With Rudiger and Bakayoko in the squad we should be looking for a way to switch to a back 4 abeg.

Having an extra man in defence is useless when we battle teams with solid midfield.

Overall it was a tough performance but one that will have got the rust out of the players legs and is better preparation than a comfortable defeat to lesser opposition. I am always wary when Chelsea go through pre-season undefeated it feels like it has the opposite effect than you would expect. So I am choosing to take this defeat as a positive rather than a negative and think other Blues fans should too.

Bayern lost more than once pre season, which would be shocking if pre season mattered for anything except fitness and trying out new tactics, but it doesn't.

This is a moot point really. There is a reason why ninjahs were beefing Conte last season for playing Matic ahead of Fab, despite never having been a fan of Matic's all along.
