AfonjaBoston: Just to be clear.. I said NEED not MUST . Where i stay you need a Car.. You cant rely on the Buses cos they pass every 15 Minutes and where you are going might be far from the bustop . If there were buses i for nor complain. In Nigeria i never had a car and didn't even complain, all my friends had cars, In fact i don't even know how to drive now. Here i Have to trek 25 Minutes before getting to school without bus. To go anywhere i have to use lyft or uber. If you see me trecking sef i am sure you would pity me and buy me a car cos am literally the only one trecking on the road. Oyibo sef they pity me.. 17 Likes |

iekene: You are lucky you even have buses . Very simple all you NEED to do is plan at least 125mins. Ahead of your appointment and hit the road there is a bus going to where ever you are going. Know the routes and time sometimes it is pasted at the busstop stand or use GPS for your phone and select the bus option .You will be fine. Your suffering. Now is part of the hustle. When I first got to the united states over 11 years ago not even on student visa Boy if I tell you the waka whey I waka for snow ;. But all of that na part of old story. Cool your head down . you need the exercise . to waka no dey kill person 7 Likes |

vivyval: You jumped the gun, you should have asked me to clarify my stance first. As is typical of the overly religious Nigerian, you seem to equate "love for god" with ubiquitous using of his name, even when it is not relevant. I do not understand why corrupt people, people who don't prepare in advance, the lazy and those seeking to abuse laws think that god blesses anything they do, as long as they add his name to it. The Bible is clear, God isn't mocked, whatsoever a man does, that shall he reap. I love God... but it's not those that shout lord lord who will enter into the kingdom. In the very same post by the fellow seeking God for favor for a visa, it is quite obvious many of his proposed visa responses were rehearsed lies. But yet he asks god to bless his labor! Let's be clear, the average Nigerian is about the most religious individual on earth. I guarantee it has zero to do with genuine faith, but a false religiosity borne out of lack and frustration. I'm not impressed by your loud prayers when you need a visa, it's what you do with your faith when no one is watching or when you have all you need that matters most. Good luck. 25 Likes 4 Shares |

Hello, Edakun!! This thread is beginning to look like Linda ikeji's blog Some individuals have decided to be too sensitive, some insensitive. Then we see situations where people go back and forth with words Please let us all focus on the purpose of this thread so people can learn and give information Warm regards 7 Likes 2 Shares |

TWoods:We are Nigerians and therefore saddled with the innate belief in God from time immemorial. A typical Nigerian believes that God will do everything for him/her. Understand my point, am not imposing belief in God on you, by all means, believe in anything that you fancy; but bringing the contempt to the public demoralizes the many that put their belief in God. For me, being spiritual does not mean suspension of the brain. Writing 'God', or 'god' makes no difference in this context. Some peeps here have had the worst interview, but somehow, they got the white paper, while some, after their top-notch preparations and dependence on self were denied. It's all about hardwork and grace. I just wanted to point this out. Cheers. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

vivyval: Not to belabour the point, but the highlighted is just false. We are no more "saddled" (it's not by force really) with an "innate belief" in a God than any other peoples on earth. We are simply religious because it's the last resort for a people racked with poverty and little to no hope. You are not imposing belief in God on me, i am a practicing christian myself... i just find the incessant recourse to "god" here a little too self serving and insincere. We only seem to remember him when we need a visa. Most people here would never fast if they could help it, but they seem to remember to do so when they have a visa interview. Take a cursory look, outside the religion board, this is the only other board that has such overt references to "god"... even at that, it's mostly restricted to visa seeking threads. The very same people, posting on other neutral threads, sound no different from everyone else. Who is deceiving who... To address the visa issue, the idea that God granted you a visa is complete nonsense. You are granted one if the Visa Officer feels you are qualified for one. Cheers as well. 3 Likes |

Fodio84: No serious organisation will encourage such, even in the public service where study leave (with or without pay) is allowed, it is highly regulated. What is encouraged in serious business entities are professional education like ICAN, done on part-time basis (which of course should not distrup business activities) and short courses not lasting more than two weeks. No VO will buy that explanation. 1 Like |

vivyval:.The bolded is a big laugh. How is a believe in god an innate desire.? If not for parent and society brainwashing, no-one will give a fccckkk about God. We were all born without knowing any damn religion. Ever wonder most people( if not all) assumes the religion of their parents and/or the religion prevalent in their geography of origin. God is man-made IMHO. I am sure God(s) - if it/they exist does not care a hoot about human welfare on planet earth. 1 Like |

Bandeco: Once anyone opens the tap for religion...... the water from the tap just pours and pours and rains in all colours and manners . It can go on for dayssssss Everyone with his or her own belief and what works for them. I think Religion helped and kept Nigerians in check and people behaved better when they felt rapture was coming soon as an example . Now you hear so many frightful stories even shooting in church with no fear or regards that i think the society was better when it was a God fearing society 6 Likes |

LagosismyHome: Hello good morning, I am new here and really hope this meets you well. I am really worried right now as my student visa to saints Joseph's university in us was denied yesterday of which I decided to try again but the available date is 22nd of this month and my school's orientation is on the 24th of this month and resumption is on the 28, now I really need you guys advice do you think I should still pay for the visa fee again? Plus I was also thinking I could mail the school to explain my plight to them so they could exempt me from the orientation program (At Least I can use that to defend myself at the embassy if I am ever asked) as the visa would take 3 working days after the approval. Pls get back soon so I don't miss the available appointment again which is 22nd of this month. Thanks |

Hello house please what do I do? I need someone with good experience. My sister is now in Mitigan US. Before she left, we opened a dollar account for her, in the process of opening the account, they said they needed two referees, we got that, after they confirmed that the two referees had called them, my sister tried to check into the hotel today, as they tried to use the card, it fell through. Right now, she sent me a whatsapp message becuase I was asleep, "i'm in trouble, they want to arrest me for fraud". We called the GTbank after five hours of receiving the message, I being one of the referee, called gtbank customer service. I was told they had processed it already that there are few questions she will need to answer, that there is a way she will need to use the card. Who has information on how to go about this? Please. |
