Nebuchadnezar: There is the distinct possibility that this hands the governorship to APC by default. You can be sure they will defend the voting wherever they want to even if they have to turn the SE into a military garrison and import voters from outlying areas. No I don't defend this as right but I do think it's fair to point out that it is a serious likelihood. The losers with be the APGA Something tells me that some people are already licking their lips at the possibility. |

I remember the census. It is the genesis of the marginalisation rant. My neighbors refused to be counted that year. When the FG allocated funds to the SE, lesser than that of other regions, they started crying foul. Are you people not "underpopulated"? Some amendments were made in the Constitution yesterday and NONE OF YOUR IGBO SENATORS MOVED THE MOTION FOR A REFERENDUM. Is this not buffoonery at its finest? Boycott the election and let the wrong person occupy the office. Idiots. 2 Likes 1 Share |

nopains: Oga sir, i am from Anambra State and not a fan of Obiano and i respect Nnamdi Kanu but i am not also an IPOB but we need to get some things very clear here. Anambrans are about to make a huge mistake. There is no electoral law that stipulates a minimum or maximum number of voters in an election. I think Nnamdi Kanu is getting it wrong this time. On the day of election, even if it is only the immediate family members of obiano and that of the other aspirants that vote for them respectively while you and others sit at home to eat Nsala soup, their votes will be counted and a winner will be announced. Let's say that nobody even votes at all (which is 100% impossible because even just 2 votes count), then the President will appoint an administrator from any where of his choice to administer over the affairs of Anambra. He (the President) can decide to appoint someone from Enugu or even someone from Ogun state or even from Kano. What do you think will happen next? You will then have an outsider lording over the affairs of Anambrans in Agu-Awka and the person will siphon the resources meant for the people of Anambra to his own place. Is that what you want? Will that bring about the said referendum Nnamdi Kanu is talking about? People will protest and when they do, the said administrator can order the police and army to shoot all the protesters and NOTHING WILL HAPPEN! Let us not make the mistake we made during the census population. During that time, a lot of Anambrans refused to be counted "with the simple reason that they are nt Nigerians" and now, Anambra is suffering it today with very little resources allocated to them because the allocation to a state depends on her population. We igbos keep saying that Hausa people "amaghi ife" but when you look at it, it is looking like ndi ugwu are more wiser because during the census, they will go and hire mercenaries from Niger and Chad to boost their numbers and that is where allocation of a state like Katsina is higher than that of Anambra. During elections, they make sure that they come out en-masse to vote while we are here saying we will eat OFE NSALA...Now tell me...kedu ndi odi ka fa bu ndi nzuzu? Put on your thinking cap! 2 Likes |

Decryptor: bro go and read what the military decree we call constitution says. in absence of a governor his deputy takes over,in absence of deputy governor the speaker of state house takes over,in absence of the speaker the chief judge of state takes over. so the issue of appointing a sole administrator does not count here. i know some people must vote that day but the decree-constitution says the winner must get 1/3 of votes cast in 2/3 of all the local govts in the state. 2 Likes |

Masterclass32: I must say i support gubernatorial elections to hold in Anambra. IPOB calculations on boycott of local elections leading to a referendum is just wishful thinking. We already know INEC will lie and say APC won if we didnt vote. So what good is it to hand over a key igbo state to your sworn enemy then turn around and protest the collapse of education, non payment of salaries, no hospitals not to mention workers owed 3 years salary? Please we should look for how to boycott presidential elections and help our brothers in the niger delta in stopping oil flow to get resource control . Those are better strategies than to seek complete death of credible leadership in tbe southeast by removing our ability to select responsible leaders. 2 Likes |

We need more of enlightened Anambrans like you to speak up against this unlettered army of illiterates that have invaded the cyber-space yelling ''no election in Anambra''. Incidentally all these people are not even Anambrans, so why do they want to bring confusion in the state? We the genuine Anambrans must speak up and put this miscreants where they belong, if not how could they believe that the boycott of Anambra election and it's attendant down-sides could hand them their utopian Biafra. We should not allow any i.diot to sway the advancement and development that is being witnessed in Anambra. Enough of this nonsense from this #CLOWNS. ChimaAdeoye: |

Emmaxx: I am a hardcore Biafran from Oraifite in Anambra state. None of you can claim to want Biafra more than i do.but we must not burn down Biafraland just to chase out rats in the house. That is the power of wisdom over emotion. You people cannot assure that Biafra will come in 6 months or even 6 years. So why ask the people to comit suicide? Like agitation against apartheid that started in the 1960s and ended in the 1990s you must know freedom takes time and you must not ask the people to die before the day comes. Your prescription is like saying since the fulanis wont leave Biafraland we should burn down the region until they do. The art of strategy is to figure actions that will hurt your enemy and spare the people. Bet me, Anambra people support Biafra, but they will vote in November elections simply to maintain some normalcy of life and basic services as we agitate for freedom. 1 Like |

