IMO, this government has done great in terms of military. The only problem here is transparency which we've always have for years and again is keeping track of orders. If we were serious, we would have those JF 17 on ground since. We need to let them know we're paying for things and we can do and undo. To be sincere, I love PMB but as a military man, I expect him to concentrate more on military equipments and not just boots on ground. 2 Likes 1 Share |

IbnSultaan:Thank goodness!! I've always wanted us to get this as a QRF vehicle. Cameroun and Ethiopia use the GAIA Thunder in this role. We also saw the Plasan Sandcat used by the Senegalese in Mali. Is this for the Air Force? So, where is the ARA? GAIA Thunder, below 4 Likes

Cc:kabe1 On funding, the company received investments from her parent company. Fully 100% privately runned and 98% Nigerian workers/specialist. The Remaing 2% goes to whatever ToT. However, the ToT are mostly on design while the technology used for the products belongs to the Nigerian company and are being protected by the company's patent. 6 Likes

kabe1:First of all he is not illiterate & pretty sure he knows more than all of us in this tread. He is the CIC so show respect. Dont allow others says about him be your own thinking use your braine instead they all afraid of him because when he say corrupt officials in prison he actuality do it. For the Military he is doing a great job the nomination of the current CoAF tell everything. The Armed Forces are building more on communition than equipment must of the founds are directed on that area (talking about the stuff we are doing with Sweden) maybe he is not that good in oral art or mathematics but he is very smart in stuff like the military the respect other soldiers give him says everything. Knowledge is very large if for you, you are only intelligent when you are only good in economics so I am very sorry for you because even military stuff are very hard to anderstand we only know the name of different ships vehicle etc proposed by companies who advertise they product and what the US armed forces told us in documentaries thats all when you look inside you see that the military is another world with so many things ... Before saying smeone is illitarat go try this Alma mater Nigerian Military Training College, Mons Officer Cadet School, U.S. Army War College + Governor of north eastern state, Federal Commissioner for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund, ALL THE WARS HE DID & most important x2 times President of the federal republic of Nigeria 5 Likes |

kabe1: Watch again, you can see south Africans mixed in amongst the American patrol I also suspect that the "ambush" was done by South Africans... We sent down guys from 4 SAI to play BLUEFOR and a company of guys (from a battalion I can't remember) to play OPFOR Which is great because I think this is the first time we have dedicated OPFOR from a separate battalion |

CAPACITY BUILDING: NAF COMMISSIONS ANOTHER ELECTRONIC RANGE IN BAUCHI In its continued efforts at boosting the capacity of its personnel in weapons handling and marksmanship, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commissioned another Electronic Range at its Base in Bauchi. Today’s commissioning brings to 2, the number of electronic ranges commissioned by the current NAF leadership to sharpen the marksmanship skills of NAF personnel. The electronic range contains state of the art facilities that are comparable to those obtainable in the best military institutions around the world. With the commissioning, the NAF is further positioned to make savings for the nation in terms of the logistics requirements associated with conducting the normal range exercise. Speaking during the commissioning, the Special Guest of Honour, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Barrister Mohammed Abubakar Esq, commended the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, for his sterling leadership qualities and for the invaluable sacrifices the NAF is making across the country in ensuring peace and security. “Truly, the NAF has amply demonstrated professionalism and discipline in the conduct of its operations across various spectra. This will no doubt have a multiplier effect on their fighting ability towards ensuring the security of this nation”, he added. Earlier in his remarks, the CAS stated that the provision of electronic ranges is in line with his vision of repositioning the NAF into a highly professional and disciplined force, especially considering the nation’s current security challenges. “An essential skill for all NAF personnel, be it air or ground crew, is good weapons handling and marksmanship. Consequently, building the capacity and skills of our personnel in weapons handling has become particularly important in view of the various security challenges confronting our dear country”, Air Marshal Abubakar stated. The CAS also announced that an electronic range would be commissioned in Port Harcourt in due course. In a related development, the NAF also commissioned 3 newly constructed and fully furnished Messes for the airmen/airwomen, senior non-commissioned officers and the commissioned officers in Bauchi. The Messes will provide an informal environment for personnel to socialize, relax and recreate towards fostering esprit de corps. In addition, a newly built and fully equipped Air Force Primary School was commissioned in Bauchi to meet the educational needs of the dependants of NAF personnel and members of the host community. The CAS had earlier in the day paid courtesy calls on the Bauchi State Governor and the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, CFR. DOPRI 1 Like

tdayof: This is absolutely fantastic! Thanks for sharing. I always wondered why we aren't in the communications business, seeing that a little country such as Namibia is already doing good in that sector. Great news all around. We could integrate this on a Proforce vehicle or an Innoson military vehicle. |
