Good day All.
Please I will like to know if my job match can be applicable in the entry. I graduated with statistics, but am into HR. Please help a sister. Thank you

Hi - It is your work experience that is required to match the NOC you choose for the EE/FSWP application. In other words, your degree doesn't play a role when picking a NOC.

NOC 1121 is for Human Resources Professional. Go to the CIC website, type in this 1121 under NOC and see if the main duties listed there CLOSELY matches what you do.

All the best.

Good evening. Please are you all seeing exchange rate for CAD? I submitted my application AOR June, PNP and seeing the rate today, my submitted proof of funds have fallen below the required 12164? Is that a challenge? Anyone with this experience, future or present? Please your thoughts will be appreciated

Great people of NL, good evening. I got ITA yesterday and want to launch my application immediately. However, I have an ongoing study permit that I want to withdraw. I also paid the sum $20,000 CAD as tuition fee and want to apply for a refund. A friend of mine asked me to open a bank account in Canada and move the money into the account since I want to use it for my POF (family of three). Please below are my questions:

1> How can I open a bank account in Canada while in Nigeria?

2> If I succeed in opening the bank account, how can I get a signed and stamped statement of account with the letter from the bank that I can
use as POF in line with the guidelines of IRCC.

Please anybody with experience in this should help out.

goodday everyone
please is it necessary to put all my funds in one bank account ahead of time or wait till I get ITA then consolidate my funds into one bank account.

You don't need to put all your funds in one account, you can submit letter for different bank accounts but if nah me ooo, I will put it in one account because I hate Nigeria Banking system and I can't imagine dealing with more than one when it comes to collecting a bank letter for my proof of funds.

It is a good idea to keep monitoring the exchange rates and adjust your POF accordingly because your POF is measured in Canadian dollars and you are expected to maintain the equivalent in Naira for Nigerian applicants. Back when I applied in 2014, I ensured my POF was above the required equivalent funds so that when the exchange rates went up, I was covered and didn't have to worry about increasing it. Some others just converted their Naira to US dollars and put in their dom account which was smart because when others suffered as the naira fell in 2015, they were safe and smiling. They just took their dollars with them to Canada when they received their PR.

Royal Bank of Canada is quite easy. Once you fill out the online form and put in your details, you will be given an advisor who will contact you and tell you the next steps to take as per opening the account. He/she will also help out with the statement and everything, just make sure you tell them what you want from the beginning. The only thing is that I don't think you will be able to withdraw from that account till you get to Canada. My sister who is going to Canada as a student did the same thing to export funds to Canada.

In the last 3 days i have been imagining what i was doing that made me not see this thread. I am super impressed.
when IRCC says "sibling'',can a first cousin fall into that category? we grew up in the same house as brother and sister but now immigration purposes have reminded us that we are not same father and mother. i need that extra 15points ooo

Nah... Ircc don't wanna know if you eat in the same plate, ones you don't share the same parents you should not declare her as your sibling so you won't have problem proving it later... I made this mistake too by ticking Aunty for cousin but "My case is different". I believe with God all discrepancies are covered.

1> How can I open a bank account in Canada while in Nigeria? Google the Canadian banks like CIBC, RBC, BMO, Scotiabank, TD Bank to know the procedure to open an account from outside. They have products for this on their websites

2> If I succeed in opening the bank account, how can I get a signed and stamped statement of account with the letter from the bank that I can use as POF in line with the guidelines of IRCC. When you open the account, you get online banking access with which you can access and show your account activity and balance. This is acceptable for proof of funds especially as you have been proactive to move the funds through formal banking channels

Please anybody with experience in this should help out.

Hi, hope the above helps.

Congrats on ur ITA.
I requested for refund from school too. I would suggest you get the refund into your DOM account in Nigeria. Print same and use it for your POF. Include LOE with emails exchanged with the school explaining source of the fund. All the best

Hello House,

I need your advice. I am in the EE pool and my score is 391 just because of LRWS 7.5,7.5,7.5,8 in my IELTS. My occupation is in the SINP Occupation-in-demand (Medical Laboratory Technologist) but to get licensure to apply for the SINP and practise in Canada can take 1 year or longer. Unfortunately, I'm not even in Nigeria to scout for the documents needed for licensure coupled with LAUTECH almighty strike.

If I write another IELTS and I get minimum of LRWS 8777 and my CRS score get to the require point to get ITA (hopefully), do I still need to get licensure to apply for the ITA or I will apply for the ITA while I consider getting the license or not? i.e is licensure require to apply for ITA even if I have enough point to get ITA?

Honestly, am not thinking of practising Medical Laboratory Technologist in Canada, prefer to go into medical research or academics which does not require licensure.

What's your advice please?

Hi All,

Please help determine my current stage, I don't understand the recent update on my application.
I got AOR on July 18 and background check was 'not applicable'. On July 26, I received an update with my medicals been reviewed, UCI assigned, and background check changed to 'we are processing your application. We'll inform you when we start your background check.'
On July 31, I received the latest update which changed my background check to 'not applicable'. But my medicals result is still being reviewed.
I don't know if this is NA1, IP1, or NA2. I expect to have passed medicals to be in IP1, no?

Dear Sadiq, I suggest you let your daughter join the forum and read for herself the first few pages of this thread. It will be most beneficial to her if she understands the process by herself.

Wait until you land as a student to then apply for PR. You can get most of the required documentation in place now ahead of your PR application. Unfortunately for a friend, he applied for PR visa while processing student visa, both were denied. He requested for his GCMS and observed that a review officer remarked they were not convinced of his intentions; they didn't understand why he was applying for student visa and then pursuing PR, he appeared as a desperate applicant so they shut him down. For your situation, land as a student first, then apply for PR if you meet the requirements. That's what most other students with work experience do, cheers.

Wasn't aware of this information....I thought they said someone can have dual intent i.e process both applications at a time. Heard of someone that got both TRV and PR.I have a study permit in process and am hoping to get ITA soon as I just entered the pool, will this affect my application in anyway. Please what do you people advise I do.

Thanks. I need this optimism. It's a little frustrating to keep missing ITAs by so little margins.

We have the same score. If I had known it will take so long, I would have asked for a remark of my writing and maybe that 0.5 would have taken me to 458. But I still have hope. My husband's scores should kick in from next 2 weeks but I hope to get ITA before then.

Na 69th ray of hope get me now.

Hi, this was an incident that was quite shocking and seeing the GCMS notes left me with mixed feelings. Which is why I did not foreclose on debris' bid to apply for PR while holding a student visa but to deal with some caution. Using the 'bird in hand' circumstance, he/she can land and then begin the PR application process. Of course, you're free to go ahead with your situation and apply. It should be that the VOs treat these things on a case by case basis and yours may end in success on both fronts. By all means, please ask more questions to inform your final position.
