Just wait till the result is out. grin
I see no reason why the price of UBA should be far below that of zenith. I bought my last batch yesterday @9.4. Wanted to add more if it opened lower but with what I am seeing I have to look elsewhere.

Sincerely impressed with zenith result. It should ordinarily go up today. But market get him own mind. If the market had my type of mind, no body will sell Zenith today. the result is good. But I still prefer Diamond bank.
In other news, Dang Flour on full offer. Not so good for a km10 dream by year end.
grin grin
What an elder sees sitting down.....
If you are for long term in dangflour don't bother selling because you may not get it cheaper.

We asked them to strike when the iron was hot but GREEDINESS didn't allow some.

Now I see alot has been injured internally by wicked Mr.Market hence they console themselves with long-term fairy tales.

NSE is no longer a place where you keep your money and go to bed,

Even NIGERIA as an entity dont know where it's heading to.

So WISDOM demand we play safe.

When did holding a stock for 3 months become long term? DANGFLOUR will still get back to 7 Naira and then go above it. Who are you warning? The people who bought quality stocks? Learn to keep quiet if you have nothing to say.

That is a wicked somebody. I think some pple are over reacting to the whole thing. The stock might start recovering by monday. If I want to enter, I would look to do so at Monday's low.

Full offer again. Short termers should learn rule no 1.
Rule number 1 says, defend your capital.

I doff my hat for longer termers like pa ewumi. Patience is a virtue, but unfortunately, I lack it. I just hope that I grow it in future.

Pa Ewunmi already learnt plenty lessons. He is got his fingers burnt too just like many are doing these days. However he has perfected the skill.
Temporary loss does not shake him again. So do temporary rise in prices does not affect him.

Imagine someone who bought 1 million units of DANGFLOUR stock at N1.00 in January 2016 when Dangote took over. I was not patient then - was too excited with a 100% profit.

My question is which stock can perform this feat again? I am ready to be patient this time.

100% profit? and you are not happy. I am short of words Sir. I am in UCAP n AFRIPRUD for long term and will reassess again when the 2017 results come out. You can join both at any price below #3

I am happy sir, I was just "imagining." I have my eyes on another stock which I believe can do something close. Will buy at the bottom and wait but will reassess quarterly.

Sincerely, I don't expect Q2 margins to be fantastic. Q3 is actually the game changer. According to IFRS, NPL can't be reclassified as performing until after two consecutive quarters of performance. FBN management disclosed that payment obligations were met in Q1 from one of their major exposure and that they expected same for Q2. It is in Q3 that this is taken off NPL and added to profit and loss account .
That said, I think the market reaction is premature in the sense that nothing is concrete yet. However, the market thinks it over-punished FBNH and seems to be eager to make amends. I won't be surprised if FBNH trades in double digits this year.

Of Dangflour, talk of an interim dividend is a NO for me. I don't see a company just getting out of the woods paying interim dividend from negative retained earnings. When the going was good, the company never paid interim, why now? I expect the market to reward the stock for consistent improvement in earnings by Q2 sha. A 50% reward in price is not impossible subject to price of Dangsugar. I feel it will trail Sugar this year at least.

Disclosure: I'm closely watching Dangflour playing the FBNH route first. Don't buy based on this basis. Consult your investment advisers.

@ Maykesha FBNH and DF have experienced some rally already but I'll like to suggest you monitor them closely and then consult your investment adviser. Watch your entry price too. I expect some good bargains in few days/weeks.
Note the bolded with respect to FBNH. I guess many don't understand this rule exists. The management is working assiduously to lower NPL to single digit, improve CRR and margins.

Disclaimer: I have limited knowledge of accounting standards, rules and procedures. In addition, I'm not a trained/schooled investment adviser. grin If yawa gas, OYO. grin

If they are so sure of recovery, nothing stops them from putting it as a note so that investors could be well guided. I am not convinced about their recovery, I know forward looking statements when I see them. The jump in impairment in Zenith bank is due to the hair cut they have decided to take in ARIK. I dont know why it is difficult for coys to report on some unusual items. They prefer to leave everything to investors to unravel

Why would he be happy when his making his own 100% profit in imagination while others are busy making theirs in real life.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pluto09(m): 3:19pm On Aug 11, 2017
@ Rebekah, just hold on to your conviction.
That story of recovery has been told many times with nothing to show for it. Traditionally, banks book more impairment in H2 and i dont see how FBN will have a better H2.
Those who understand TA will make more money in FBN. Fundamentally, the bank has a lot to do for them to be the old FBN we used to know.
