Southerners are being fools! instead of you to focus on the fact that the majority of the govts revenue comes from the SOUTH whether ibo or yoruba you are busy fighting and abusing yourselves.....meanwhile the Northerners who contribute nothing get most of it. Samr thing with our brothers from the Oil producing region, they contribute all the Oil money and the North gets most of it, yet everyday we hear how they have natural resources in the North and every year it remains in the ground.

It is time we yorubas especially the youths join the call for restructuring as it was in the sixties.....let everybody keep 50% of what he generates. There are a lot of Ibos here with hate filled hearts but Yorubas need to look beyond their noise and realise that we are both slaves in this contraption called Nigeria and quite frankly yorubas need to understand that Nnamdi Kanu is doing us all a favour. We are both slaves in Nigeria, you cant win an election unless the north supports you and you cant change the constitution unless the North supports you (to change the constitution you need 66%) is that not slavery? Yoruba ronu!!!

We always claim to be the more enlightened race, it's time we use our brains and realise we have a common interests and whatever you feel about the Ibos, Kanu and IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu is doing us all a favour. I dont think Biafra will ever happen but the subject of the Northern stranglehold of the rest of us can no longer be ignored. Whether we like it or not, Nigeria cannot continue as is, let's be frank, it is a failed state. The SW of today is not where it should be considering where we were in the 50s and 60s.

We would all be better off (including the North) if every body has fiscal control of his domain and then contribute a portion to a weaker center.

Our Ibos brothers can be annoying sometimes especially with their hate speeches but let that not cloud your judgement....they are right at least in the sense that Nigeria is not working for them or for you and for that matter not for the Northerners, It is not working for anybody except the elites.

Yoruba people think o! Kanu is actually fighting your fight for you.

Quiet!!

When Yorubas are succeeding, they claim One Nigeria.

If it's to yab Yorubas, they won't write nonsensical epistle about one south.

You Flattiess keep using this same line thinking everyone on NL are stupid and ignorant enough to keep swallowing your lies and propaganda.

These are pictures from the port at PH/Onne. There is nothing stopping Igbos from using it if they wanted to. The success of Lagos and the West is much more deeper than having just a seaport. What many of you don't even know is that the port in Lagos is MUCH SMALLER than what Nigeria actually needs, and less than half of foreign products in the country come through Lagos. Most come from the Cotonou, Lome and Tema ports in Benin, Togo and Ghana, YET Lagos is thriving just fine.

Use PH/Onne port Ndigbo. It is working and functioning just fine. No be by force to come Ragos!
Yorubas have told you to go, una no dey hear word. Lool

Those who are using this port in Onne are using it very fine! Dangote even uses it part time.
Go and develop your Villages and stop shouting Shuku Okuko Alabiabia and "Afonjas are holding us down" Up and down the dusty streets of Nnewi.
I did the supervision of the job you are currently seeing . why the port suddenly went dead is what I have not been able to understand till date.

You see the level of ignorance I'm talking about?

There are more young boys in Aba making fake gucci shoes, but why is the self-acclaimed JAPAN of Africa not generating enough revenue for the SE?

Why can't these so called 'industrious' characteristic reflect on SE IGR?

I've said it, one Yoruba company. Honeywell, makes more revenue than all these small small companies you're mentioning. These huge Yoruba companies pays more taxes to FG than all SE states.

The reason is that taxing the informal economy is difficult as everybody will avoid tax given the opportunity to.

Let me shock you a bit, do you think the huge IGR of Lagos is generated from taxes on companies? Go check the make up of the IGR for Lagos state and get back to me then we can discuss further.

This is what you refer to as revenue right?
I have been wrecked after borrowing money from banks to pay the ransom. What we are trying to do now is to start paying debt to the banks.

Abeg Mechionu.
Oyo and Ogun states are the second or third largest non oil GDP in Nigeria after Lagos. It is between one of both, we still arent sure because Oyo used t be number 2, but Ogun has risen profoundly of recent.
What do you mean how many people in Oyo or Ogun can boast of a disposable income, Lmao. The SW remains farrr richer than your SE region no matter how you want to dice it, be it Bulk GDP, Disposable income, Number of Rich people, State generated incomes, Multidimensional poverty, etc. Data has shown that the SE consistently remains the poorest region in the South of Nigeria as provided by several Global and National indices over years..

Agreed.

Ibo traders avoid paying taxes. Ibos don't pay taxes.

Most taxes are retrieved from government-workers. The SW makes up majority of those posts.

When you do not allow banks to accept houses in the SE as collateral for bank loans, but only for Lagos, Abuja and your favorite states, are you surprise that we have to come to Lagos to buy assets in other to qualify for loans ?

Actually, even this figure overstates how much Lagos relies on the FG. Remember that LASG gets none of the business taxes paid by Lagos-resident companies, or the levies raised from the Lagos ports, and if those were accounted for, they would be far greater than the 178 billion the state gets in allocation money.
Now I see why Ibile holdings was created. We need to be able to keep some of those monies, but we really can't complain anyway, ND's situation is worse.

And from the nigerian chamber of commerce and Industry, the SW has by far the largest number of small and medium sized enterprises in the country.
