People have been granted visa for less 'stellar' courses/responses. The dude just met a hardnut and should study more so as to make a stronger case and try again.

He is paid to be a very very very hard nut

Young man, the purpose of this thread is to provide information related to student visas enquiries and not to be derailing the thread on irrelevant issues. I wouldn't even join issues with you. Some of us got jobs and studies to catch up with.

He chose it, either because it was cheap or had very low entry requirements. One thing is clear, he did not choose a cc because he was interested in seriously studying in school. These are things the VOs read through easily and is why many end up getting denied despite all their wasted fasting and praying.

Bottomline, 99.9% of serious students are not on this thread. These students know exactly what they need to do and start preparing for admissions to top schools over a year in advance. You will never see these folks coming here to ask silly questions like "where can i find schools with free application fee", you will never find them here seeking mock interviews (because they don't have a reason to lie or rehearse), most importantly, you won't find them here panicking about visa appointments scheduled a mere days before classes resume! These smart kiddos already obtained their visas in May/June. All we are left with are the desperados, the unserious and the lazy. To be honest, sometimes it's fun coming here to read and laugh when i have nothing else to do. But of course... "your case is different".

Did they demand for a return ticket because I was at Zenith and Stanbic at Oba Akran yesterday and I was declined mainly because of this.

Thanks.

World People;
The refusal letter been given @ the US consulate in Lagos is now WHITE
If you want a stress less PTA exchange, the GTbank @ Oba-Akran, Lagos should be your destination, you will get it under 48hours
Cheers.

Being cocky and blowing grammar will not give you visa.

The VO saw he clearly doesnt have "home ties" and he will "marry" to hurriedly "cheat" the system.

He does not hold a vital position in the industry he works at. (Accounts team, IT could have given him a better chance) The bank is saturated and anybody can do customer service.

He killed it when he.couldn't tell what his career path is

You cannot be paying millions of naira to go study that .

This one go enter street and the VO did his or her job
cheesy

The dude went off ladder a little bit in the process of the interview and the VO used it to deny him a visa. That is why you need gurus here to tell you exactly what to say and what not to say.

Sorry anyway.

See oyinbo man life dey very easy. They know you are going for "greener" pasture ( dont know if its really green like that)

All they want from you is come and show me (without misrepresenting) that 99% you will spend in class and 1 % doing paper wahala and. Side hustle

But the problem with most Nigerians is that they go to the embassy with a 50-50 (hustle and schooling) mindset and those folks are trained to keep you out when they detect the slightest of bullshit.

During visa interviews you have to be a sleek talker not a sneaky talker
Absolutely!

What data do you need again?
How many family members, friends or acquaintances of yours do you know from a developing country or third world has ever gone back to their home country after completing their study?

Start with yourself will you go back to Nigeria when done?? Even though you told the VO otherwise.

The United States immigration process is too fluid and porous.

60% of sham marriages that go on in this country undetected can NEVER happen in the UK or Australia

The dude does not literally understand the word "third world."

VO: I can see Public affairs on your DS 160 and on your i20 I'm seeing Public administration.
Me: My admission is in Public affairs but when my I20 was sent to the US government for processing they didn't have my course of study as it is stated on their system and the course closely related was Public administration. Both courses have same curriculum and course outlines. So it's no different but just the name.
VO: Okay. Starts typing for a minute or two.

This might not be a problem as such..... i have seen this comment come up and i think VOs are aware that it doesnt always match up between the was the school classifies it and the way the system does

I think the Vo asked just to know if you are intelligent enough to know why its different . Not because its a problem...i am not a Vo so sure i am only speculating but i have seen this come up and your response was the appropriate response

That stuff didn't make sense to the VO. So, he ought to have explained clearly and then ask the VO to contact the school if he's in doubt.

Sometimes, when you are putting up defence, you have to make the listener understand that you aren't afraid or there's nothing fishy.

