Iblawi1: yes maybe or maybe even VPN or maybe neither anyways i am curious, u said that service provider is in France, is it legal? |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Iblawi1: 10:50pm On Jul 20, 2017 |
nemesis2u: Well, not sure if it's legal but I've seen a vsat that route all packets to Israel first and uses Israeli IP. So I just assumed it could happen to someone else. I only experience it with that ISP then and I guess it some kind of backup for their main link. 1 Like |

Iblawi1: well bro i have no explanation to offer, i am at complete loss of worlds after i read the post u should ask the guy for the name of the ship borne radar which can detect submarines, i will surely recommend my navy to buy it at the earliest. and to think of the billions of dollars wasted on sonars by almost everybody. and also plz ask him to explain how the ship borne radar manages to break the laws of physics ie overcome the radio horizon limitation in order to detect a submarine below the radio horizon. as for anti clutter radar , just ask him to be more specific like which ship borne radar has the capability to reject volume clutter and surface clutter in a heavy sea state in order to locate and identify a tiny periscope . and ask him to be precise and technical i am not in the mood for a english comprehension lesson plz get him to reply @ https://www.nairaland.com/1962290/african-militaries-strictly-discussions-thread/17 5 Likes |

frumentius: I don't think they made alot. Last time i read, i think they've made only 7 units. I could be wrong, numbers might have changed, but that is the last publicly available figure i saw. |

Henry240:That's the danger with only relying on news reports. You're quoting from the initial order of 12 back in 2012. Those 7 were only assembled in Uganda. Since then, Twiga has moved production to Uganda and only the engines are re-manufactured in SA. The annual figures are there in the NCACC reports of how many of these engines are exported to Uganda. |

Yet another example of others eating our lunch. We were testing jet-powered UAVs as far back as 1989 . Hell, we even went into stealth UAVs with the Flowchart technology demonstrator. If memory serves, out of Flowchart came the Seraph in about 1996, able to fly 1 300 km at a speed of Mach 0.83 at 40 000 ft, carrying an 80 kg payload of either optical cameras, a synthetic aperture radar or electronic surveillance sensors. http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48601:overberg-test-range-hosts-first-flight-of-jet-propelled-uav&catid=35:Aerospace&Itemid=107 Overberg Test Range hosts first flight of jet-propelled UAV 3 Likes

patches689: Shhhh...they fell off the back of a truck . Like NATO's Link 11 data link -which they snootily told us, "You buy non-NATO Swedish jets? No NATO data link for you." Well, that also fell off the back of a truck and we developed Link ZA -analogous to their Link 16 (and perfectly compatible as proven in the Good Hope Exercises) faster than the 20 years it took them. After all, it's going to take us a very long time to track and close down all those hundreds of global front companies set up to circumvent sanctions during Apartheid. "African time" and all that... 2 Likes
