So i wrote the e-mail below to the German federal foreign office and got this response: Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your e-mail. Please be informed that the German Consulate General is booked out until October 10th 2017. Due to the fact that the processing time of a student visa takes up between 5 and 6 weeks, students will not be able to meet up with the enrolment deadlines at their respective universities. We deeply regret not being able to grant appointments to all prospective students. However, we would like to point out that students who cannot be granted an appointment for the winter semester 2017/2018 are welcome to contact the Consulate again in November or December concerning available appointments for the summer semester 2018 if they can provide a valid admission letter. Sincerely yours, b.o. --- I believe the message was forwarded to the Lagos embassy for a response because it was replied from Walter Carrington address of the Embassy in Nigeria. I am sincerely tired and don't know what else to do. Elders in the house, please has this ever happened? and if it has, was there any solution? daaviincii: 2 Likes |

daaviincii: Good job @daaviincii Why not do a follow up mail to subtly fault their premise that they have been booked out given that some with interview dates have not funded their accounts and won't show up on the interview dates. Also, implore them if they can optimize their process(like get another VO or some other thing they can do) so that more people can be received at the Embassy. Impossible is nothing. Let's keep throwing suggestions at them so that they can think of something. Nice job again Bro. Thumbs up! 3 Likes |

Hello guys. please I opened my DB account last year when it was still €8090. I was only able to €2000. The DB amount is now €8800. last week, I funded €7100 to make my total deposit to be €9100. I wanted to clarify whether I have to send DB supplementary form through courier to DB, or I should keep waiting for the confirmation, since I haven't received it till now. I did my Interview early this month and I'm just waiting to send embassy the confirmation upon receipt. thanks |

Hello, Yes, i have followed up with two emails right now. Thank you Renewable0216: |
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by daaviincii: 12:34pm On Jul 31, 2017 |
In the Never-say-never spirit, I wrote them another email Thank you for the timely response. It is unfortunate that prospective students find themselves in this situation. However, there are courses run in some schools during the Winter semester only (e.g Development studies in Uni Passau), this means that students have to wait another year, re-apply then pay another application fee. This is emotionally draining, it will be helpful if the embassy can look into providing an alternative for students who do not have the opportunity to defer their admission or whose courses only run during the winter semester. If it is possible to move such prospective students to the Abuja embassy for interview, it will be reassuring & calming. ------ In addition to my previous email, it is important for me to bring to your attention that some students who have gotten an appointment will not show up due to problems of funding their blocked account. Also, I implore you to look into increasing the number of VO attached to your Lagos embassy so as to optimize this process. This is a delicate period for the embassy and students, we appreciate the effort being put in place but the way this situation is handled will make or mar the future of a lot of prospective students. I trust your competent office to proffer a solution soon. So fingers crossed, let us be hopeful. All the people affected should reach out to the embassy too. daaviincii: 9 Likes |

daaviincii:I commend your posts so far on this issue and I always hit the LIKE BUTTON as i have been observing. I have also written to the consulate equally but in reasonable light, there is a concern in respect to my outlined bold. Writing the embassy that some students who already booked appointment wouldn't show up because of problems of funding issue could be seen not proper but if it had been stated due to some circumstances beyond their control may have looked fair in reasonable light? 4 Likes |

daaviincii:Just sent mine surely a solution will come IJN, Insha allah This how i msg them Good day sir/ma Please i want to bring to your notice the situation we are facing presently at the German conculate in my country we have been informed that we cant apply for student visa for this semester anymore because all appointment dates are booked out stating we should apply for the next summer by november or december the sitution has been so devastating and has weigh a lot of applicants including myself because the school i gained admission to KV hochshule rhein waal ( Bachelor degree) only runs winter semester for my program which invarably means that i will have to wait for another whole year before i can apply for a student visa again apart from the money spent alone while pursing the visa processing the stress passed through is not friendly please i will like to suggest if you can please provide more V.Os in the german embasseys it will be appreciated we also have another german embassey in abuja that is not in use in terms of student visa if applicants can be moved there to have their interviews that will also be appreciated. > Thanks very much as i hope this situation will end with a positive outcome Let us all hope for the best 2 Likes |

haybellfire: You sent this to the embassy? or you are joking. Tell me it is a joke. Reading letters like this, raises serious doubt about your study intention. I pity the next group of people going for their interview. Tired of editing, too many grammatical blunders. Abeg tus.h up your English before coming ohh, make you no come fall our hand here. Or just learn German and forget English. @seun when did tus.h become Behind ? 14 Likes 1 Share |

uchevolata: Girl you remembered! I appreciate you checking up on me to find out how it was. Apologies on not commenting before now. I feel a bit meh about the whole thing though. If there's one thing I've learned from this Interview, its that they want you to go straight to the point. So its not really an interactive interview like I initially thought it would be, its more of a question and answer segment so you have to go straight to the point. Met the dark skinned lady that everyone knows, and to be honest I was a bit taken aback at the way she was shutting me up and telling me to get straight to be point. I mean I thought they wanted you to prove that you knew your guns, but every time I tried to explain each point on detail, she would say "please stop talking about all that and get straight to the point." The interview questions are the usual. Why Germany? How I applied to the school of my choice choice? Why international business? Also asked me to name all my courses from 1-7th semester. I told her courses from 1-3 and told her I didn't know the rest biko. She also asked me "WO haben sie Deutsch gelernt" and for the life of me i couldn't remember what it meant! I got a brain freeze right then! I ended up remembering when I left Because I had done a couple of years in a university she gave me a test. "What is management? Types of management, explain macro management" In essence, prepare for straightforward and direct answers. And be prepared to be shaken by the lady, but keep your composure. Others who have interviewed with that lady said the same thing about her and got their visas so I'm not too worried. PS: She didn't ask for my WAEC scratch card oh, and I went with the printout of the details. |
