and installed our Fulani Emir. We took that ancient
town away from the barbarian Yoruba and their
filthy pagan gods. We liberated all these places
and all these people by imposing Islam on them by
force. It was either the Koran or the sword, and
most of them chose the Koran..."

I understand that the worst form of slaves are those not even aware of their bondage.

We all know that Yorubas psychologically believe they can't thrive outside Nigeria, which is why most of you lots are clinging tightly unto Nigerian unity, the last time you were on your own, Kiriji was the order of the day, and now, you are even more diametrically divided by Islam and Xtianity, with your Muslims brothers drawing you into eternal servitude to Arewa.
Analytical minds know why Nigeria is a safe option for Yorubas, it allows you to ignore your internal problems, while you continue to enjoy port monopoly and perks that come with it in Africa most populous geographical entity. grin

3. California has fiscal federalism in USA, USA don't run similar structure as Nigeria, yet there have been calls for California independence in the past. Moreover USA is not controlled by Indigenous people, it's a migrant nation, it's a poor example to use in this discussion.

4. Ndiigbo need Yorubas, you say, yet it's Ndiigbo who are pushing hard to secede while it is Yorubas who are fighting hard to preserve Nigerian unity by spilling Igbophobic rants all over the internet and devising many means of blackmail to force Ndiigbo to drop Biafra agitation.

Surely, something doesn't add up, and actions they say, would always speak louder than words.
Bro leave yorubas to worry for themselves. you see chains, we see jewelry. We're fashioned to excel in the midst of friends and foes, so we don't throw in the towel when things are tough.
We only restrategize.
What hausa's say concerning Yorubas is non of ur Biz.
Before the Existence of Nigeria Lagos was already a port city, ask Portuguese Explorers, English slave merchants and Edo Fishermen.
Where do you want Nigeria to build a seaport in your landlocked region?

Hundreds of igbo young men and women are presently in various parks in the east waiting to be ferried to yoruba land. Its a natural law that animals will always seek n relocate to greener pasture. So who needs who?

So the igbophobic rant is what is preventing the igbos in the north from relocating back to ala igbo despite the oct1 ultimatum. Chai

The
AG insisted that Lagos, a Yoruba city which was
situated in Western Nigeria must be completely
recognised as a Yoruba town without any loss of
identity, control or autonomy by the Yoruba.
Contrary to this position, the NCNC was anxious
to declare Lagos, by virtue of it being the
"Federal Capital Territory" as "no man's land" - a
declaration which as could be expected angered
the AG which offered to help fund the
development of other territory in Nigeria as
"Federal Capital Territory" and then threatened
secession from Nigeria if it didn't get its way. The
threat of secession by the AG was tabled,
documented and recorded in numerous
constitutional conferences, including the
constitutional conference held in London in 1954
with the demand that a right of secession be
enshrined in the constitution of the emerging
Nigerian nation to allow any part of the
emergent nation to opt out of Nigeria, should
the need arise.(Author(s): Tekena N.
TamunoSource: The Journal of Modern African
Studies, Vol. 8, No. 4 (Dec., 1970), pp. 563–584
[41] )
This proposal for inclusion of right of
secession by the regions in independent Nigeria
by the AG was rejected and resisted by NCNC
which vehemently argued for a tightly bound
united/unitary structured nation because it
viewed the provision of a secession clause as
detrimental to the formation of a Unitary
Nigerian state. In the face of sustained
opposition by the NCNC delegates, later joined
by the NPC and backed by threats to view
maintenance of the inclusion of secession by the
AG as treasonable by the British, the AG was
forced to renounce its position of inclusion of
the right of secession a part of the Nigerian
constitution. It should be noted that, had such a
provision been made in the Nigerian
constitution, later events which led to the
Nigerian/Biafran civil war would have been
avoided. The pre-independence alliance between
the NCNC and the NPC against the aspirations of
the AG would later set the tone for political
governance of independent Nigeria by the
NCNC/NPC and lead to disaster in later years in
Nigeria.

