You purchase a player for 25million pounds and you don't expect him to hit the ground running.

His years of apprenticeship are over. Arsenal expects Lacazette to start delivering and he has done so, Liverpool expects Mohammed Salah to start delivering and he has done so. Manu expect Lukaku to hit the ground running likewise Morata for Chelsea.
A 25 million pounds player should hit the ground running.

Not every player hits the ground running, Mkhitaryan for example took some time.

From what I read about Kayode it was Pep's phone call that convinced him to sign with Man city.
what sort of call....?
why can't players are the wood from the tree....
it is quite glaring that Newcastle would have give him better opportunities to establish himself...
I just don't understand why Nigeria players keep making wrong moves...

Isaac is down the pecking order. These are the youngsters we've been hoping for to rise up to the occasion. But the season has just started. Too early to say.

As regards Kayode, that's the kind of situation you find yourself when a big name/country/club offers you something. Hey, it's PEP!

A player of Iheanacho's rating is expected to hit the ground running.

This is the expectation of Leicester City fans.

so how has nacho not delivered?
the boy has barely played a full 90 mins....with an assist to his name...
how many minutes did lukaku played before he bagged in a goal...ikewise lacazette
please stop trying to exonerate yourself thinking nacho is going to flop Leicester.

even messi and Ronaldo will find it difficult to cope with that leicester kind of play

What has Iheanacho delivered this EPL season?

He is EXPECTED to start delivering that is my point.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 6:18pm On Aug 12, 2017
Please its too early to say anything about Iheanacho.

He was thrown in at the wrong circumstance. That was Arsenal fighting to get back in the game. Personally, I don't think Iheanacho had any biz in that game unless he had something to offer defensively as well.

There should be no talk about Iheanacho yet, whether you are for him or not. Me I will call a spade a spade when the time comes.. But for now guys chilll

Icon4s:

Those that have been on this thread long enough can bare witness to the type of hype Iheanacho received here. Tomorrow you also deny that Iheanacho was ever rated higher than Mbappe here.

How can you start giving excuses already for Iheanacho after just barely 15mins of EPL action with Leicester?

When Ahmed Musa struggled last season you didn't blame it on the Leicester system. But it has come to Iheanacho 'the Leicester system doesn't suit him'. This is a golden opportunity for him. He better quickly adjust to the system and start playing. He is not getting any younger.

Isaac Success career development has been below expectations. He needs to turn up this season else he falls further below the pecking order even in the Super Eagles.

Iheanacho is not rated higher than Mkhitaryan who was the bundesliga player of the year.

Granted @ bolded. But Premiership clubs does not revolve around the Super Eagles.

TheGoodJoe:

I am not defending Iheanacho. Keep that aside. I am talking of Leicester City as a whole. Forget the goals they scored. Their football sucked. It will look good for defending players like Ndidi, Amartey, Morgan, Maguire etc but atrocious for attacking players.

I do not like Iheanacho in such system. It is not about him scoring goals or shining. It is the kind of way I want him developing with respect to the Super Eagles. I want our players playing in systems that complements what the coach is doing with the National team.

I never even commented about Iheanacho's performance in the game.

It was TheGoodJoe that was already faulting The Leicester system that it doesn't suit iheanacho's style of play.

So I had to tell him "no excuses, he is expected to deliver this season".

TBH I didn't know Watford signed Andre Gray. Isaac had better get out of that place before the window closes.

My honest assessment of ArsLei match.

Leicester were just being too cautious since they were playing a top side as Arsenal. Lets make no mistake, arsenal can still be deadly, never mind their 6th position last season. That said, they gave too much respect to Arsenal in the course of the game. When they were supposed to be attacking, they sat deep defending. Allowing wave after wave of pressure and that has a way of wearying a team. They also chose a wrong time to be defending. Its also evident that a player like Mahrez is no longer committed to the Leicester set up. His touches were lackadaisical, he didnt commit to any tackle and got easily dispossessed a lot in the game. In my assessment, he was the weak link. Removal of Okazaki was a poor touch from the Coach. He was supposed to keep the dude on the field but remove Vardy to add to their attacking threat. For those who wanted Iheanacho as a 9, he has a workaholic in Okazaki and definitely will finish better if that patnership was explored.

I would have expected Iheanacho to be subbed in at the start of the second half. Twice vardy wasted goal bound chances. One when he had a bad positional awareness of Petr Chech. He should have lobbed the ball over an on rushing goalkeeper. That would have puntured every other arsenal move. Second was when there was a fast break and he decided he wanted to go solo amidst 3 Arsenal players. The dude needs a bit of team play lessons. Selfish to the core.

Arsenal on the other hand did fantastically well, coming from behind twice. Playing Ozil is probably the problem I have with the team. He is another player who is just wearing Arsenal jersey but his heart has left. Hence if all the team play is built around a player like that, productivity of the team will definitely suffer. Wenger did something differently for the first time, dropping Oxlade Chamberlain to right back and pumping in more attack options. And the result really paid off.
It remains to be seen what arsenal will do this season.

Overall, it was a great game. I definitely hope Craig Shakespeare puts on his thinking cap next time

This is the expectation of Leicester City fans.

Leicester is not a club with lots of money swirling around.

When they buy a player they expect him to deliver NO DELAY, very quickly he must adapt and or modify his game to suit the circumstances.

That will be the expectation of the manager, the club and the fans.