Masterclass32: This is arrant nonsense. It is said that “he who is the ground fears no fall”. These fools cannot difference between boycott and no election. The idiotic government of Niger-Area can conduct election in Anambra State but almost entire electorates of the state wish not to participate. What good have other elections conducted in Nigeria brought to Ndigbo? I am in support of total and absolute boycott of future elections in Igbo land conducted by tyrannical government of Nigeria led by the amorous and maniacal goon named Mohammed Buhari. |

allrightsir:What a beautiful nonsense! A complete vituperation of hogwash. What a veiled attempt by a scared unity beggar to cast aspersions on IPOB because he knows that IPOB is succeeding. Hear the dude, "they should form a party and contest election to install pro Biafra candidates" Election that would be under the auspices of INEC. Election a partisan zoo judge can easily nullify with orders from Abuja. The best thing that could happen to Biafra achievement is a total boycott of Anambra election and subsequent ones in Igboland. Why are you guys now so interested in our wellbeing? Wow, I never knew that Afonjas love Igbos so much like this. You can arrogate yourself as the only reasonable person that wants the best for Igbos, but do us a favour, SHOVE THAT YOUR GREEK GIFT OF AN ADVICE DOWN YOUR THROAT, BIAFRANS DON'T NEED IT. DerideGull: I don't know where you're from, but electing better leaders since the end of Mbadinuju's term has brought a lot to many ordinary Anambrarians. In peace and security. In road and rural infrastructure. In the welfare of workers and pensioners. Sure, Anambra is not Switzerland, but while it can get much better, it can also get much worse with the wrong leadership at the helm and if the kleptocrat godfathers like the Ubas that continue to circle Anambra politics like vultures are able to profit from the chaos of election boycotts to mobilize enough support to win, it certainly will get much worse. You mindless, emotional cretins have simply proven incapable of engaging your brains in strategic thought and you exemplify the reason Igbos are a political non-entity in Nigeria. No tact; no cohesive strategy; no diplomacy. Just utterly gullible, naive and emotional and a general laughingstock. 2 Likes |

ChimaAdeoye:You may want Biafra as you claim, but obviously, your personal interest in Obiano/APGA is apparently overriding your interest in Biafra realization. Why are you using high sounding words like there is going to be Armageddon if the Anambra election is boycotted. FYI, the total boycott of Anambra election and subsequent others across Igboland will hasten the collapse of Nigeria and the emergence of Nigeria. Even if doing so will cause us some inconvenience, then so be it, NO SACRIFICE IS TOO BIG TO MAKE FOR BIAFRA, AFTER ALL, SOME HAVE ALREADY PAID THE SUPREME PRICE FOR IT. WE EXPECT SUCH STATEMENT LIKE THE ONE YOU MADE BECAUSE COMMISSIONERS, CRONIES OF OBIANO, FAMILY AND FRIENDS, AND SUCH OTHERS THAT HAVE PERSONAL INTEREST WILL WANT THE ELECTION TO HOLD FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. 1 Like 1 Share |

proeast: Typical emotional ramblings. Instead of tackling his arguments, you're foaming in the mouth like a rabid dog and with no sense of irony, started talking about "vituperation" among your other verbose ramblings. And working on stupid conjecture. So, a minority party like APGA that have been winning elections in Anambra is because of "partisan zoo judges", abi? Okpo. True change is either enacted by policy or by force. Thousands of touts, miscreants, petty traders, hawkers and okada riders gathering in squares all over the east to make noise and worship a charlatan like programmed zombies, and internet e-warriors throwing vile insults all over social media is no substitute for doing the real political work needed to effect change. Or gathering arms and taking up what you want by force. Everything else is empty noise. So Brexit or Scottish independence or Quebecois independence or Catalan independence or South Sudanese independence agitations were or are getting fulfilled by touts in market squares making noise, political boycotts and internet battles? 1 Like |

proeast: An incredibly foolish supposition. For starters, anyone with brains knows a "total boycott" will never happen. Just highly suppressed voter turnout. My extended family alone, both on my maternal and paternal side, most of the pensioners, active civil servants (both state and federal) and corporate employees while not necessarily intending to vote (they hardly vote anyway) certainly don't support any boycott. It's mostly the young traders in Onitsha/Nkpor that make all the empty noise. The thought that voter indifference would somehow force the Federal government's hands is incredibly gullible. You're one brainwashed sucker. |
