How dare we go against advice of the all-knowing Zola and Desailly when it comes to Chelsea transfer matters? There and then, we should have known it was the wrong move, once the Oracle spoke.


I would love to know what yourself, Zola and Desailly thought about Alonso when he transferred to Chelsea. Or about Moses at RWB, before anyone thought that was even remotely possible. I really would have loved to see your candid opinion (and Zola's and Desailly's) if you all knew David Luiz would play at the heart of any back-line and lead his team to a title-winning season.


We all love Airmark, Zola and Desaiily for what they did at Chelsea. But when it comes to tactical football, harnessing a team's inconspicuous collective talent, player development and winning titles, I know who I will choose. I will choose the foolish Conte.

Nobody is above mistakes in life and no one is perfect. Conte is not perfect and we don't need a fortune teller to tell us the type of strikers that mostly succeeded in epl in general and chelsea in particular. We aren't even sure if he was responsible for morata's coming.

Conte's system that worked for us requires a striker, who is strong and ready to fight for all balls and bring other attackers to play. Some of us watched morata in madrid and could give a brilliant submission to that regards. Hence, we didnt back his deal.

There were matches costa won for us because he was a fighter. Drogba also was and we saw how he fared. If we need hazard or another striker for morata to function, then we should forget about defending the title. That's a numerical deficit in order to replicate costa's feat. It means pedro must sit out or one midfielder, based on formation we adjust to. No matter how you view it, there will be a hole created to accommodate a non-scoring striker.

Zola and desailly are not all-knowing, no one is. They may have better ideas that conte might not have thought of, as regards our attacking third. They might have watched morata more recently than conte. That doesn't mean they are better than conte as an all-round coach.

Based on what we have seen and what conte had said, zola and desailly were right. The problem now is, by the time we wait for morata to be ready, how far would we be from the apex of the table. Knowing that hazard would not hit the peak immediately he returns and batshuayi is not looking ready to carry the team.

As regards my view on alonso and moses playing wing backs, that was not shocking. We had seen eboue, from being a right winger to a full back. Alex sandro wasn't a wing back before, so it was something we could welcome. Their cases were different from the morata we knew as a weak striker in madrid last season. He was bought to play as a striker, not to change position.

I bought my first chelsea jersey about 18 years ago with babayaro inscribed. I am a true fan. I had seen different type of strikers in chelsea and have seen how epl has changed from accommodating tore andre flo type to drogba type.
There is joy when your team finishes with valuable silverwares at the end of the season. Check all the big clubs and you will see they have one or two goal machines upfront, hitting 20+ goals easily.
