Why are people afraid of dying? I heard that the reason why some people keep moving through life, despite it being hard is that they fear death. People who choose to commit suicide are even afraid, not all though, to the extent that they back off from such attempt. What is there to fear in death? Suppose I mistakenly got shot in the head at age nine, I will die but will I cling on to life?

people are afraid of death because of their attachments.as for me i am not because am detached from reality

Those who had NDE don't fear death after returning, because they have seen the other side of death. I am an example here.

that hell fire thing nah strong thing. I think what people fear are possible non existence after death, hellish experience or the unexpected.

You only fear death if you feel you haven't accomplished things you wish to accomplish. As long as there are still things to do, death shouldn't be an option. Have you seen a 90 years old afraid of death?

Religion teaches that death is bad and is a reward for evil deeds. This is fundamentally flawed.
Death is not necessarily bad.

When you engage in deep thought processes concerning death and realise that no one is getting out of here alive, you overcome that fear.

We have been dead for a very long time before we were born, i dont think it would be any different after we die...

people fear death for different reasons

1. because of the threat of hell

2. because of what they've achieved and not wanting to leave their achievements

3. because of their loved ones

4. not achieving some certain things/living an unfulfilled life

Death is man's enemy and also an enemy of God....