BTW Why take 'EVANS' paracetamol for our headache, we said we want to remain in Nigeria. Nah by force to follow igbo commot. Can't you guys respect our decision

In addition to the above,

Nnamdi Azikiwe specifically stated that with the non-inclusion of a secession clause, any attempt by any of the regions to seperate from Nigeria will lead to war to keep the country inseperable.

Gowon would eventually carry out that order with the "wise" Igbos as the foolish casualties.

Today, they lament about a unitary government, but fail to realise that the Igbo Aguiyi Ironsi made the choice for them and for the rest of Nigeria.

An Igbo man only loves the system if he is in control of it, else the system is no longer desirable.

Posted this on another thread, and the OP over there got quite mad: wink
laudate:
I pray that God will enlighten your minds to see the truth, understand it and imbibe it. sad Nigerians all over the world will buy a good product, irrespective of where it is made, provided it satisfies their need on 3 levels: It is durable, fit for purpose, affordable, and easy to use. wink

The problem with Igbo manufacturers is that they think production and sales are everything. What about quality? What about durability? What about after-sales support? What about distribution and logistics? What about pricing? What about competition? I have seen too many Igbo businessmen ignoring one or more of these aspects, at their own peril. undecided They are too focused on short-term gains, to the detriment of long-term sustenance of their businesses.

Take Innosons for example. How many dealers in the Southwest, Middle belt and the North, stock his cars or offer after-sales support on his vehicle. Very few. What has been done to sign-up dealers and open showrooms in various parts of the country? Very little. sad So how do people buy a product they are not familiar with, especially when the manufacturer is yet to spend time, money and effort building the brand? shocked

If an Igbo chap produces a good product today, in less than 2 months, his fellow Igbo man will take a sample of that same product to China, Taiwan or Malaysia and ask the Chinese to make inferior copies of it, for him. They do it to undercut their hardworking fellow Igbo man who has committed sweat, tears, and labour to produce his goods. Why?? Because they want to reap where they did not sow. That is why the incidence of fake products is so high across the Niger. By the time people who initially patronised the original product, now end up buying the fake version because they cannot differentiate between the two, they are left with a bitter taste in their mouth. And they will never go back to purchase that same product again. angry

When it comes to after-sales service, this is where many Igbo business men miss it. sad You buy a product from them which is supposed to have a warranty. The minute you leave their shop, and there is a problem with it, if you bring it back for replacement or repairs in a week's time, it becomes a problem. Instead of assisting you to resolve the problem, they will either ignore you or tell you that refunds do not exist in their dictionary. This is the easiest way to lose customers. undecided

Look at the lubricants sector for example. sad There are quite a few Igbo businessmen who produce lubes for the public in this sector. But you would hardly see them organising workshops, trainings, or gatherings for mechanics nationwide, to popularise their products. They do not have any anti-counterfeiting measures in place, to deter those that may want to fake their products. Within a short while, their products become unpopular and no one wants to take a chance by using a product they are not familiar with. undecided

A lot of companies take the principle of research & development seriously, as well as the practice of continuous improvement. I do not see this in a lot of Igbo-owned businesses. There are too many people copying what others have done, instead of going the extra mile to make their products stand out in terms of durability and quality. sad

I am a passionate believer in patronising Nigerian-made goods, but I will not do so at the expense of my good health or hard-earned peace of mind. Why would I buy a cable that does not come with a guarantee or warranty? shocked Why would I buy an untested piece of equipment when there are no referrals to show the product is good? How many Igbo-made products have been thoroughly tested and checked for reliability, consistency and durability, before it is released into the market? Very, very few! So please do not blame the consumers for being wary.

Let me stop here, before I offend some people further. Anyway, the key to getting a higher market share is to take note of what your customers want and provide it to them, in a way that does not leave them with a bad impression at the end of the day, so they can keep coming back for more. undecided

Atlas Oranto petroleum owned by Arthur Eze dwarfs all Yoruba owned oil exploration companies.. UJu Ifejika of Brittania U Nigeria and Ghana is the most powerful woman in oil and gas business in Africa.. Most of the companies Yoruba guys posted here like Gatwick Airport etc are multinational corporation in which a yoruba person has a significant share in them..They didn't start them from scratch... Just like the way Wale Tinubu is threatening Kachikwu to sell PH refinery to him without competitive bidding..What Yoruba people does is to lobby the government to sell National companies to them without properly following due process..
It sucks to be Afonja. Ugly tribe.

