Leviticus 17:14. “You must not eat the blood of any sort of flesh, because the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood. Anyone eating it will be cut off.” God viewed the soul, or life, as being in the blood and belonging to him. Although this law was given only to the nation of Israel, it shows how seriously God viewed the law against eating blood

Genesis 9:4 "But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood." Here's there's nothing of such referring to blood transfusion
Deut 12:16 "Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it out on the earth like water." Here it talks of slaughtering animals and throwing their blood on the ground
Leviticus 17:10-16 "“If any one of the house of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn among them eats any blood, I will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from among his people. For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel, No person among you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger who sojourns among you eat blood. “Any one also of the people of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn among them, who takes in hunting any beast or bird that may be eaten shall pour out its blood and cover it with earth. For the life of every creature is its blood: its blood is its life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel, You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off. .
From verses 10-16 of Leviticus, there's no trance of blood transfusion instead it was against drinking animal blood.
Is a sin to transfuse blood "No"but to drink it is a sin.There's life in the blood of living thing although it might differ if scientists can prove otherwise. Once the blood is drained out of a living being, that's the end. Those supporting their claims of not eating blood to blood transfusion have forgotten this verse in the when Jesus said "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me." John 6:53-57 ESV. Even from this bible verse,it talks about life in the blood. Some will say Jesus was talking about the communion which is the physical breaking of bread and drinking of wine.So the book of Leviticus 17:14 doesn't correlate or relates to blood transfusion at all.There's a different between eating blood and transfusing blood.
