What injustice? Jan 1966 Nigeria was in peace until IPOB men listed below:

Maj. Kaduna Nzeogwu (Igbo)
Maj. Adewale Ademoyega (Yoruba), author of "Why we struck"
Maj. Emmanuel Ifeajuna (Igbo)
Maj. Timothy Onwuatuegwu (Igbo)
Maj. Chris Anuforo (Igbo)
Maj. Humphrey Chukwuka (Igbo)
Maj. Don Okafor (Igbo)
Capt. Ogbo Oji (Igbo)

Killed the following Northerners/Westerners:

Prime Minister Abubakar Balewa † (Baggara)
Premier Ahmadu Bello † (Fulani)
Premier Samuel Akintola † (Yoruba)
Finance Minister Festus Okotie-Eboh † (Itsekiri)
Brig. Samuel Ademulegun † (Yoruba)
Brig. Zakariya Maimalari † (Kanuri)
Col. Kur Mohammed † (Kanuri)
Col. Ralph Shodeinde † (Yoruba)
Lt. Col. Abogo Largema † (Kanuri)
Lt. Col. James Pam † (Berom)
Lt. Col. Arthur Unegbe † (Igbo) - Was killed because he refused to open the armory to IPOB coup plotters

This offense against the state...and the under listed is why you are who you are in Nigeria

1. Why did IPOB murdered northern civilian leaders and military officers in the aborted January 15, 1966, coup d'etat?
2. Why Did Ironsi not kill Emeka Nzogwu or at least tried him for treason and why was he paid his full salary while in detention?
3. Why did it take him more than 6 months to sentence him to death as it should be?
4. Why did Inronsi pass of the Unification Decree into law? Thereby cancelling the federal structure? the very thing you now claim is ideal?
5. Why did the "IPOB coup" plan to eliminate northern leaders only?
6. Why did Aguiyi Ironsi promoted several Igbo Majors to Lt Colonel?

I can bet my life that this is all about resource control...When IPOB is in Charge its the cry of one NIGERIA but when not its DIVIDE Nigeria.

You got it wrong. I see your lame attempt to exclude some names and make a weak argument look great. Either you are ignorant as a result of a nature built on lies that your parents fed to you or you are plain mischievous. Why not start the narrative from 1945 killings (Jos) and 1953 killings (Kano or Kaduna). Who bears responsibility for those killings. Should those killings not be discussed because the perpetrators are of the ethnic group who have sole privilege to take other peoples life. There is just no point in arguing with you.

When they were debating for devolution of power, how many senators from the East voted for it??

It's not a matter of the North but a case of common thieves from different tribes but with same objective which is to run Nigeria to the ground

Wrong. That is the usual lame excuse so we can continue on the destructive path.

I stopped reading where he said "all Nigerians should love our country" as well crying about the calls for divisions.

You cannot force people to love a country they don't want to be part of.

Until you and the rest of your greedy politicians get that info your head, you'll continue hearing the calls of division and "hate speech".

Get it through your fucking head.

Even God is tired of your one niggeria that's why he let it rot to the ground despite the overly religious fanatics in that country praying everyday.

You're supposed to be a pastor yet can't even read what God is saying

Don't mind these people. The Niger Delta insurgents are threatened the use and deployment of chemical weapons across the board and soon, they will be wondering how we got here just like Bokoharam and suicide bombing.

The idea of them even thinking of it is scary. For African enemies who are eyeing the continent huge mineral resources potential and vast arable farmland to ever growing global population, this is a welcome news as they will encourage it in actions that would be seen as though, though they are against it or preventing it....like in Syria.

The truth which Osibanjo kept is the fact that only Igbos are in the danger of the genocide. The plot by enemies of Igbos to put us on the line of genocide started towards 2015 election when every reasonable person knew it was impossible for Jonathan to win. They used Igbos as a divisive tool on social media making outright hate speeches as a strategy to force other Nigerians accept Jonathan but it failed. I started crying wolf early because those same enemies within advised Jonathan not to concede defeat and if Jonathan wasn't wise to reject that advice, the genocide would have happened in 2015.

After Jonathan accepted defeat they devised another strategy of radio Biafra and IPOB to put Igbos once again at the risk of genocide. Many of the unwise ones think that making hate speech is a wise strategy and never think of the fact that it breeds reciprocal hatred from all your neighbours.

