The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Friday explained why the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, is yet to be re-arrested.

Idris, who spoke during a working visit to The Nation’s corporate headquarters in Lagos, also said the Arewa Youths were yet to be picked up, based on the decision of the National Security Council.

“We have the National Security Council in place chaired by the Acting President. We have been meeting and analyzing each of these threat messages from separatist groups.

“We have to analyse the pros and cons. As you are aware, the police are on top of the situation.

“As an organisation, what we take as paramount is the maintenance of law and order. There was a time we ordered the arrest of the leaders of groups making threat messages. Then, leaders of various ethnic nationalities came to the villa for a meeting with the Acting President.

“The agreements reached at the meeting made the police to relax on the arrest order.

“We believe there are certain situations needed to be managed very carefully, so that you don’t bring up tension. We believe the security and safety of Nigerians is paramount. We are assuring Nigerians that there is no person or group of persons that can deny them their rights to free movement in any part of the country,” he said.

Why was he arrested before ?.

You guys have realised your mistake but it's too late. Everything has damaged. You can never stop an ideology.(Impossible)

Thank God for radio Biafraaa Nnamdi KANU used to wake the spirits of all Igbos/Biafffrans. Indeed, Nnamdi KANU is a fighter that truly believes in his dreams, while all one Nigeria crusaders are having nightmares to stop the inevitable. It's a pity that Nigeria govt is helpless on Kanu's matter as it stands today.

The KANU guy has violated the bail conditions but it seems that National Security Council does not know the next step. Buhari made mistake initially, he should have let the guy be feeling like a king behind the microphone in his radio studio.
Police said that what paramount to them is to maintain law and order. So, they are not responsible to arrest the law offenders
