We are in the same situation. You will need to obtain a temporary or provisional license to practise in your nominated occupation.

How can one get that? Or go about it? Will it stop one from being nominated even if one gets the minimum 60points for nomination?

I know I’m expected to ‘graduate” to our senior thread on Nairaland i.e. “Living in Canada” ….so with time, I’ll gradually wean myself off this thread.

Posted PP Friday, they received it Monday, MyCIC account updated to "Approved" on Tuesday, PP sent back on Wednesday & courier delivered to my house address today. The caveat is that I submitted from outside Nigeria ...so I guess that's why it was mega fast.

Sir/Ma'am,

To be honest, I don't know if all the apps get to Sydney CIO first and get distributed across...even though I find it quite logical. What I can tell you for sure regarding CIC procedures is that the more you look, the less you see. There is no exact logical correlation or sequence regarding the processing times, VO etc. which is understandable as there are key playing factors that are beyond our control neither can they be regarded as constant or ignored.

We can only hope and pray that the VO doesn't get rest until he completes the processing of our apps. Lol.

While we wait (which I must confess maybe tough to do) for them to finish their senrenre, we can keep ourselves busy by preparing for life in Canada.

I am confused as well as to the entire process. My AOR is May 21. Been on Ip1 since June 30 and email response says application still at CIO, Sydney, NS....... angry angry angry

Hi Erhnie, Did you change your VO after PPR to Accra? That you had it stamped there ....

Greetings all. I currently have a CRS of 409 but have another IELTS scheduled for August 19th. Would you advice me to join the pool or wait till the results from the August test is released. 409 seems like a low score and I don't expect the draws to get as low as 409, at least not till I have results from the forthcoming test, so left to me I'd stay out till I take the next test. However, I'm thinking about what the implications of joining the pool are. Would I have to cancel the profile or update once I get updated IELTS results? Advice please!

You have nothing to lose... Jump in.

When you new results are out, just update and your score changes accordingly... no need for a new profile at the time.

All the best!

If I understand your question well, I will say No I didn't change my VO (I don't even think candidates have the power to change VOs or choose VOs). Also, my PP wasn't stamped at Accra. Please note that not all people on this thread are applying from inside Nigeria.

Hope this answers your question?

From October 7th, 2013 till date is a total of 3 years 10 months.

So does this fall under "two to three" OR "four to five" years of work experience?

Do you mean work experience in Canada? If not, 4 to 5 years doesn't matter... 3 years gives you the maximum points for work experience in Nigeria...

Not for the work experience in Canada. I'm not using the crs calculator now, I'm checking eligibility for the EE. The question asks how many years experience I've had within the past 10 years, the options are "none, less than one, one, two to three, four to five, six or more".

Well... it's less than 4 years, so I'll say 2 - 3 years... You should note though that they mean all work experience cumulative. So if you have others besides this company, then it would be 4 -5 years.

For example... Adding NYSC if you haven't, makes it 4 - 5 years.

To clarify the bolded, Candidates can choose to change the VO after they have received PPR request. This is highlighted in the "Ready for Visa" Email. I was of the assumption you submitted to Accra. Anyways thanks for the answer. Congratulations again

U'r welcome.

Yes you need to send your Master's degree certificate as well. No need to pay DHL, just send it as an attachment to your Uni and ask them to enclose it alongside your transcript to be sent to WES

Many thanks!!
