Will you shut up, you brainless bimbo. So your so-called husband is the only man in his village that can last more than a day in the NDA? You must be kidding me. Do you know how many millions of "bloody civilians" that are willing and able to join the armed forces right now, but can't find their way in because they don't have any godfather, or don't know any traditional ruler or Senator and all that rubbish? You must be very mad.

If you ask very well, your husband and most of the cowards in the Nigerian Armed Forces are not qualified to be soldiers in any sane country. But due to the usual nepotism, corruption, and influence peddling that has battered us a people, misfits like them can lobby their way into the armed forces through the back door... Only for buffoons like you to come here and rub it in our faces and form a very vexatious sense of pride and achievement in spite of your nothingness.
Well said brother. Well said

Am happy to say am married to an officer of the Nigerian army and wouldn't have it any other way, those castigating the soldiers write up should shut up, what do you about barrack life, you couldn't last a day in the Nigerian Defence Academy, you should see the rigorous training they go through, after that officers and soldiers are posted out to the north east to fight our battles, do you how many women have become widows, fatherless, instead of praising the Camo some spit on it.
If you can do better join up, don't be all mouth.. Go to 44 military hospital in kd, maybe that would shut you up, learn to respect soldiers, some leave wives and families for months, you are in the same country with your hubby and you won't see him for months, that is sacrifice.

You must be daft! What is so sacrificial in staying away from family for months.

Alot of careers demand staying away from home and are very risky.

From astronauts to underwater welders to nuclear reactor operators.

None of these people go to Street to beat people up.

You can speak for yourself and your husband but don't be inconsiderate and make the larger populace affected by their wickedness angry.

They vent their anger on the public because they are cowards. Simple.

Think about it, soldier vs civilian. One armed, the other unarmed. One able to call for ARMED reinforcement if overpowered, the other unable to do so. Now tell me, and any bastard called a soldier reading this should also tell me, is this an even contest? Is it a fair contest? Is this a true test of strength or courage?

There you have it. Nigerian soldiers are the biggest cowards in the world. The only advantage they have over the average civilian is not so-called rubbish and outdated training. It is their arms and ammunition - issued by the government. Unfortunately, the gun control laws in Nigeria make it very difficult for the average civilian to lay hands on a rifle. Otherwise these cowardly soldiers wouldn't be so 'brave'. Simple and short.
God bless you. Preach

lipsrsealed Soldier boy u compare yourself with soldiers abroad pls be reasonable. The soldiers abroad I know and ve seen dont behave d way u guys behave. The way u guys behave makes me wonder if some of u are animals coated with human skin. Soldiers abroad join queue and dont jump line cos they are in uniform like u guys do. Soldiers abroad dont move on a wrong lane just to beat traffic which u guys do and sometimes cause accident. Soldiers abroad pay their fares and dont expect a free ride. Soldiers abroad dont see police as inferior but see them as part of d civil authority they must be subjected and hence u never see or hear of Army-Police clash. U dont hear of military brutality towards civilians abroad but it is normal here. In a traffic if a civilian mistakenly hits ur car as it cud with anyone, then d soldier wud turn the civilian into punching bag cos na for civilian body una get power. I ve even witnessed a case where the soldier was at fault but was beating d driver whose car he damaged.
So in all respect dont compare yourselves with soldiers abroad.

I did my NYSC in d north and witnessed firsthand so much brutality by d military towards unarmed civilian many of whom were even people old enough to be ur father. Sometimes I ask myself is it d gun and uniform that makes u guys so wild to act that way or d wraps of weed smoked.

During my NYSC, I had rapport with some soldiers and I was shocked with d comments of some soldiers which reflects their attitude towards civilians. The comments are "bloody civilians", una civilians no get sense", "I go waste una", "civilians be animal/chicken".

I feel perharps ur training makes u guys feel that u re superior to civilians but u fail to realize that u all in uniform were born "bloody civilians", ur fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, wives, children, relatives and friends are bloody civilians.

U also fail to realize that if u dont die in active service, u wud retire to be a bloody civilian.
U guys are so arrogant and full of yourselves as if no be blood they flow for una vein. Na for civilian body una get power but when Boko Haram where overruning ur bases u guys were complaining of lack of weapons telling us grammar that it is assymetric warfare bla bla but there is a never a lack of ammunition when u re called upon to manage peaceful protest of unarmed bloody civilians whom u wud use to test your shooting skills.

I also wish to use this medium to tell all our member of armed forces here on this thread and those who may be one someday that if u re called to suppress peaceful protests, use ur head. Dont be a zombie as late Fela call u. Most peaceful protests are means through which d masses speak to senseless leaders cos if they were sensible and sensitive to d needs of d masses it wud not ve degenerated to a protest. Hence dont use ur arms against d people cos those thieves in power wud use to maintain their grip on power and dump u when u retire to d point that even ur meagre pension wud be owed while they embezzle billions.
Dont let d gun or uniform get into ur head. Dont be a zombie cos as Fela call u. And remember what goes round comes round.

