You have good point. Don't be surprised that even in a group chat of just 100 people, only 10 are active. thats the reality of all this group chats.

That means even if telegram boast of 700 members in a group as an example, You might discover only 50 of them are active , while the rest are just OBSERVERS . which makes your question valid.

if its just a group of 30 people and all are active, its far better than a group of 100 where only 10 are active

Bright point. the above requires Just the course rep and his assistant strictly for disseminating information to his classmates ( kind of Closed groups) , ... I was previously speaking about the reality of the happenings in many PUBLIC or OPEN Group chats that requires everybody's contribution in one way or the other .

What most of you don't understand is that, not everyone wants a group of 1000 people, not everyone wants to share 1gb files via social media.. whatsapp is ahead because it is unique and simple. Telegram is not a competition, it can't even compete with Line, Viber, Wechat and the likes and it wanna competes with whatsapp

Telegram is still ahead anytime any day. Imagine a group chat of 5,000 which is a full community in some localities whereas WhatsApp brag with 256 members. Sending video up to 1g yet WhatsApp brag with just 100 mb. What's this nonsense op is posting just to spite telegram never minding it's giving WhatsApp headache

just think of it as sharing of ideas that that needs to be discussed to a large number of people and telegram groups ain't cumbersome it organized and won't make your phone hang.
