Maybe with new national leadership (president) we could send other guys to be schooled by the FBI like the Scorpions. This is getting out of hand. A CIT heist this morning, an attempted heist on Sunday then the Mpumalanga one caught on video last week as well. The gangs are having a field day.

True just read about two separate heists in the North West just 2 kilometres apart. I think they should definitely look at either an NIU or STF base in the northern provinces because the only central ones are in Gauteng far as I understand.

The TRT was meant to supplement the shortfall. If you have seen the Mpumalanga N4 heist video, the guy makes a phone call to the Nelspruit SAPS which is roughly 27km from the scene what he didn't know is that there's a TRT unit in the nearby township which was just 10km from reacting. They would have reacted in time and probably come across the suspected vehicles and nail them.

As you said before, an effective crime intelligence system is needed.

Or you know, we could just set up centralised CnC centers that impliment real-time BLUEFOR tracking at the provincial level

We have the tech and SAPS definitely has the budget

This nonsense of having saps organized and dispatched at the precinct level is a waste of time

For patrol officers and the flying squad Precincts should be logistic hubs not command posts.

Have the non-uniformed staff run at the precinct level - detectives, forensics etc

Only one information stream for first responders and then secondary feedback to precinct nodes for officers in support and investigative divisions

The only time precinct driven command makes sense is for precincts where officers walk a set beat. Emphasis on walking a beat.

Interesting side note which probably means nothing.......

Botswana had purchased 100 Strela-3/SA-14 SAM systems in 2012 (pic 1). In 2016 South Africa purchased 50 FN-6 SAM systems (pic 2) from China but no one knows who actually purchased them...CSIR, Denel? SANDF says it wasnt them. Online speculation is that South Africa wants them to test/develop electronic countermeasure systems against manpad's. Who knows.

Maybe it's the SASFB, they're the only guys with Eastern weapons and where cocktail buying is allowed. With that in mind, they're not gonna say they it out loud that they made a purchase.
