Re: My Baby Is Always Crying. Should I Ignore Her. by Nobody: 4:17pm On Jul 20, 2017
How old is the baby to start with? And how does the crying start? Just like that, or when shouted upon or what? If you want concrete and good advice then you have to give us more info

do you attend to her properly incase of food and other necessary things? if yes den don't pamper her always cos dis children you're seeing are very wise when you give them something today; come tomorrow they ask again until it becomes a must. you should not beg your child all d time to stop crying cos sumtyms its part of Der life. train dem now so u will not train dem later.

Where is the mother?

You need to give us more info.

How old is the baby?
When does she cry?
Why does she cry?
Do you feed her adequately?

I am sure if she can talk, she'll tell you her problem straight up. Crying is her means of communication. She could be hungry, her diaper could be soaked, some of them cry when they are feeling sleepy _they want to be cuddled to bed or maybe she wants attention cheesy.

She is a year old. My wife is a worker and left the baby at home for me to tend to. I am a landlord and work less. My wife presses breast milk into feeding bottle before leaving for work.

I know of a baby of about 11months that is the same way. It can be very frustrating. This one can cry for an hour nonstop. Her issue is that she wants attention...always wants to be carried. You can't even drop her and step into the kitchen or take your bath. She screams, shouts, cries uncontrollably, it is annoying. She just wants to see you around her or for you to carry her.
The problem was with too much carrying and "gumming" the baby to body everytime. From when they are born, you need to put them down to sleep on their own and play on their own as the grow up. When the baby gets used to being carried all the time, sleeping on your body all the time, stopping the habit after months will be hard.
As it is now, your options are...keep carrying and giving her attention or ignore her and allow her to cry it out. She will tire after a while.

You sabi jare. Some babies can be pretty annoying. There's this lady that used to drop her kids for me to babysit. Her youngest son would cry at the drop of a hat. Every time she brought them to my place, I cringe inside cuz of her noisy kids. One unlucky day, they came as usual. The boy started his noise. Screaming and screeching at the top of his voice. I just looked at him, carried him to my bedroom, removed all the harmful substances within reach and locked my door. He screamed and screamed till the guy sef tire for himself. He kept quiet after two hours of crying nonstop. I opened the door and saw him sitting quietly on the floor, just waiting for me to release him. Since that day, that particular kid respects me even more than his mum. When he gets home,he starts his screeching but when I come visiting, he just parks himself to one corner quietly.

The point is that some kids can be very naughty. They do stuff to test the limits of your endurance so they can see how much they can get away with. Same goes for those choosy and picky eaters. I dealt with one like that too.. grin

True! My baby is 7 weeks old and was getting used to sleeping on my body, she sleeps well but once I put her down, she won't stay up-to 3 minutes before screaming.
I stopped it overnight ,don't start what you can't continue with babies!

Guess the baby is use to much attention and too much 'gum body'

Please, my advice is ignore anybody that advices to let the baby cry. Always give her attention. You can try carrying her while walking arround each time she satrts crying.

I know a lot of millionaires in lagos that are praying day and night for just a baby, and someone adviced you to let yours cry.

Crying never killed a baby. According to my neighbour, the child is trying to see if she is a soprano or tenor singer.
Children grow up to always wanting to have their way and throwing tantrums when they dont get it because of too much of allowing a lot of things slide. Whether or not billionaires are looking for children doesn't mean a child should be over indulged. The parents get to bear the brunt of it later. They cannot escape it.
My friend is suffering and complaining because she cannot even cook, bath or even breathe without her baby screaming to be carried. I told her to back her and take her bath.

Congrats!! God bless your bundle of joy.
I love babies and i have always studied them. I took care of my sis baby when she resumed work and i gained experience..lol. You are really right...dont start what you can't continue.
There was a baby i met when i was in Ibadan. That one can hardly be dropped. It is constant carrying even when she is sleeping. The mother didnt get a lot of help from neighbours helping her babysit cos the baby was too much work. Your hand will pain u. I felt for the mum. I pray i learn and not make the same mistake out of love and excitement.

if u are sure nothing is wrong with her then allow her to cry, at a year old, your baby knows what she is doing, and should be able to communicate and show signs of what she wants, I'm sure she understands little instruction such as ":
stop that!
leave it!
sit down!

if she starts crying tell her to keep quiet and give her a. ssssshhhh sign, if she doesn't sit in front of her look straight into her eyes, show no pity let her cry her eyes out.

at 1 learning has started, dnt allow her manipulate u.

she will soon learn That her attention seeking attitude won't work

Thanks! ...lol. met one too in the hospital, the boy was almost 3 ,couldn't stay without the mum for 1 second, he follows her even to the restroom undecided, it was really annoying, nobody told me when my hands, waist and back started paining me. ..too much excitement especially for 1st time mothers ,I couldn't sleep too without carrying her on my chest (as if they were going to steal her grin)

.it's not easy watching your little bunny cry but they need tough love.
