''Emergency what?'' Ken asked in surprise, wishing it was just his ears deceiving him.

''Emergency Ceasaran'' The doctor affirmed.

Nate and K.C ran in just then, but that didn't stop them from hearing what the doctor said.

''Doctor, please come again, did you just say Ceasaran'' Nate asked.

''Yes, the lady has pre-clampsia''

''Pre what?'' they asked in Unison.

''Pre-clampsia, it's a disease that affects pregnant women, after delivery or before delivery'' The doctor explained and they all nodded.

''What caused it?'' K.C asked curiously.

''It has many causes; first pregnancy, if she's carrying more than one, family history but the leading cause is High blood pressure''

Ken's hand instantly went to his head ''God, what did I do?''

As if he was enjoying the display of sorrow, the doctor added '' Mr Ken, we warned you not to stress her unnecessarily most especially emotionally, so why didn't you adhere to our instructions?''

''I'm sorry doctor, I...I...I...didn't do it intentionally'' he stuttered and his two friends began patting his back soothingly.

''Although, there's a high probability that she developed the high blood pressure before pregnancy, but that does not rule out the fact that she suffered emtionally''

Tears crowded his eyes and he wiped it with his palm ''Is she aware or should I go and Inform her''

''She should be aware, I sent a nurse in to prepare her for what she's about to undergo, I just need your approval'' The doctor answered.

''Is there no other way, I mean it's not yet time for her to give birth, can't you treat the disease without having to carry out C.S on her''

''It's for the good of the mother and child, Pre-clampsia can be deadly, it can cause death or coma, your wife already fainted once, that's to say, we have to carry out the ceasaran or you will loose both the mother and the child anytime soon''

''Do..doc...'' Ken stuttered.

''Doctor, go ahead with the C.S'' K.C interjected.

''Thanks'' the doctor said to K.C before turning to Ken once more ''We need you to deposit atleast two hundred thousand naira before we commence and also you need to sign the consent form before we proceed''

''Yeah, money is not the problem, just give me a minute to talk to her''

''Alright, she's in room 14'' the doctor said before walking away to attend to other patients.

''Will you both come in with me'' He pleaded with K.C and Nate who both looked at each other before saying 'No'

''You have to go in yourself, you both need to do some serious talking before she goes into the Operating room and you need privacy to do that'' K.C said to him, while kneading his shoulder.

''Alright'' he answered and walked off.

He was familiar with the hospital, so locating room 14 was not a problem, he got there and said a short prayer before pushing the door open.

''What are you doing here'' Vicky yelled and he froze on the spot, not that he was expecting her to welcome him with open arms but the way she yelled startled him.

''Ken, get out'' she yelled again when he made no move to go out.

''Darling, I came to talk to you'' He answered calmly.

''Oh! To talk to me about how your inability to stay faithful and keep your libido under control caused me High blood pressure? Or that I will need to undergo Emergency Ceasaran? Which one of them?'' she asked giving him a murderous stare.

''It's not like that'' He said softly.

''Ken, I don't want to see you face, just get out and remember one thing, if anything happens to my child or me, heaven will never forgive you''

''Vicky, you're taking things out of proportion, you don't need to curse me, Yes, i made a mistake but I regret everything''

''Ken, I am not cursing you, I'm only reminding you what will happen if anything happens to my child, Now get out''

Confusion set in and he sighed and turned to Queen, who has been sitting quietly, watching them ''Queen please help me beg her''

Queen nodded and turned to Vicky ''V, please forgive him''

''You too, get out this room, go, I don't want to see anybody'' Vicky cried out with her hands over her head.

''Ken, please go'' Queen pleaded with Ken and he nodded and left with teary eyes.

''What happened?'' Nate asked as soon as Ken walked up to them.

''She doesn't want to see me'' Ken answered.

''Nate stay with Ken, I need to go and talk to Vicky she's blowing things out of proportion'' K.C said to Nate, already walking away.

Nate gently walked with Ken to the chair opposite them and he began to console him.

K.C entered the room and met Vicky crying, although Queen was consoling her but it seemed like Vicky was pushing her away.

''Vicky, calm down and listen to me'' K.C said to her, placing a hand on her back.

''K.C, don't talk to me about Ken, If you really like me as a friend, just call my mum to come over here now, she's the one I need now not Ken'' Vicky replied with tears.

From her voice K.C understood how hurt she was.

''Alright, we will send for your mum, let me inform Ken''
