Then Ironsi imposed a unitary system of government on the country so that everything can belong to a region who snatched it!

You had earlier said that Gowon created the states, so why are you asking me the same question again, after you had supplied the answer earlier? Go to your elders like Chief Ben Nwabueze, a constitutionalist, and ask him to educate you on the constitutions of Nigeria.
Regional system of government was in place pre-66 coup. Aguiyi Ironsi abrogated it by fiat and replaced it with a unitary system.
This he did strictly with the connivance of igbo military and political leaders including Ojukwu, Azikiwe, Nwafor Orizu, etc.
Azikiwe, Nwafor Orizu and Okpara were all in Nigeria while the operation lasted but were not touched. I don't think it is out of place to assume they were an accessory to the fact of the coup.