What is Brittania U and who is Uju Ifejika beside Folorunso Alakija of Famfa Oil and Agbami oilfield?

Who know Uju outside of her village? Does forbes know her like they know Folorunso Alakija?

You Igbos just brag like illitrates.

Imagine calling a nobody the most powerful woman in oil and gas business in Africa.

Who is Arthur Eze besides the likes of Wale Tinubu, Mike Adenuga, Otedola, Jimoh Ibrahim, in the African petroleum landscape?

Who has heard of Tokunbo Talabi? He is the owner of Superflux International that manufactures all the MICR-encoded chequebooks used by all the banks in Nigeria, Ghana and a few West African countries. His company is part of the consortium known as Bitflux Communications - Special Purpose Vehicle promoted by Bitcom Systems Limited and Superflux International Limited, to bid for the 2.3Ghz Wholesale Wireless Access Service Licence (“WWASL”) which was auctioned by the Nigerian Communications Commission (“NCC”). Superflux International Limited was incorporated as a private limited liability company in 1995 and commenced business in 1998 in Victoria Island, Lagos. It subsequently moved its security printing facility to a 12,000 square meter purpose built factory complex located at 3 Vori close, Ogba Industrial area. It has a staff strength of over 300 employees.

Its services cut across the financial, manufacturing, entertainment, education sectors as well as Government agencies in Nigeria and across several African countries. http://www.superfluxnigeria.com/about.aspx

Meet the young man redefining auto-parts business in Nigeria

23-year-old Dairo Damilola Opeyemi who hails from Ibadan, Oyo State is the young Chief Executive Officer of Autofactorng, redefining auto-parts business in Nigeria. Founder, Autofactorng, Damilola Dairo In a country where buyers culturally show an overwhelming distrust of salesmen in the automotive industry, Dairo’s innovative platform sells genuine auto-parts at affordable prices and delivers it to client’s doorsteps nationwide with warranties on every item sold is no doubt a breath of fresh air to car users. The young CEO’s rise to becoming a nationwide auto-parts supplier in less than a year of establishing his firm is based largely on his passionate ingenuity to provide car users in the country with genuine alternative to both sub-standard and fairly used auto-parts, ‘Tokunbo’ which overtime leaves buyers cheated and unsatisfied. After graduating from Bowen University in 2012, where he studied Physics and Solar Energy , Dairo who said he has always had a flare for cars ventured into the automotive industry in Nigeria by providing solutions in the aspect of car body repairs and painting. “Like every other graduate, the next point of call for me after leaving school is to get a job, but I know there is actually none waiting out there for me. So I went for a three months training in a workshop on car painting and body repair after which I proceeded to doing the business itself and this noble step is what eventually led to the idea of ‘Autofactorng’.

Tokunbo products are not new products, they are sold to users as genuine products which have been used and can never be better than new ones. To understand this, just Imagine that you are using a year 2002 Toyota vehicle and you want to change the shock absorber and you purchase it it as a tokunbo, that means the part which was manufactured in 2002 has been used probably for 3 years and you are now purchasing it as a product in 2015. What it means is that the shock absorber is 13 years old. Does it mean it is good or will last long? Where the problem lies for me with fairly used products, ‘Tokunbos’ is the fact that they are not safe.

