BullBearMkt:
MARKET GATHERS MOMENTUM AHEAD OF WAVE 5
Since the minor pullback of NSE ASI in the first week of July, market has witnessed low volume to push the price up. However, market reinvigorates itself by providing the necessary "power" needed to commence Elliot wave 5. If the increase in volume as witnessed on Friday is sustained, overcoming resistance at 34,350 will not only be easy, but it will also introduce the beginning of wave 5.

From Elliot waves rule, wave 5 which is an impulsive wave is expected to be longer than corrective wave 4 but lesser than wave 3. It is expected wave 5 will likely take NSE ASI to 2-year-high seen in April 2015 or above.

What is needed to accomplish this are more momentum and "energy" (drink) - volume.

Gradually, July 2017 is proving the statisticians right that in a bullish environment, July is likely to be more bullish than bearish. However, August is around the corner and statistically it is the most bearish month in the calendar year since 2002. In a bullish condition however, August has a 50% chance of ending bullish but in general, the chance is reduced to 27% based on available data since 2002.

grin grin grin grin grin

Some of the companies with good half year result will experience a minor bull in August and the market will gain momentum(balance) from september and that is when i am coming back to the market with my hidden cash.we wait to see.

MY COMMENT ON OANDO, FBNH, DANGOTE FLOUR

I refer to my previous posting on OANDO. The stock went below my projected 1st support level by about NGN1.00 . And price is now back to the previous range before the SEC issue. What this price reversal to the trading range is telling us is that the insiders are confident about the fundamentals of the company, at least in the short/medium term. We should not be surprised if the recent low is the lowest the stock will make in the next few months. It is equally probable that the company will end up winning the bid to carry out the maintenance of one of the refineries. This is the information I can gather from the recent price action behavior of the the equity.

On FBN. From the technical as well as the fundamental (my own style, this time relying on the past history for the school season/wide public holding of the stock). There is a strong supply level at NGN7.28 to NGN6.93. The stock is likely to find it difficult moving substantially beyond this level If I hold this stock, I will look forward to selling about end of August (if the earnings, generates positive reaction which move the price) and them will think of buying afresh by end of September, good demand point is 5.93 to 5,71 . The chart indicating the immediate supply level is attached. I am sorry, I cannot give more information here as to how I arrive at this my opinion. Apologies to the die hard supporters of FBNH, but let us see how the market will move. This information is just for guidance purpose only

DANGOTE FLOUR
. The economic fundamentals still favors the industry where this company belongs.. If I have bought, I will stay put, till the expected earning report is made public. Closest supply point is 5.20 to 4.78, all things being equal, I expect the price to jump above this level due to the pending earnings report. The closest demand level is equally 4.32 to 4.04, what this is telling me is that on no circumstances should I allow the price to fall to this level before I sell (need to sell far from this point) if the total market turns bearish, as this will be a good point to consider a re-entry.

I have discovered that the use of this supply demand system has simplified my buying and selling, such that I can comfortably ignore monitoring the stock prices everyday, just look at the prices twice a week and my investments are still safe as I can determine what to do some few days ahead. And this system seems to have compressed so many indicators to simply 2 levels. Let me give a gist here, I am into Afriprud, my supply level indicated supply levels as 3.10 to 3.10 and then 3.00. If for the coming week, I only decide to look at the daily price list on Wednesday, price show 3.10, I will be preparing to sell some quantities about 3.00 to may be 3.08, this make life simple and easy for me. Note that I am not saying Afriprud price will fall, but this is just my personal plan for handling my investment in Afriprud.

Dangote flour q2 result will not come with interim dividend, based on some of their shareholders statement in their AGM, that company will recommend dividend IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS.
If am not wrong, it means from next two years or thereabouts.

BELOW is where the statement were made

Shareholders applaud Dangote Flour Mills’ return to profitability ON MAY 25, 20172:34

AMIN BUSINESSCOMMENTS By Naomi Uzor

SHAREHOLDERS have applauded the board and management of Dangote Flour Mills for returning the company to profitability after years of losses. They urged the management to create more awareness for the company’s products saying as they are of high quality and in line to global standards.
Speaking at the company’s Annual General Meeting held in Lagos, a shareholder, Alhaji Muktar Muktar commended the Flour Mills management for returning the company to profitability as well reopening the closed Kano Mills, adding that, the reopening of the Kano Mills contributed to the increase in sales volume recorded by the flour mill.

He said that with return to profitability after years of losses, shareholders are encouraged that the board will recommend dividend payment in the coming years.
He said that the turnaround in the fortunes of the company is not surprising as any investment associated with Dangote produces results.
He tasked the management not to relent in ensuring that the profit recorded in the 2016 financial year is surpassed in the coming years. He stated, “I want to commend you for this result. It clearly shows that this board is highly proactive and ready to tackle the problems of this company.

You have significantly reduced the accumulated losses and reduced borrowings; I believe that under your leadership we should be able to receive dividends in the next couple of years.”