That is why also I normally focus on I-20 and admission letter first when talking with anyone for interview.

Off point again, I asked a simple question , and the next thing you started yapping, was Nigerian politicians. Now tell me , have you ever bribed someone , say in public service for doing their job; have you ever bypassed the law because you know one oga somewhere , or you a related to some oga; do you pay that extra 50naira for keg at the filling station instead of paying whatever accumulates in the counter; did you get your passport, the normal procedure, or met with those immigration fools with uniform with extra cash?; can you bet your f*cking life ,that you have never benefited from the proceeds of corruption no matter how little?. We, including YOU, are the reason Nigeria is a sh*t hole, so next time, before you try to be the saintly leader of the Mob, who crucifies Nigerian politicians , Remember, YOU are no better. It is you little actions as well as everyone's that makes us a sh*tty third world country

Hahahahaha. Comparing me with these corrupt politicians is totally out of proportion. I am not corrupt but had done some favor for some politicians yet didn't ask for money. That is why they are still looking for me and had called me severally which I didn't pick their calls because they disrespected me for not calling me when they arrived in that state and met a top man and signed a contract worth a lot of money. A friend of mine here on Nairaland knew everything. I also couldn't sleep for over two weeks because I was heartbroken.

Second, the only think I could say I did which to me is not even bribe was when a friend of mine helped me with my passport. I gave him something in return to show appreciation and tutored his friend who was refused visa before.

Not everyone in Nigeria is corrupt.

My visa was delayed yesterday the 9th of June by a young VO in Windows 4 after delaying the guy before me. I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong. I was as confident as the VO.

VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning and how're your?
VO: Great! Please pass me your passport, Sevis and i20.
Me: There you go. Passed them.
VO: Why did you choose this course?
Me: I chose to study Public Affairs because, asides the fact that it's a sub-field of my undergraduate study which is Political Science, this course is a vital requirement needed to take up a position as a Public relations officer after my masters degree.
VO: So you will come back to your place of work when you finish your masters?
Me: Yes please but as a Public relations officer as I am currently a Customer Service Executive in my place of work.
VO: So where do you work and what are your duties?
Me: I work with XYZ Bank PLC as a customer service executive and I manage the social media platform which is Facebook, Live chat and Twitter handle. I'm duly responsible for handling customers queries and complaints and I provide feedback from customers not satisfied with a particular product or service to the unit involved for proper review of the complaint and possible timely resolution which is conveyed to customers on these platforms. We also monitor the channels (Mobile app, Online banking and ATM) for network fluctuations.
VO: Okay.. So what will this course do for you?
Me: This course will give me the knowledge and insights to manage emerging issues in my organization both internally and externally. It will also help me develop current policies and besides, it's a vita requirement needed to take up a position in my current place of work.
VO: Are you married?
Me: No please.
VO: Any kids?
Me: None for now.
VO: Have you traveled outside the country before?
Me: No please, haven't had a reason to until now.
Vo: Okay. Types again and again and again.
Then he handed me a white paper. As I was about to jubilate, he gave me back my passport and i20... and he said, I'm sorry I won't be granting you a visa at this time. Then I looked at the paper.. 214B. Now in a white paper... I shook my head.
Me: May I please confirm why I'm being delayed again?
VO: it's written in the paper I just gave you.
Me: Thank you. Didn't know where I gathered the strength to laugh. But I laughed anyways.

This isn't the end of the world. I said to myself. I just drafted a mail and sent to my school telling them about the discrepancy in my admission letter, and what I have on my i20 and the international office was kind enough to send me a mail stating the reason for the discrepancy and asked me to print it and send apply again.

I have chosen to defer till Spring 2018 coz school (New Mexico Highlands University) resumes on the 15th and I don't want to start explaining and speaking English at the POE.. Let me give myself time.

Sorry bro I guess the VO had issues that morning coz I see nothing wrong with your transcript
I also deferred my admission to spring coz I need a break from this whole VO drama