It's the game of numbers. Alex Ekweme, Azikiwe, Emeka and Ironsi (All IBO) were part of that 50 years. When the nation's treasury was under the control of Iweala and Dizieni you were not complaining. Resource control is the issue abi?

grin grin grin you make me laugh. You really believe what you penned down. In terms of percentage the people you indicated have about .001% responsibility of those 50 years. The balance of responsibility (greater than 99%) goes to Gowon, Obasanjo, Murtala, Babangida, Abacha, Abdulsalam, Yaradua.

Very good point. That's the evil effect of war. There is always Victims of wars, mostly children and women. Who caused the 1st coup that killed all northerner? IPOB. Do you know what it means for a northerner to trust an easterner to manage his security details? Emeka and others betrayed that trust. Trust is not given it is earned. Ironsi didn't helped matters. That did not justify the second coup but was the remote cause. Remember the law of cause and effect. Instead of IPOB publicly denouncing this act, they publicly celebrated it. Who likes that? The revenge mission and senseless killing and the war where quite unfortunate but who caused it?

I wish IPOB leave in peace. No one wants to be in a marriage of unconvience but remember... The problem today was caused by IPOB. If the reason for the 1st coup was corruption why spare others of the eastern extraction?

Now you guys have started hate speeches now, the acting president advised against it and you guys are angry. If war breakout today, would the president be a victim? Was Ojukwu victim of the civil war?

We all make mistakes in life. We must learn to accept our mistakes and correct it. IPOB should work hard to earn that trust back. IPOB should align with a party that would feature an IBO president, they should form a coalition with SW, NC, SS and see if they won't win the election. You cannot continue to hate 4 out of 6 geopolitical zone and hope to win an election. And if you want to leave... Call for a referendum amongst yourself. If you get the required no. Go in peace...

The rest of the nation would wish to see you do well. But with the greed we see the makes you sell fake products every where, with the pride that makes no IPOB want to submit to another, with this insatiable thirst for quick money... I don't see an IPOB becoming better than Nigeria even with all the deposit of Diamonds and Crude of this world in IPOB. Truth be told.

A whole general in the Nigeria Army is what you called ordinary herdsman? A former head of states? So what's Ojukwu? What's Ironsi? What's Kanu?

1. Remember Only MDs of Nigeria Banks in Ghana are Nigerians. Think Diamond, Think Zenith...

2. Remember you would become as expatriate, meaning you would need VISA to Kano/Kaduna/Lagos...

3. Remember your property would receive maximum tax bill payable to Nigerian Government...

4. Remember that VISA to USA & Europe is harder to get...

5. Remember that IPOD territories would become like a concentration camp if all IPOB across Nigeria return to IPOB.

I wish you best of luck in your pursuit

Gains to Nigeria

1. No more fake drugs
2. No more fake spare paths
3. No more fake people and fake things
4. Fewer robbers
5. Fewer kidnappers
6. Fewer hate speeches
7. More funds from Nigeria Embassy in IPOB through VISA application to Nigeria
8. More Taxes on properties & Expartrait taxes
9. Drop in the value of properties...as most IPOB property owners would be forced to sell due to tax burden.

10. Affordable properties...

What Nigeria would miss.

1. We would miss our in-laws...

Osibanjo should be quiet. The pain of biafra is beyond his capacity to understand. He is a prince of the unjust system - a beneficiary. He will never see anything wrong with it. But time will tell. Nigeria, whether in this or next generation will pay dearly for the injustice they sustained over several decades.
IPOB spotted.

During the civil war most of the deaths were through starvation and bombing of civilian dwellings, hospitals and markets. War strategies are not built on fighting civilians directly but in the case of Nigeria they bombed everything and boasted about it. There are records of Nigerians soldiers boasting about their desire to kill every Igbo and even animals. Nigeria was not fighting on any ideal but they were driven by hate. The hate that they nursed several years before the civil war started. Tell me who we should hold responsible for the 1945 and 1953 killings.

The members of the first coup were drawn from all sections of Nigeria. Yes the casualty figure was heavy with the northerners but that does not justify the pogrom and the Nigerian atrocities during the civil war. Do you know that the pogrom was sponsored by the government of the day. I mean that government soldiers participated in killing unarmed civilians in their homes and on the roads. It was not civilians against civilians.