Idowu Monsur, another shareholder speaking at the AGM specifically tasked the management of Dangote Flour Mills to ensure that all their products are available in all the markets. He said that the same way Dangote Cement has dominated the cement sector, the company should dominate the flour products market.
According to him, with the high cost of rice, availability of the products will compel people to shift to consumption of pasta instead of rice .

Bankers can be funny if you not confident and know what you are doing.

I was in my bank this morning to get a loan, the officer first asked of where I work. I told her that I am self employed, then asked for the name of my business which I gave to her.

She then asked for my account number and that of my business, my business and I both have an account with First Bank.

After she saw the turnover on the account she was impressed, asked for the value of loan I needed and duration of the payment.

She then asked for collateral, I didn't want to use my shares, but my Treasury Bill Investment as collateral.

She said for her to ask to proceed with the loan application my Treasury Bill MUST be converted to fixed deposit. Because there was no way she could place a lien on Treasury Bill, since it is in custody of Central Bank.

I reminded her that what I have in NTB is 5 times the value of the loan, and when the TB matures it would be paid back into the account.

I told her to forget about the loan that I was no longer interested, before she spoke to her oga and the man told her that my loan application will fly.

I have applied for the loan, the lady has called me thrice today apologising for her behaviour. The fund should hit the account by next week.

I am not sure if First Bank scrutinizes the guys who took loans of about 200 million dollars which went bad, like the way they scrutinize small guys and businesses who need just N1 million or less.

Finally got the loan at 25.3%, but was told that if I had used a fixed deposit as a collateral I would have gotten a loan from them at about 17%.

WHY PRICE ACTIONS IS THE GUARANTEE KEY TO PROFITS IN FINANCIAL MARKET
Professional Technical Analysts mostly focus on price actions (+ volume) to constantly make profits in stock and any financial market. The reason is simply that it informs TA of investor cum traders emotions, which include greed and fear. The secret of any financial market is - emotions rule the market, either short- or long-term. Anyone that can control his/her emotions while risking hard earned money will continue to make substantial gain in the market.

But BullBearMkt, Technical Analysts also make use of indicators, are these not important to make investment decision? Yes, indicators are good, but as they are called, they are ONLY GOOD TO INDICATE. They are lagging. Before indicator signal a buy, price most often is ready to fall, but sometimes, you still have few room to make money... ONLY USE INDICATORS TO INFORM YOU THAT WE IN AN UPTREND, A DOWNTREND, OR NO TREND (RANGE).

How then can I best use price actions to make constant profits? There are 2 major ways that price actions can be used effectively. These are:
- For Trending market
- For Ranging market

You've heard that, "the trend is your friend several times". This is true. But what you weren't told is that THE MOST GAIN IS MADE WHEN YOU GO AGAINST THE TREND! shocked This gambler has come again to bamboozle us. No I am not a gambler neither do I come here to bamboozle anyone on this forum. But you know that, only 25% of the time do we have trend in the market and the remaining 75%, market is in a range - just moving side-ways.

My discussions here will only be limited to using price action in a trending market.

The first price action to discuss today is called A PIN BAR. A pin bar (or hammer/hanging man) is very powerful as it shows exhaustion between the buyers and sellers in the market. A pin bar has a long tail with the "price-close" very close to high or the low. There is a bullish pin bar and bearish pin bar. A bullish pin bar shows the exhaustion of sellers and buyers are now ready to take control of the stock - it has its price close close to the high, while a bearish pin bar is verse-versa. See chart 1.

A pin bar is not very useful on its own. But it becomes very powerful when it appears on Support or Resistance level... I like the way @yok calls it - Demand and Supply levels. A pin bar that occurs on a weekly support or resistance level is more powerful than the one on daily.

In an uptrend if there is a price dip, look for the next daily or weekly support (or demand) level, then if price action shows a bullish pin bar, then know that the bears will soon be swallowed up by the bulls and price reversal is imminent.

How do I know that that the stock is in an uptrend? An uptrend is when the stock price is making Higher-highs and Higher-Lows. But if that is difficult for you to grasp, then plot 20, 50 and 200 EMAs on your chart. If the stock price is above the 50 and/or 200 EMAs, then we are in an uptrend. But most importantly, stock price must be making Higher-highs and Higher-Lows.

Why is this important? Many stocks are exhibiting this price action on NSE... Check weekly charts and take advantage of this price action to profit in the market.

PLAN YOUR TRADE AND TRADE YOUR PLAN

...I don't know of any website that can do that for NSE data, but let me show you how best to do it:

1. Pick a stock of interest and display it on a Daily chart (e.g GTB)
2. Identify swing highs and swing lows for the past 2 years and put a line across each swings (blue lines chart 1)
3. Join the the swing highs with swing lows together with horizontal lines, like a line of best fit between the swings (black lines)
4. That is your Support and Resistance

Don't borrow money to invest in the stock market if you don't not have the cashflow for the payment of the loan, but hoping on the stock to appreciate in order to pay back the loan.

People got 6 to 12 months loan to invest in FBN immediately after the AGM when the stock was selling for less than N3.50.
