Good day diranseun,

VO said something about your issue. It will save you alot of hurt if you go to the first page and read it up yourself cos the moderator pushed it to the first page. There is no point letting pple do mathematics on top of your matter, since this is your first issue after 5 years of marriage, it is natural that pills might distort your wife's normal circle, even the VOs are not this judgemental but as you know, nobody will determine your outcome in the end except the responsible officers. We are all here to say our bit.

In summary, chose btw this two options the one that your risk appetite can carry as contained on the VO's input.

Option 1, get yourself equiped with all documentations for giving birth eg, doc correspondences, plenty cash and convincing power at POE and travel.

Option 2, Fill anther form, schedule another interview and explain yourself better to the VO still equip with all documentations including budget sheet and above all, please put God first.

Congrats.

Okay, Atlanta consulate has started issuing passports again, but I have two questions, how do I go about the guarantor's form thingy? Also, is the letter of consent from the unavailable parent compulsory? And must it be in black ink too? Or should I just burst it and continue with the visa-on-arrival?

Hi guys,

Good morning. Please does anyone know the baggage allowance for Qatar for business class? Also do you know extra luggage costs? Thanks so much.

Wow... This is big revelation o. So you can actually get LO's ticket booked without passport details?!

For anyone else who's tried this or is knowledgeable about this...Does this mean (based on the premise of booking LO's ticket without passport details) that one can buy an adult and infant return ticket when DW is leaving (which is significantly cheaper than buying a one-way for LO alone upon return to Nigeria)...and simply add LO's details after birth, when it's time for the return? Is this possible?

If this doesn't contravene any rules/laws, this may be a viable solution for airlines that only allow purchases of (usually expensive) one-way ticket for infants on return o...

It'd be great to get mulitiple views & opinions on this potential 'lifehack' for airfares o...lol

cutieb:

Pls o I'm overwhelmed with baby care so might not be able to reply everyone...
For budget sheet send me an email.
For Qatar go to their website and click your location which is US and it will list the customer care no that you can call...I called and booked without LO's passport details...it's not needed..I paid with my GTB naija debit card which was done when I called..gave the CC agent my card details and I was debited and transit hotel reservation was also done on the spot..

For leaving 14 days...I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want anyone to bad mouth, discourage or gimme unnecessary advise.. what I needed was the airnfant is fit to fly which is 14days old and also paediatrician's check up that my LOs is healthy that's all...

Lol. Thanks a lot for the link. I saw it yesterday and I'm still confused. Their website says 40kg per piece for Africa bound flights and 32 for USA bound ones.

Please if you have used Qatar recently to and fro Lagôs, what was your baggage allowance? Thanks.

Thanks shawlar.

I guess if you are having a scheduled CS (dob known) and you and your SO have agreed on a name (infants name known), you could try. But I'm not sure the airlines will accept that is a postdated birthday except you use an agent who can help you figure it out.

Hello house,

Please I need VO and POE firsthand feedback from any single mum or anyone who knows any single mum. I need info so as to apply for my visa.
I want to use my dad as my sponsor and I also have a great paying job, so proof of burden should not be a problem.
Got my hospital and doctor correspondence already.
Do I stand a chance of getting my visa?

Biko help a sister.
Thank you

I know a single mum that travelled to give birth but she used her own bank account statements. She didn't have any issues whatsoever, right from visa application to poe to getting babies birth cert and passport to returning to returning 9ja,no issues whatsoever

Hello house!
I have shared visa and Poe experience so it's time to share my birthing experience.
I stayed in Michigan till a week to my EDD before I left for Chicago
I had my LO on Wednesday 19th of July in Chicago. A day after delivery my LO's birth certificate was ready but cldnt get it till after I was discharged (I fast tracked it).I was discharged on Friday evening..went to vital records to get the BC. Had an appointment with the paediatrician On Tuesday after I was discharged and LO was certified okay...I got a fit to fly for my LO from the paediatrician cos I was gonna travel to NY and domestic airlines need certification for infants less than 14days to fly. Went back to Michigan on weds.

Called Qatar airways Customer Care to get my LO ticket and was charged $150.(note that I got my ticket from wakanow but booked LO directly)
Hubby mailed notarized form thru FedEx (I was very disappointed in their service) after several calls to them I eventually got the package on Saturday after which I left for the airport to board plane to NY.

On Monday I went to NY passport office very early as walk in and I met a very long queue...eventually after 5hrs I made it in and my passport was processed for $165 I waited to collect it...left there around 9pm. On Tuesday I sent a mail for visa on on arrival to the immigration and got a reply after 5 hrs..
On Wednesday, Got to the airport checked in all my over weight luggage (3 big luggages 2 for me and 1 for baby) no extra charges the guy was too nice, checked in baby stroller and car seat and my supposed overweight hand luggage..lol...
Had 9 hrs layover at Doha was lodged in a hotel...slept for 3hrs before we were taken back to the airport..got to naija on Friday morn..got my luggage and went to the visa on arrival section...paid $200 and I was given change of $10 lol...
I left NY exactly 14 days(2weeks) after LO arrival.
We are doing great...just adapting to this no light country again..lol..
Thanks everyone who helped out in this journey.. o appreciate you all.. God bless

Congrats you had this all well planned out. Correct cutieb. WHich hospital and doc did you use in Chicago?

Hello Batwi, kindly throw more light on the single mum's experience. What was her poe? What was the poe interview and responses like?did she fill only her name on the bc without hassles?did she have to fill a special form for single mum or did her baby daddy provide the ds5063 form?

Good day. Pls I need your advice on my issue. Had a successful interview in June and after that we realized wife was 10 weeks pregnant. (we were not sure because of some pills she used which the doctor said could affect her monthly period. This is our first issue after 5 years of coming together). The issue now is that the visa is tourist visa and no question about pregnancy was asked during interview. We have the plan of giving birth in US and how due date is November. How do you think we can go about it to avoid being turned back. Also, we plan to stay in an hotel in Houston. Please your candid advise would be appreciated.

Choi!
Which kind lie be this??
10 weeks in June, due date November??

This is quite annoying,if you are a parent or about to be a father or a mother & u lie like this, to the embassy and then to us on this platform...what does the future hold for home trainings & the country

If baby is due 30th November(EDD is just EDD), conception happened around 9th March, give or take so ,if interview day was 1st June, pregnancy was 12 weeks, give or take a week. Just saying. Before you start calling someone a liar without any evidence

Im not sure it's true...March conceptions should not have an EDD of November, even 30th.

Thank you

I can't remember the exact details,i would have to ask her. All i can remember was that she was asked at poe if her husband will be joining her and she responedd that she was a single mother and they asked for doctor & hospital correspondence and evidence to show she could pay her bills. Yes,the baby daddy filled the ds5053 form to enable the child get the American passport
