You keep shouting 20+ goals everywhere, mentioning Drogba along the line. Have you forgotten how Drogba's Chelsea career started? Chelsea won the league in his first season but how many league goals did he score? Just 10 goals! His second season, Chelsea retained the title. How many league goals did Drogba score? Just 12 goals! It was only in Drogba's third season did he hit the ground running, scoring 20 league goals (which by the way is one of only 2 times Drogba score 20 or more league goals in his Chelsea career.)

Drogba is our legend no doubt about that. But looking at the numbers, you will find out that criticising Morata at this point is just plain hating.

Zola said morata would not fit into our style, that we should buy a striker that will hit the ground running. If you cant see sense in what zola said and the reality on ground now, it's not my problem.

That pep has always been struggling with his defensive setups, doesn't make him dumb in other aspect of coaching a team. So if zola failed as an all-round coach in average teams, that doesn't mean he won't have a good knowledge of the type of attackers that will gel in a big team. Di matteo won us ucl, but last year he was hired and fired by aston villa within 4 months. So if matteo airs his views now, you will ask him to shut it.

Meanwhile, Zola was a chelsea attacker and a great one at that. So from experience, what he had said for now, is spot on. We are not even sure if morata was conte's first choice. If he was and he is telling us he needs time to adapt, then i have overrated him as a coach. Then the board may be right dragging foot to rush and sign more spineless players suggested by him. Let's be more intelligent in our convo.

I will cast final judgement on Morata when he has had a preseason. Spanish league starts late so his fitness is behind as Real Madrid had only just started preseason when we picked him up. He is not my style of striker, but I'm willing to give him a chance. What he needs to do is wake up and add aggression to his game. All those ninny style of play will not work here.

There is no iota of inconsistency in my posts.

If Morata score 20+ goals per season the better for all of us BUT 20+ goals shouldn't just be the criteria to judge him. Drogba's numbers have proved that we don't need a 20+ goal striker to lift trophies.

Mind you, Morata's goals won Madrid their last trophy. It must not be 20+ goals. Aside Ronaldo, Morata won Madrid most points last season.

I don't think you even know what your talking about. Drogba at Chelsea was playing with Balon Do'r and WPOTY podium finalist, UEFA midfielder of the year, African Footballer or the Year, UEFA defender of the year and so on...

He was not playing with Kante, Alonso or Victor Moses.

Drogba's team could afford to share the goal scoring burden...This team can't.

I'll still take Aurier. He is an attacking RB that can play RWB very well.

Azpilicueta is versatile. He can compete with Alonso in the LWB position.

Assuming all those signings come in, I will play Aurier and Azpilicueta in the WB positions and slot Van Dijk in RCB.
