[quote author=orenteasa post=58302626]please can I put 16 weeks old chickens in their laying cages? [/quote if you are introducing them to a battery cage at 16weeks,i wld say u are doing it too late. By nw they shld be used to it. Cos changing of their housing when it's alrdy abt tym to start laying isn't too gud. At 16weeks u shld b expecting 5% eggs,at 10weeks max,ur layers shld hv gone into their cages n get used to it....by d tym they are laying there wld be to interruptions. Pls cage them nw nw |

I experienced a month long drop in production of eggs. From 58 crates per day to as low as 39 crates. My birds are AMO, and even after lasota production drop further to 33 crates. Someone advised I use keproceryl, it seems to do the magic, I got 38, 39, 40, 42, 45, 48, 47 and today 48 again. My point is I want to return production to 58 crates, please advice me. Should I repeat keproceryl treatment, and if yes, what dosage? Should I repeat deworm, keproceryl and then Lasota? Please help. 1 Like |

They started laying one week ago, apparently layers don't lay according to age but according to weight and by extension Agrited LOHMANN pullets needs to get to 1.7kg at most before they start pushing eggs unlike ISA BROWN'S that weigh 1.5kg at the onset of lay but that's ofcourse under proper feeding. I've come to a conclusion that should your birds attain this weight earlier than 18th week of age, production will kick in, that's why people advice to feed ad libitum . vmacford: 1 Like |

Spot on! This is why I'd rather ISA browns to Agrited Lohman brown. That 0.2kg additional weight costs money if you have a large stock. razyduf: 1 Like |