The effort to tag it an Igbo coup is only to justify the atrocities that Nigerian committed against the Igbo. I know in saner moments it will bring some of the actors some sense of shame. I also know younger people like yourself will reflect on these times with a sense of valor and victory because it supports the social and political advantage you are enjoying today. No counter argument can bring you to reality because the comfort zone is always so lofty. This sense of shame is why attempt is often made to quash the truth and obliterate any trace of that sad aspect of our narrative. There is effort to stop teaching history so that the youth cannot for instance be puzzled at hearing some names mentioned as great people; yet they can see through internet records that those so called great ones were actually evil people who were authors of hate and evil speeches.

Agreed nothing can justify senseless killing. 1953 killing was an unfortunate riot targeted at Akintola's Led Action Group not IBOs. 46 people died in that riot, although Radio Biafra put it at 200. I believe 46 than I would accept 200. Why not 201, why not 199, why exactly 200? History had it that 46 people of diverse ethnic group from the south died although mostly lBO and not 200 ibos. Let's assumed 26 lBO died while other 20 others are Yoruba's and others. Let me address your question. Who was responsible for that riot, I would say Akintola's Action group, Lagosians and the press media.

The Media houses exaggerated what happened in Lagos. The remote cause of the riot was the strained relationship between the Northern and Southern political leaders over the issue of self-government in 1956. This strained relationship started with a 1953 motion for self-government for Nigeria in 1956 tabled in the House of Representatives by a member of the Action Group (AG), Chief Anthony Enahoro. The Northerners did not accept the motion.

The leader of the Northern People's Congress (NPC) and the Sardauna of Sokoto, Alhaji Ahmadu Bello, in a counter-motion, replaced "in the year 1956" with the phrase "as soon as practicable". Another Northern member of the House moved a motion for adjournment, a motion which Southern members of AG and the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC) viewed as a delay tactics. All the AG and NCNC members in the house walked out as a result of the adjournment motion.

When the Northern delegates left the House, they were confronted by hostile crowds in Lagos who insulted, jeered and called them all sorts of names. Members of the Northern delegation were embittered and in their "Eight Point Program" in the Northern Regional Legislative House, they sought for secession. The last straw that broke the camel's back was the tour by a delegation of the AG and NCNC led by Chief Samuel Akintola.

That tour which was aimed at campaigning for self-government acted as the immediate cause of the Kano riot. It sparked off a chain of disorder that culminated in the riot. The riot took place at Sabon Gari an area predominantly occupied by southern Nigerians.

That's nothing compared to millions of people who died during the civil war. More people died during last election than those who died in 1945. It was a mere riot. As a child I have witnessed more riots in the north.

Thanks for the clarifications especially on the dates. But there is a streak of ethnic hatred on the scale of the killings. Not just outcome of political differences. Events and records indicate so.

Absolutely one of the reason I relocated from the north. But my questions are these:

1. Are there no Christian in Niger Republic and Chad?
2. Why are there no ethnic violence there?

My Answers are these:

1. Ethnic violence is the product of ethnic superiority complex and hate speeches.

2. There are so much hates speeches amongst the northerners towards the southerners just as there hate speeches amongst IBOs against Yorubas

3. Iyamirin is a word by the Northerners to despise IBOs. Berebe is another despising word for Yoruba. IBOs call Yoruba *ofe manu... Yoruba call IBOs... Ajekuta Mamumi... And more recently... Igbo, brown roof, Flat head, poo soup... All these hate speeches, especially those on local northern TV stations, in churches and mosques are what is causing us this pain.

Way out is to love one another. And to never judge a man by his tribe but by the content of his character. My best business partner is Nigerian IBO. But he is IBO with a big difference. He had unquestionable integrity.

Igbo make hate speeches on Yoruba and vise versa. I have said in a different post that we need emotional intelligence. I have several Yoruba friends and we relate very well. Go to the multinational offices and you see Nigerians of different ethnic group working very well together, not because they are saints but because the system is ethnic blind. The system forces people to apply emotional intelligence. This is not the case with the core Nigerian system.

The coalition of hate-filled human beings that derive joy in plotting and visiting death, misery on others. Can kill without provocation. With a nature filled with jealousy and wickedness. That will do all they can to make the field of play uneven so they can enjoy all the advantage.

Do Mii a favor by quoting a hate filled comment of mine
