Increasing the no of teams is not the problem here but improving the quality of football in Africa. Afcon has declined greatly.

So no more excuse not to qualify for us. Gone are the days when leaving the nation´s cup at the Semi final stage was considered a failure. The standrad of our football is so bad now, that if we manage qualify for the competition alone is now an archivement.

Well the period of June to July is noted for heavy rains within the west african region which could create waterlogged pitch or abandonment of matches during heavy rainfall. Hosting nations in this region should start investing in better facilities like covered stadia and good turfs. A welcome development, long awaited.

Do they have enough funds for this?

When many African teams can't even participate in qualifiers due to non availability of funds (example is Chad during the last Afcon qualifiers).

It is a welcome development for African Football as this will allow other countries to showcase their football artistry. Africa football will experience a turn around in terms of sponsorship, marketing and global acceptability. We are catching up with our European counterpart and this is the beginning of greater things to come in Africa football

Good development on the one hand. European teams with African players will love this news. they won't have to loose players to the Nations cup mid-season. on the other hand, The average African climate during June/July may affect the players with fatigue.

when it was 16 team

poverty wouldnt allow some countrie to host cos you must have at least 4 stadium

now that it is 24 can they now afford 6 standard stadiums?

cameroon currently is struggling to provide 4 stadium, will they now provide the 6 required or Morocco should just take over
