And no, its not in lagos ooooo

Thought as much. I just saw 320k on a page. If so then, if application doesn't go up then points for the draw will drop. The last draw was 441. Going through CIC page I noticed that most of this year's points were low compared with previous years. I am forecasting that as from September, there will be a significant reduction in the points needed to secure an ITA, points might go as low as 400 sef.

Amen ooooo (with my hands raised up claiming it)

IQAS is not as prompt as before again.

My application had passed processing time. Called their number, waited 10mins to speak to an agent, and I was finally told my application has not been evaluated.

The agent was even telling me that, If I can't wait further, I can withdraw my application to get the application fee refunded minus courier fee.

I was like: does this one understand what it takes to get transcript sent abroad from Nigeria?

Just dropped the call.

Who recently got their certificate evaluated by IQAS? Pls share your timeline.

Good luck to fellow August 3 IELTS In Lagos center test takers. The listening section was a garri drinking one but God will help us. Amen.

Osemigho, I sight you.

Remember that the 30days processing time means 30 working days from when your documents reached them.

Try to be a lil bit more patient.

@ Boldened....

If you calculate from the date your transcript was delivered to the date of completion as written on your ECA, its exactly 30 working days.

Note that your application will only be processed once they received ''all'' your complete documents...

@DereI...I gave my timeline and went ahead to update the house on the new position from IQAS (which states" about 6weeks to process after everything is received" https://www.alberta.ca/iqas-contact.aspx). This is so that those waiting for their ECA would be aware of the changes and those yet to commence would know its no longer 30 Business Days and make an informed decision on which body to use for Assessment.

Please o, what's the difference between 6 weeks and 30 business days? Of course, there might be public holidays within the 6 weeks but I don't think it will be more than 2 days.. In all, 6 weeks and 30 business days looks same to me, or am I missing something?

If Monday to Friday is 5 days, is 6 weeks not the same thing or even lesser than 30 business days considering public holidays?

Garri-drinking? Was it that tough?

Practiced Cambridge ielts 1-12 with only few missing and I can say it is incomparable to what I practiced or envisioned. I was actually lost at the beginning and before I could think through I realize question 3 was discussed. No call for inquiry about something. It had more those similar and highly paraphrased objective questions.

I'm praying for the best.

UPDATE!!!!

Just got a mail from IQAS, certificate evaluation is complete, a soft copy will be mailed to me in the next few days. Thanks to MummyJaygirls 40manlappy, elfmann and others.

It seems the 30 business days is from when you receive an acknowledgment from them and not necessarily when your certificates and transcripts got there.

I faxed my documents sometime late May and my transcripts got delivered on the 9th of June (as per tracking). I only received an acknowledgment on the 27th of June, counting 30 business days from then falls perfectly to today despite them requesting for another scanned certificate.

So for those waiting for ECA, hang in there and don't panic, till of course the 30 business days are over. IELTS next!! Slowly but surely

Since I got below message on the 26th June, I was hoping to have the eca in by now.

Thank you for applying to the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) for an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for immigration purposes. This is to confirm that your academic documents were received by the IQAS office and your file is now placed in line for processing. Please visit www.iqas.alberta.ca for the current processing time.

It is well. It shall end with praises.

Yes you can have someone in Canada pay. I have seen numerous cases on this thread where this was done. Apparently, if it's someone you trust you sure can give him your login details.

https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/216#51371178

Except the person that will help you pay is your direct family or friend, don't pay anyone to pay it for you.

The only reason I am battling with IQAS now was because I did proxy application fee payment in April and the payment was cancelled by the payer.

I had to send a money order in May and the money order was acknowledge in June. So, Use my case to learn and never ever pay by proxy.

I now have a domicially account for any international payment and thank God GTbank limit is now $1000 usd which is even more than the EE application fee too. Go and get a GTBank card if necessary.

Hi, in filling the application it's always asked which passport are you travelling with and they also asked if you have more than one citizenship. Any of the passport can be submitted, however if US is submitted they will not place visa in the passport but there is a document that will be issued which I have seen before.

Hey bro, I actually got this message on the 23rd of June (Friday) and started counting on 26th which was a Monday. All in all just wait out the 30 business days plus 2/3 days before you fret.

However I'm too sure yours is done and ready and you'll get a mail this week.

Liz2014:
Hi all,

I noticed there is no thread for those who are applying for Canada PR under PNP paper based not express entry, so I will post my question here. (please refer me to one if there is)

My brother just received a Provincial nomination under High Occupations in Demand category. The nomination has been sent to CIC by the province as well and he's been asked to mail his PR application package to Sydney,NS and He is getting all required documents together (police clearance etc

Question 1: In the checklist for this category, they did not request for Employer letter and proof of funds (although they were required by province to get Provincial nomination, which he provided and he still maintained and has them). He told me he wanted to add it nonetheless and I told him why add what they did not ask for? If you've done this before, please advise

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/prov-apply-application.asp

Question 2: Has anyone used paper based recently and can advise the timeline. Most people are using Express entry and he doesn't know who to ask about the timeline. I know it's slower than the 6-month for express, but has anyone gone through this recently?

To answer your questions @Liz2014

1) Paper based applications for Permanent Residence do not require you to submit "work reference letters" and "Proof of funds". These are usually covered by the Nomination certificate of the Province. Should they require knowledge about this, your application submitted at the Province would be the reference, except otherwise they ask for updated letters or proof of funds, however, this is rarely the case. Your brother does not need to add any document beyond what is on the checklist.

2) Timeline according to IRCC website is strictly 16 months compared to express entry of 6 months. However, I have come across people's timeline who has been within 4 - 6 months. It majorly depends on the visa office. I am in the process but at the stage where I await the PPR. Medical passed June 5.

I hope this helps!
