NAF DEPLOYS AIR ASSETS, PERSONNEL TO KAFANCHAN TO KEEP PEACE As part of efforts to ensure lasting peace in Southern Kaduna, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deployed an armed helicopter with force protection elements and other logistics support to Kafanchan. The deployment, which is at the instance of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, would complement the efforts of the surface forces already on ground to keep peace in the area. The personnel and other supporting staff will operate from a newly established NAF Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Kafanchan and will be reinforced with the NAF Special Forces to protect lives and property towards stopping the incessant clashes in the area. The NAF also recently deployed air assets and personnel to Takum, Taraba State to maintain peace and provide air cover for the ground troops in the area. It is equally worthy of note that the NAF has made appreciable contributions in different theatres of operations across the country and has also extended its reach. The latest expansion was the commissioning of 213 FOB in Katsina and the Quick Response Wing (QRW) in Daura as part of its continued efforts to extend the reach of the NAF to the Northwest Geopolitical Zone thus reducing the NAF’s response time to crisis situations in the Zone. It will be recalled that lately, Kajuru Local Government in Southern Kaduna erupted in violence due to communal clashes in which lives and properties were lost. DOPRI 4 Likes

walemoney007:Please stop this thing of muslim/christian. Here we talk about Nigeria... When Buhari was here boko haram was still doing raids we all know this, this is a successful raid thats all period. And more we are not genuise here but we try to be the most objectif possible! All those things that you have said are from A to B false. If you want to understand why when Buhari came in office the army regained most of the lost lands is 1) GEJ has bough new equipment and they were fully used when Buhari became President 2) Buhari has boost the moral of the entire military because know they can trust the FG because the late administration was so corrupt that they were stealing the money intended to buy weapon know thats have change 3) BH is not coming back and the chances they will have the power they had in the past is to small, meawhile the military already told everybody now they are going to use the hit and run tactics otherwise " RAIDs" |

walemoney007: Why are you guys always posting ignorant stuff?. You guys are showing that Northerners have more sophisticated minds when you post beer palour, public transport discussion stuff on social media Boko Haram is being defeated massively that is why they are doing desperate things to feel relevant. The NNPC is to blame for this by deploying to the field without security plans. 100 soldiers escorting 20 civilians on a road trip is a stupid security plan. The guys should have been ferried by chopper from place to place . The same dumb mediocre behaviour in government is the same dumb, brain dead thinking on social media. SMH And yes, the Nigerian Army only freed a few of the captives 2 Likes |

Adminisher:I don’t think it’ll be easy to airlift their geological survey equipment. It’s possible but at least uneconomical, remember they drilled 23 wells of which 21 were said to have prospects of crude oil, we dont know the area of land being discussed but imagine what it’ll cost to airlift 20 civilians, with their heavy drilling equipment and security detail to all 23 different sites. |

jakeporeshenko: It is every week airlift to locations in the Niger Delta. The NAF could even do the airlifting and back charge NNPC. Everybody keeps his brain dormant and goes through routine stuff in the office day in day out in Nigeria. MI 17 helicopter will carry any size of exploration equipment |

Adminisher:But those key assets are being utilized in the fight against BHTs, to deliver supplies, move high ranking officers and so on, they can’t be used to for crude exploration. I get your point though, there are many private helicopter firms operating in Nigeria that would have loved to take on such challenge as long as the reward outweighs the risk. 1 Like |

This was a successful mission for the ISIS faction of boko haram. I guess they want their leader released. I hope we remember the leader of this group was arrested alive some months back and everyone taught they were gone for good not knowing they were on the drawing board. |

INCIDENT REPORT ON THE SUICIDE MISSION OF 92NA/34/413 SSGT ABUBAKAR YUSUF IN GEIDAM: The above named SNCO is a personnel of AHQ AWAL/G who was inducted into OP LAFIYA DOLE with 1 Bn (159 Bn) fol the units rtn fm UNMIL in 2016. The deceased was subsequently depl as one of the Escort team to the CO. Sadly, at about 201545A Jul 17, the head of the vigilante gp in Geidam notified the unit of the above incidence which thereafter, a team led by the CO proceeded to the scene and cfm the incidence. Meanwhile my source reveal to me that, the sldr was the person who fired at himself while trying to test his new acquired jazz (Juju) for bullet protection. That he first of all fired at his hand and the bullet did not pass through before he went ahead to blow his head as u can see fm the picture below. Another source cfm that, same SNCO is well known over the issue of acquiring jazz. That while he was in 231 Bn which was his fmr unit, when u give him 100 bullet he will get 100 tgts. A BOI has been constituted by the unit to unravel the circumstances surrounding the suicide incident. Comment: This is another unfortunate and sad incident. It is sad to notice 2 deaths invol own pers within a week which is being cause by the victims leaving their families to suffer. The first was the sldr who travel late and make himself vulnerable to death while this SNCO went ahead to kill himself bco of jazz. This is to proof that, only the power of the Almighty last for ever. Otherwise, every other acquired power is useless and deceitful. ASA may wish to advice tps to always keep believing in God almighty who gives the only lasting protective powers through our holy Books. This is a lesson for all. Pictures below. |

COUNTERINSURGENCY OPERATIONS: NAF DEPLOYS ADDITIONAL SPECIAL FORCES AND EQUIPMENT TO THE NORTH EAST https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOv7Qb6LrPk The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has introduced additional measures aimed at increasing its operational capability in the ongoing counterinsurgency operations in the North East. The measures include the deployment of additional NAF Special Forces and personnel of the Regiment Specialty to reinforce Base security and also fight alongside the Nigerian Army troops and NAF Special Forces that were already on ground. In addition, the NAF has deployed thermal imaging cameras aimed at adding more value to the current efforts at detecting and checkmating the activities of suicide bombers before they carry out their suicide missions. This follows the spate of suicide bombings that have been recently recorded in Maiduguri. The thermal imaging camera uses infrared and reads temperature differences up to an appreciable distance away and can identify a person at an acceptable distance. The cameras, which are mounted on NAF aircraft, can also penetrate obscurants such as smoke, fog and haze. The NAF, in recent times, has stepped up its counterinsurgency operations to further decimate the ability of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) in the North East. The focus has largely been the conduct of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions as well as interdiction missions on identified BHT targets. This is in addition to range of other air operations and humanitarian intervention schemes aimed at winning the heart and minds of the populace in the conflict areas. The NAF remains appreciative of the support it is enjoying from Nigerians in its efforts at putting an end to the madness in the North East Geopolitical Zone of our country. Dis camera's certainly needs lots of them handy to make an impact on the theater, when I heard from the security meeting held by the vice president and service Chiefs..... I was hoping procurement would be ordered and not Camera's for crying out loud. The Maiduguri spectacle would have been avoided if our troops had just 2 MRAPs in dat convoy to act as shield and suppressive fire. We should do the right things though Nice ones on the cameras as a start. 1 Like |
