AfonjaBoston:Bros, if I get better job, dey travel for work and jollificate, shey person go dey stand for 2minutes disgrace for Walter Carrington ?. 99% of F1 folks are seeking better lives, consular officers know that, data and statistics show that. 5 Likes |

EZEIGBO1OFIMO: See oyinbo man life dey very easy. They know you are going for "greener" pasture ( dont know if its really green like that) All they want from you is come and show me (without misrepresenting) that 99% you will spend in class and 1 % doing paper wahala and. Side hustle But the problem with most Nigerians is that they go to the embassy with a 50-50 (hustle and schooling) mindset and those folks are trained to keep you out when they detect the slightest of bullshit. During visa interviews you have to be a sleek talker not a sneaky talker 2 Likes |

OGreene: What data do you need again? How many family members, friends or acquaintances of yours do you know from a developing country or third world has ever gone back to their home country after completing their study? Start with yourself will you go back to Nigeria when done?? Even though you told the VO otherwise. The United States immigration process is too fluid and porous. 60% of sham marriages that go on in this country undetected can NEVER happen in the UK or Australia 4 Likes 1 Share |

Thank you for your comment. I seriously have home ties here. I got a promotion in January with a good salary increase and I have been in the banking sector for 4 yrs now. So I really don't understand what you mean. Needless to say, my dad is a US citizen so if I really wanted to migrate desperately, I would have asked to file an immigrant visa for me but I have a job and a business I run here which is going great. Then again, the delay is best known to the Visa Officer. AfonjaBoston: 3 Likes |

Nothing was in asterisk. It's the 214B they gave me but in a white paper. Amakyzuu: |

It means what we got wasn't the 214B. Pls reply the pm. Cos what we got was the exact paper for approval with a case no written and the asterisk on the administrative processing. Let's believe they get back to us positively cos my dad demanded to know how fast we would get a reply since school has resumed, she said they will try to do what they can. cmbagwu: |

cmbagwu: Bros, Public Affairs and Public Administration are not the same. How old are you? Funny you brought up your dad's citizenship. Why would you rather "immigrate" to the USA to go and study as an international student when you have HUGE benefits if you travel under the F1 or IR2 Your story is not adding up. Keep exposing yourself |

I need not clarify anything with you. Thanks anyways. I can see how old and matured you are too from your responses. FYA Please print this email and take it to the visa officer. Your I-20 states your program of study as Public Administration because the SEVIS system does not list Public Affairs or Political government and Processes. As DSO's we are to choose the title that best fits our school's program of study for I-20 purposes. You can change the DS 160 to match your I-2O as that is what is stated on your I-20. Miaanita:so since you have seen the requirement and you meet them, what validation are you looking for again? Simply go ahead if your GPa doesnt require you to write GRE and you have the funds. Its as simple as ABC. And by the way, what is all these 'wanna' , picking /forming the black american getho slang is not the way and wont do you any good. Have you seen academic papers with slangs like 'aint, 'wanna' etc? What you keep doing will eventually become part of you and it wont be of any good. Educated americans dont speak nor communicate like this. 1 Like |

EZEIGBO1OFIMO: Let's face it, there is nothing special about a public administration degree in the US. You can get the same degree in Nigeria for far less. No wife, no kids, no real reason to return after school. Pretty straightforward denial. |

TWoods: Of course it's no right; but then VOs that do grant visas for less 'stellar' courses/responses are also doing their job according to the law… unless you think otherwise. The only reason he was denied was that discrepancy in his i20 and DS160. Once that is cleared and the guy tries again with more preparation, I believe he will get the visa for that course. There is nothing wrong with studying that course in the US/anywhere overseas… or any course for that matter, so long as you can make a convincing case. 6 Likes |

Ability247: We don't know why VOs approve or deny folks. The best we can do is speculate. That being said, there are some simple things we can pick up. We know that VOs have a zero tolerance for inaccuracies. they say it here all the time. If you're going for public affairs, well there should be zero reason you present an I20 that says something different at your interview when you've had all day to correct it. Secondly, we have no idea why those with "less stellar" courses are granted visas. Could it be they have better ties which our man here does not have? 1 Like |

cmbagwu post=5 ;D9348812: Chinedu Mbagwu, I have nothing to lose I do not need a student visa. For your own sake better sit yourself down and find a University that meets 100% your study and career. needs . not doing tumbo tumbo and hurriedly trying to cross over. "Best fit" is not the same as original.na you they pay for school dont allow them sweet talk you in doing What you did not want to study unless you are telling me no university in the USA offers Public Affairs or Pol Science as a discipline. The VOs can see when you in such a hurry.Find another school and try more lucrative disciplines like Public RElations (nice field with potentials) it will gel Wella with your current customer service job (if you go gree go back to naija as you claim ) Brother na my 2 cent be that we no dey struggle wife (my wife is enough headache for me ) Take it or leave it 5 Likes |
