If Monday to Friday is 5 days, is 6 weeks not the same thing or even lesser than 30 business days considering public holidays?

My thoughts exactly.

In the midst of my sleepy eyes, i counted his processing time and it was 30days to be exact.

6 weeks oo...30 days oo... same thing

Not correct. You can easily visit but not easy to work.
I cautiously disagree with you. Canadians enjoy a lot of visa privileges with the US. NAFTA makes sure of this. Perhaps the only the difficult part is to first get a job in the US, but that itself shouldn't pose that much difficulty if you can easily travel to the country in your scouting for a job or maybe even create one. Some Canadian Silicon Valley tech founders have been known to use their own company to apply for a H1-B visa for themselves. This can eventually go on to earn them a permanent residency. Now sef, Canadian startup founders only need to meet some criteria to enter parole for up to 2 years in the US.

Furthermore, it may not be easy to get a job in the US for a Canadian for the simple reason that US citizens are competing for the same jobs. But it doesn't mean settling in to work in the US is difficult once that job is obtained.

Hmm, I have seen a lot of kids here that have imbibed some good Nigerian culture. That is what I want.

Are you not afraid of kids getting involved in drugs? You need to come to the city centre here and see lot of young people addicted to drugs. You don't need to watch walking dead to see zombies as many of them take zombie positions when they have taken drugs. A lot of teenagers die frequently after taking Ecstasy and Fentanyl. I don't want any of these abeg.

We are saying the same thing..everything is in d ecosystem. Don't be surprised when a kid says he always feels he is a woman trapped in a man's body. Kids have more rights than their folks. We bend them here.

I agree with you that you can get TN1 visa for professions that are under NAFTA. You however still need a visa and your employer has to apply for you. It is just easier that H1-B visa that almost everyone has access to. I also don't think you can get green card via TN1 route as you have to keep demonstrating your intention to return to Canada. Regardless of how you see it, there is still some restrictions placed on Canadian citizens working in US. It is worthy to note that Donald Trump is even contemplating dumping NAFTA deal. Not sure if he will do that.

This is unlike EU citizens that can pack their bags and work in any EU countries without the need for visa. This is my definition of easy to visit and work

Hi..
Good morning to you.
Can you kindly direct me.
I have a transcript that is addressed elsewhere not to IQAS or WES. Should I use tear it open and scan it.
And can I omit transcript and only scan and send my degree result only.
I only know that transcripts is sealed and sent via mail to a particular address by my alma mata.(as I have always done before now)

Pls help with clarification. I don't seem to understand this.

Get a new transcript from your school and send to them. Someone has had an issue of sending their transcript themselves but WES disregarded it because it didn't come from the normal location/ via the normal courier service that the school uses. If you will send it yourself, ensure that you send it from your school location and they tell you their usual courier company.

Also, it has to be sealed and stamped across the flap. Let it be addressed to them. Don't scan to them, they will disregard it. After they have sent your transcript, fax your degree certificate to them.

Hello Please HELP. I have done my ECA and my profile is registered in the pool. I did my ECA with WES I am a lawyer. I selected Bachelors degree as that is what I saw on my evaluation but recently I saw another persons evaluation from the same WES which had an extra remark saying that "The Bachelor of Laws is the first professional degree in Nigeria and represents the completion of 3 years study in law in a common law system".

I have done further reading on CIC website and I believe I should have selected professional degree, so any ideas. by the way the persons wes who I am looking at is in Canada I am still working on contacting her

Nigerian root wetin? All of these things we are doing is to remove limitations from my kids. Nigerian passport is the least valuable, I will glady drop it for them. Most of our kids will hardly identify with Naija anyways and their kids will do same.

Of course if this is the definition you mean, that's a world of difference, which to mind is even unsustainable. No wonder we had Brexit and the growing cracks in the EU. Many more will likely come. It's just not practical to create such migration scenarios where someone can just pack their bags and up to another country.

Why won't you want your kids to identify with Naija?

As for me, I want my kids to identify with the good Nigeria/ Western culture and discard the bad ones.
There are still a lot of good things about Nigeria and a lot of bad things about western culture. Just saying my opinion though..

Let me explain what i mean. I have seen kids that go abroad when they are really young. Most of them remember Nigeria like a fairy tale. They can come once in a while but they won't be so gung-ho about it. After a while, their kids don't even think about Nigeria and on it goes. My uncle in the US had his 4 kids in Naija before relocating to US. He later had 2 there. They come to visit when their dad has pressed them a lot but that's just it. I was quite surprised that in US, they were even more Naija than we in Naija in terms of their associations and stuff. But it was in the older generations. The younger ones are not so keen.

I would encourage them as much as possible to remember Naija but i know that once they are abroad, Naija will be less important to them. It's inevitable.

Yes, I agree with you. There should be some sort of restrictions. Some countries like UK are being flooded cos of job opportunities.

Go with your ruler if possible and measure the thing when they print them out. If it does not meet the specifications, tell them to reprint it until you are satisfied. You are paying for a service and they must meet your satisfaction.

I understand you very well but I still believe we have a role to play as parents in teaching our kids good Nigeria culture.

Let me cite an example, I met a 6 year old girl in a party last week. She had never been to Naija before but she was speaking Igbo fluently and she was so proud of it. I felt so ashamed of myself cos my son cannot speak Yoruba at all.
We are so quick at embracing western culture and we forget our own culture. We all want our kids to speak English with their accents. We make fun of people with Nigerian accent, whereas, English people have numerous funny accents themselves. You need to hear the terrible English ("You was" for example) a lot of them speak here despite the fact that that is all what they know how to speak.

There are loads of examples that I can give but I don't want to derail this thread. So let's stick to discussions on how to get Canada PPR. grin

Yes you are fine with just your marriage cert and newspaper publication. Also ensure you upload your degree certificate alongside the ECA or your application is rejected as incomplete.

For me, it is inevitable. I can't speak my language so nothing to teach. Like you said, when we meet in Canny, we can continue this discussion.
