vizkiz:Just my thought on this matter, how about the job opportunities that this move would bring, if only you know how much leaves the shores of this country in the name of recording movies. But my take is it shouldn't just be the movie industry, it should also be applicable to other sectors e.g the health sector 1 Like |

Hotshawarma: As if bad power supply has ever stopped them shooting videos. There are some nice music videos shot in Nigeria. Infact, I find most of the ones done abroad bland. E no pass half naked girls shaking yansh. Aye video by davido still remains one of his most watched videos. I like Jamb question , Mr Soldier videos of Falz and Simi, Looking for Johnny video of Yemi Alade. Etc. I understand the challenges faced in Nigeria, so don't think I don't. At the same time too, any video shot abroad provides an economic boost to that country, more jobs for the locals there. In the long run, Nigerians will still benefit from having videos shot in Nigeria. The only thing I'm not sure of is the legality of such a declaration 1 Like |

eyinjuege:And that is enough for a sane government to make shooting videos outside the country a crime??even some of the best hollywood movies is shot outside America....a good government should focus more on enabling good environment for business to thrive in...have a good day |

Hotshawarma:Obudu, Tinapa and Marina resort in cross river aren't bad idea. It mustn't be Lagos all the time. Even in the north, there are good locations to shoot musical videos |

Abeg govt should bring policies to stop themselves from going abroad for medical check ups and treatment when we have the best of doctors or are they saying they don't trust our medical systems? If yes then we might also say we don't trust Thier intentions in all these policies. |

We know we have great locations, but where is the light, who is taking care of the locations, before you do or stop things you create an enabling environment richeeyo: |

geosegun:Yes but look it from most Nigerian youth perspective and that of producers. Do you remember when omoni oboli complained of shooting a movie in Lagos that she was held hostage, What has the government done about this ?.Secondly has the government created an enabling environment for music producers to strive? Why not encourage producers to shoot movies in Nigeria by giving them incentives to motivate them instead he's clamouring for banning. That's how things are done not just banning. But again his policy maybe in the right direction so we should take his advice in a pinch of salt for our own good |

This brings to mind, the issue of BBN, shot in south Africa for the Nigerian audience. Though the government is not good we all know that but somehow two wrongs don't make right. Tell me what requirements for the BBN production we don't have in Nigeria. With all the discrimination south African pay us back with. If we fix some wrong we are getting closer to promise land but if we let everything halt, that is bad 1 Like |

richeeyo: Bros please show us some of those locations... And by the way the examples that this old fool is giving is from working countries... Those guys are supporting their film industries... Aside Goodluck's administration, which other administration has shown these guys love ? These artists and actors/actresses single handedly upped their game and grew the industry... One the Lai Mohammed is seeking to destroy with their usual bad policies? Which foreign actor will want to come and waste his hard earned cash on locations that are Not safe With bad roads Community youth problems aka agberos No security Very unstable electricity Stupid videography laws (I hope you heard about the law for using drones) Bros, we have more pressing issues right now. No be film and music be our problems And someone should tell that fool to call his co-horts to stop educational and medical tourism as well as vacations abroad and as start buying home made products... Then maybe we will start listening to him Rubbish. |