We have had several customers who call to say, they will no longer buy parts anywhere else except from Autofactorng, others say the whole idea is revolutionary and besides some companies are already requesting that we send them business proposals on partnerships.” Narrating the challenges encountered starting the business, he said, “One of the predominant challenges we faced was designing the exact website that best answer our audience needs,as well as, offer them more services than what is obtainable in the market.” Also, getting suppliers who stock genuine car parts was equally tasking because hardly can you find a one-stop-shop for all car parts, especially when an average car uses over 30,000 parts. Creating awareness about the website and building trust was also an issue, despite the fact that most car users don’t trust their mechanics, they still believe it is better to stay with them than patronize a totally new approach to solving car related problems. But we have been able to win clients overtime by rendering quality services.” Despite his quick success Dairo said he has sustainability plans to keep his business growth. Apart from taking orders online via very interactive platform, we are looking at having a strong presence offline, building a full blown auto-part store where you can walk in and out with all kinds of car accessories/parts – fenders, engine blocks, batteries, tyres, etc. Assured that his firm, Autofactorng will in a few years actualise its dream of being the first auto part store in Nigeria, Dairo equally sees expansion into Ghana and other parts of Africa, “we are already getting calls outside Nigeria, most especially in Cotonou & Ghana and we have actually delivered products to Cotonou on several occassions.” Asked if he has a special business philosophy or formula, he said; ” I believe strongly in the acronym, P.O.P, which stands for Perseverance, Optimism and Positivism, this 3 keys will see a start-up through difficult stages which of course are inevitable in starting up any kind of business.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/06/meet-young-man-redefining-auto-parts-business-nigeria/

Gradually, we are facing out the dirty, fake unsafe and rubbish ibo spare parts and rebranding and modernizing the auto parts and this smart young entrepreneur from Ibadan is leading the way. grin grin

Apostle Oluwole Awotuyi does not want any baby to die, so he decided to donate a sprawling Emergency Pediatric Ward (EPW) to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).

The ward, an auto door entrance, fully equipped with instruments and machines described as second to none in African sub Sahara, by an Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics, Prof. Adeoye Adeniyi is valued at over N150 million.

Awotuyi, the Chairman of an Ilorin based Pharmaceutical Company, ‘Tuyil Industries Limited’ (TIL), according to the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the UITH Professor Abdulwaheed Olatinwo “has no business link” with the hospital but donated the EPW due to his philanthropic attitude and passion to serve humanity with his God’s given wealth. https://guardian.ng/features/health/awotuyis-lifeline-for-uiths-paediatric-ward/

It should be noted that, had such a
provision been made in the Nigerian
constitution, later events which led to the
Nigerian/Biafran civil war would have been
avoided. The pre-independence alliance between
the NCNC and the NPC against the aspirations of
the AG would later set the tone for political
governance of independent Nigeria by the
NCNC/NPC and lead to disaster in later years in
Nigeria.

This is a silly comment to make.

If at all there was a Seccesion clause in Nigerian constitution, it wouldn't have mattered, as the period it would have mattered in Nigeria, ie 1967-70 was dominated by the military who ruled by decrees and not by civilian constitutions. If not even the regions that were enshrined in the constitution survived Gowon and Awolowo touch, as they were divided into states using a military fiat, how then can someone speak of a secession clause?

That argument is redundant and mere clutching at straws by those who are looking for cheap blackmail to keep Ndiigbo in failed union with them.

Tamuno seemed to imply also from the above quote that it was disagreement over secession clause that alienated NCNC from AG, and United NPC and NCNC against AG, he is subtly trying to imply that AG became an outcast in the first republic because of the secession clause matter. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

This was why AG became an outcast in the first republichttp://www.nairaland.com/3780719/politics-first-coalition-govt-nigeria it had nothing to do with AG stance on secession clause, since NPC themselves were in support of the secession clause.
AG was not in anyway vehement about the secession clause, and neither was AG angling for Yoruba secession from Nigeria at that point in time, the secession clause died a natural death at the constitutional conference of 1954 and everyone moved on.
Bamenda that wanted secession and independence was told point blank that none would be given, she either remained in Nigeria or joined Cameroon.

Tamuno is a poor history revisionist.

Yorubas hate Ibos to disintegrate?

Just like Yorubas stopped Ibos from leaving the North?

Ibos and their deceitful lies. cheesy cheesy

Yorubas have been dancing all over the internet over the Northern ultimatum, hoping their Arewa masters live up to their expectations.

Somethings never change :Among the large majority hailing from that tribe( Yoruba) who are the most vocal in inciting the complete extermination of the Igbos. I often heard remarks that all Nigeria’s ills will be cured once the Igbos have been exterminated from the human map.” (Dr Conor Cruise O’Bien, 21 December, 1967, New York Review).
