RIP bruv. Many of the road contracts in Nigeria don't include drainages at all.
Nigerian society of engineers, architect and civil rights have all failed us, they are all in positions to educate us more so we could engage our leaders properly.

They should give independent opinions on ongoing road constructions, so we either ask the govt to forget building the roads or do it right.
As citizens also we need to stop this I don't care attitude, we all should start taking pictures of ongoing projects in your localities and bring it on this forum for expert analysis.

Our corrupt government is thriving because they have a docile and uninformed populace.

The drainage system in our cities needs to be overhauled holistically,
We as a people must inculcate environmentally friendly habits,
We should desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse on drainage channels,
We should strictly adhere to the masterplan by sticking to it and not build on water channels

It's high time state governments invested in geospartial Digital aerial mapping,
To give way for redesignation of an environmentally friendly masterplan, taking into cognizance of the challenges of today and avoiding the mishaps in the future,

Guy, this is primary school knowledge na. When a people refuse to plan their society and their lives this is what you get. Nigerians build houses anywhere and anyhow. No drainages, no roads, no town planning and you expect not to have problems. Plus they are dirty as phuck throwing trash into the few drainages meant to curb situations like these. How the phuck does a city in the north have flood for instance? It is like having flood in Saudi arabia. You guys don't plan and worse is you don't take responsibility for your lack of it. It is always someone elses fault. Another problem is a lot of you don't have the necessary schooling to solve any kind of problem. How do solve a problem when you don't know what the problem is hence your question. Unbelievable. What a people. Smh.

Lol...I'm not talking about Lagos. I didn't hear of such rampant flooding last year, and the year before that - at least not nationwide. So common sense should tell you it has something to do with the volume of rainfall and maybe deforestation, which can both be linked to climate change. And I've been creating ideas and solving problems since I could write. Problem-solving is second nature to me, so tell me something I don't know.