I'm a soldier(officer cadet) as well, but I must confess; most of our colleagues are too stupid to know when to act in rugedity and when not to act.

The people bringing this bad blood between us and civilians are the recruits(korofos), the illiterate ones: from you fatigue and the way you sounded, you are one of the fools that ought to be stricken off from our midst.

You and the set of soldiers in this category lack standard education. To them, wearing of camo(army fatigue) is an authentication and authorization to abuse and molest civilians. That is why, civilians hate us. You and your type caused it.

Each time I go on break from school(NDA) here, people, particularly, my town guys use to say that I'm too good and handsome to be a soldier. Whenever they say so, I use to tell them that in NDA we are well programmed and too enlightened to be stupid: though, I don't rule out few bad eggs amongst us. I only act when it is necessary; I don't show off unwarantly.

Let me reiterate my stance once more, I don't show myself anyhow. In fact, while on break, I don't fly our colours, I don't bully people, I don't drink much - only occasionally, I don't womanize - I have only two girlfriends: but very serious with one, though I'm studying the other, I don't keep late nights - for I'm not immuned to attacks. I conduct myself gently.

Civilians, please not all soldiers are arrogant. There are still good and civilized ones like myself and my ilks.

thank you.

A Nigerian soldier identified as Ojikutu Ridwanullahi - has urged fellow countrymen to have respect for soldiers and stop seeing them as the enemies. The young man who relayed his message via Facebook saying that the risks the gallant men (soldiers) take for country should reciprocated with respect and not condemnation. Read his message below;

Dear civilians of Nigeria this post is meant to change ur thinking towards us. Looking at other countries, people give respect to their soldiers and these soldiers are not working as hard as we. Nigerian Soldiers are not ur enemies, the enemies are Boko Haram and Militant.

We are facing dem for u while u run away from dem. Take for instance, if there is an attack u cannot go there but to run off the place to avoid death but we with just one life like u will run to it and make it stop. We can die as well because we have blood in our veins.

You have never clapped for our struggles but talk bad about us, u have never prayed for us but plan on how to injure us are u our enemy as well. Before i joined Army, i thought Soldiers were bullies but wen i joined i got to know that since u cant stop a moving car but pushing or pulling it den u cant stop soldiers from being rugged and causing because thats the programming. Stop adding to Soldiers problem and give us our little respect as warriors.

In those days, no one dears try a knight or soldiers but nw not the same. Our soldiers die everyday for the country. If you want to know more, come for the training and lets post you @ Maiduguri or Chad or Cameroon then you will know. Gallant Soldiers pls pass this on till all Nigerian will see it. Cos when ever I remember all I and my regulars went through water fell from my eyes. we re rugged, we re not coward "

GOD BLESS NIGERIAN ARMY,I rep 74

The moment you stop oppressing and intimidating those civilians, respect comes. BTW, every profession is equally important. You chose military voluntarily. So stop beating your hairy chest.

I understand that our soldiers most times over step their bound, harrass and bully innocent citizens. However, I still feel that they deserve our constructive criticism and not the destructive ones, they deserve our love, respect and prayers.

The hate we reserve for our soldiers should be transferred to our APC and PDP looters from the grassroot to the highest level of leadership in our country

but this same soldiers are also members/loyalists of APC and PDP. They have looted, still looting and will still loot . Therefore they deserve a very sizeable portion of the hate.

I don't understand... such rigorous training and sacrifice should translate to more gallant behaviour, don't you think? I respect our armed forces, but I fail to see how somebody well trained, instilled with honour and duty, should descend so low as to attack harmless civilians. If civilians had the right to bear arms, I doubt we'd see such callous abuse of power.

Is it that no good can come out of the army, so all they are known for is abuse, getting rough with civilians, well that's your mindset, but have seen soldiers save lives, have seen soldier amputees who weren't born that way but lost limbs in battle, have seen a soldier confined to a wheelchair cause of boko haram, don't judge.

This looks too good to be true. The extinct concept of an officer and a gentleman, in Nigeria's decadent Armed Forces! I can't believe it until I behold and engage you in flesh and blood. Then again, your refined/atypical use of English, choice of words, and clarity of thought entitles you to the benefit of the doubt, in my reckoning.

Utter Bullshit. So because you are married to one automatically justifies what they do. So what if they train hard? Thats the job of a warrior. The life of a soldier is that of sacrifice Im surprised your hisband hasnt told you that. No soldier anywhere in the world has an easy training but its only in this cesspit that you see soldiers complaining about how hard their training is. Its not as if If they are even trained properly sef. want the easy life they can quit. If I was in their shoes Id rather quit than behave like fools.

I don't need to be told about the sacrifices they make, I see it first hand.. They aren't trained properly?. So you have seen them train for you to conclude they aren't trained properly... So all military men behave like fools? Listen to yourself, so there aren't a few good men amongst them. Nigerians.
